    I had the tint on for 4 years, and now it's brittle and tearing. How to get it off now?

    Would a heat gun be fine?

      Be careful, I used a heat gun on mine and it started to melt the red plastic around my tail lights after only a couple seconds

    I smoked out my tail lights with tint film, 10 years ago at this point they are completely dried out and hard. The tint is still there but it is completely fused to the light.a heat gun is going to do absolutely nothing for me ,what other options do I have to try to get this cooked on tint off of the assembly or do I need to just Chuck em out and buy new ones?

      Hi guys, not sure what vinyl was used and for how long, but we recommend heat or (better) steam, and adhesive remover. It will take patience. Here's a video that may help - th-cam.com/video/vJwTrcQDAW4/w-d-xo.html

    What about headlights with UV coating

    • @LuxeAutoConcepts
      @LuxeAutoConcepts  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great question. This really depends on the condition of the lights when the film is applied, the brand of vehicle, and the method of removal. If you warm the tint and follow this method the chances of you damaging the UV coating on the light is minimal. I've removed and retinted many lights and have only had this happen a couple of times, and if I remember correctly it was on Ford cars. LightWrap does have a great UV blocker built in also, and we have used light smoke a number of times after restoring lenses to act as a replacement for the OE UV coat that had warn off.

      @@MrBadass300 I don't doubt it! This is just one of the reasons we developed LightWrap from the adhesive up to be specifically made for vehicle lights. Most wet application stuff is actually adopted from the sign industry with permanent adhesives.... check my recent blog article here. www.luxeautoconcepts.net/blogs/