I saved a number of videos that have been put into thing, now most of them are "hidden". Does Premium change that? I would have paid for Premium and downloaded them if I knew he was going to hide them!!!
Been a TH-cam Premium subscriber for over a year. No regrets. I subscribe to close to a thousand channels and I love that all the videos aren’t being interrupted by ads. For those who aren’t aware, there is the option of an annual plan… but i had to find it by doing a Google search instead of going through TH-cam settings.

You're definitely getting your money's worth as the time you spend on ads would be at least a few hours. I wish there was a cheaper option.
I kind of feel harassed into getting it because the commercials on TH-cam are ridiculous, but since I watch TH-cam a lot I'll grudgingly say that for me it's worth it.

The same. The ads weren't too bad before but then they started showing more and more. Right now TH-cam is the only place to go for commentary reviews and all sorts of content. There's nothing else. But then Disney Netflix Amazon are now doing ads as well with a cheaper ad supported tier. Amazon was free but they're planning to do ads unless you upgrade.
Yes I agree with you, it depends on what you spend most your time listening to or watching. Like me I know I go straight to youtube to watch movies or listen to music thats it. I dont use spotify or pandora or any music app at all. Been just using youtube with ads forever. Then decided to make the leap and try it, its night and day difference. Because all those ads omg lol. I like it im super pleased, but if you have spotify or any other music app for awhile is not worth it. Because there always cheaper priced and you are used to going to them as your primary source for music changing to a new platform can be difficult unsatisfying cause your so used to it and the price is higher. So I say just stick to spotify or pandora, since the reason mostly people change is because is cheaper.
Yep, that’s their business model. Aggravate people into subscribing.
I’ve been a TH-cam premium subscriber since they started the service. I watch a lot of videos and I don’t know what I would do without it.
I used to subscribe to it. I really liked the no commercials and the background play, but paying that much per month just to skip commercials was a little too expensive. I never used the music and wish they offered an option without the music for a lower price.

Once you add TH-cam Premium and get used to the “premium experience” of no ads it’s very difficult to go back to regular TH-cam with ads.
I recently reviewed my subscriptions and I stopped TH-cam Premium. Right now TH-cam is almost impossible to watch due to the number of commercial interruptions.
They have a $6 plan for students. You can also pay annual to save. The ads are really annoying to the point it's intolerable.
Background play used to be a thing like 13 years ago, a lot of the features in YTP were free before youtube decided to put a dollar sign on them which i understand over time they had to make money somehow i just wish they added more to "Premium" to make it premium or have different tiers because in the next month or so there's gonna be people signing up just so they don't deal with ads due to the adblock war that has started. Eventually i will have to join the Premium pack as YT is basically my cable tv replacement I haven't watched cable tv in over a decade.
I have not had cable for ages and ages, since I first started living on my own as it is just not worth it for me. As for ads they are not a big deal for me when they do pop up since it is pretty much just like being bombarded with scam callers😵💫

I wish there was a TH-cam music app for Xbox, PlayStation and other TV based systems. That feels like the main thing lacking that Spotify and even Apple Music now offers.
I'm gonna finally break down and get TH-cam premium soon. *Sigh* you win google. The ads on TH-cam are crazy these days and unfortunately I'm pretty much forced to cough up the $120, though I feel bullied into it rather than it being an option. The amount of time I will save not watching ads is worth it, but I sure wish they wouldn't force bundle features I don't want, like TH-cam music. I think it's overpriced at $120 a year. If they have a $7-8 option which only gave ad free and nothing else I'd feel better about it. I'm also a TH-cam creator, and I feel like I should be given a discount considering I'm making regular content for the platform.
I got TH-cam premium during the election in 2020 and was tired of all the stupid election ads . I use it to listen to music when I ago anywhere because you get TH-cam music with your subscription, I watch a lot of TH-cam so for me it’s worth it. I’ve thought of cancelling but never had the heart to cancel.
I was originally pretty skeptical and decided to try TH-cam Premium for a year (I am retired).
But since I have discovered this video, I have realized my original purchase was worth it, to avoid all the ads.
I will definitely renew.
Still get them saying....now a word from our sponsor...in other words another ad. Can't escape them completely but senior discount is a good idea.

The ‘Glut’ of advertising is ridiculous… they back you into purchasing premium! You still see brand deals and creator inserted ads which will piss people off thinking they should see nothing….
I’ve had TH-cam Premium ever since it was known as TH-cam Red in 2018. Got it for the first round of Cobra Kai. I’ve kept it ever since. I had a little hiccup and briefly lost the Premium subscription and REALLY FELT the decline in the experience on TH-cam. Premium is worth it for me.
Same here! Although recently I’m thinking of canceling because I can’t find much when I search for things. It keeps pushing “Shorts” on me.

I love it. In a way you kind of don’t need apple or Spotify music if you have premium bc you get free playlists use and you can turn off screen while you listen to music

Hello, I like your video, it's very informative. I noticed you mentioned a student price, which made me think they should also offer a senior price. Youth are not the only population that deserves to benefit! If you have any ideas how to communicate this to youtube, I would be very interested in hearing/reading. I also thought maybe somehow, someday you might be able to casually mention this idea. I have subscribed to your channel. I wont pay for premium at this point just because of the high price. Presenters are now putting their own loud obnoxious log winded ads on youTube premium right in the middle of the video. I resent this immensely and I wish some other premium subscribers would join me in protesting. I have asked these presenters and TH-cam to stop doing this as I pay $13 a month for it. That’s considerably more than I pay for Netflix. It’s infuriating. I don’t mind if they are selling their own merch lik t-shirts but without ads. These are actual, very loud obnoxious ads for products and I am sure these characters are getting paid handsomely for it.

Looking for a resolution…I got a new iPad and when I transferred all data…while it shows I have the premium subscription…it is not working at all…I get all the long ads again as if I didn’t have premium at all …any help would be appreciated since no one knows why this happens…
Avoid any recurring payment to anything Google owns, including YT. The negative long term effects of this are not worth it, they still sell your personal information for profit, even if you manage to back out of it. It’s bad news all the way around. The harassment and bombardment of ads on YT is specifically designed as a method of coercion, so you will pay for a Google-owned service.
Can I create different playlists for various genres if I have this? That would be what I'm most interested in

I’ve been using TH-cam premium or TH-cam Red since it begun: I had no idea no premium members couldn’t do background play. That’s crazy to me.
They need to bring out different tiers. A lite version for a cheaper cost to remove ads and a full premium service. I guarantee they'll make more money and have more customers if they did that.
Most people have a music service they are happy with, having even higher quality video is pointless, specially for those who's connection will buffer, I don't know anyone who's interested in TH-cam original programming so none of it is really beneficial for most.
If you do like all that then premium is great but they need a smaller ad removal tier as I guarantee so many people aren't subscribing because of the cost and aren't interested in all the additional premium content.

Found a 3 month trial code on the net. Loving YT Premium. I'm keeping it.
There is an enhanced bitrate option for some shows, but when I look at bitrate, it says AV1 2500kps for regular and vp9 2500kps for enhanced bitrated and av1 is supposed to be the better codec. So is there something wrong?
This is outside of my wheelhouse. Anyone else care to chime in?
Be certain when you cancel subscription you're ready for ADS GALORE I sometimes get the same ad playing three times PLUS the additional ads.....I call bull#shi#

Ad blockers are nice because i only want to watch videos without the spam videos/ "ads". I have no reason to switch my music to TH-cam as its a network hog (kills bandwidth to play audio) so if they are smart they will make an affordable option (not Netflix price) for normal people that use TH-cam for what it was for originally a creator centered sharing platform not a money grabbing site that makes you pay for features you would/ will likely never use.

I'm currently trying you tube premium trial, I listen to music and watch music videos mostly. I'm torn between that and getting a Spotify Premium. Spotify seems to work better in my car then the TH-cam premium app. Which one do you think is better between Spotify or TH-cam premium?
Can't say I'm a huge music aficionado but between TH-cam Music and Spotify, I'd say Spotify is PROBABLY the better of the two for music and app integration. On the flipside you only get the ad-free videos on YT w/ YT Premium.

I had youtube premium for some time, but it never got rid of the video ads, only for music. Not worth it just for music. I canceled with the price increase.

It's worth it, at least to me, for one single reason: ADVERTISEMENTS SUCK.
I prefer it..I use the music as well.. especially once I figured out they have all the music I like and obscure music that I thought I could only find on Amazon... you will get hit with adds from other apps.. which I assume means paying more.. ain't gonna happen..but still worth it.

After i upgraded to Premium, YT is not working for me. I cant search, play videos, scroll. it is buffering, freezing (not only YT but it slows downa nd freez other work) and lagging and the quality is worst ever. Once i switch to other YT acco with no premium i have no issue AT ALL!! why is this.. So im going back to use YT with adblock, atleast YT workes exccelent
TH-cam is an excellent platform, but there are some negative trends such as youtube premium. TH-cam premium is about charging money for the same thing you used to do for free. But now they are trying to force people to buy it with constant advertising interference. If you want it to be like before, pay. So, I conclude that new times have come, and they are no better than they were.
I watch youtube on PC so background play is ALWAYS enabled.
I feel like it would be something I would subscribe to if it was just to remove advertisements. It's the only thing that tempts me beyond background play and I just don't see the value in it when it's just my mom that would use a family plan.
YT has a monoply on this type of service, charging a premium only opens the door for new platforms. We all know how HBO started, now look at its competition
But if I get premium am I taking away earnings from TH-cam content creators? Like I want to support Big Baby and Andy Makes Movies and the Brad Server Curly G channel with all my viewing ???
Good question- you don’t take earnings away from creators. We still get a small chunk of money for each view from a YT Premium member.
It would be great if TH-cam wouldn’t crash when I try to see my downloads 🤷♂️

Hmm,... well isn't what's supposed to happen. There might still be the sponsored sections of videos TH-camrs film themselves. But anything else is weird. The most successful TH-cam original program is Cobra Kai. However this program became more popular after it moved to Netflix after season 2.
Premium members can still watch the first two seasons on YT, though. Same thing w/ Step Up: High Water. Moved to STARZ for S3, but Premium members can still watch first two seasons on YT, too.

If you watch a lot of TH-cam then it is 100% worth it! I couldn't go back to regular youtube if I tried at this point. No ads + downloads to watch offline definitely makes it worth it to me!

I have TH-cam Premium but I wish I had more control of where my money goes. So if I like a video it get's more and if I dislike a video it get none. It's the only subscription service I use as watch lots of TH-cam videos.
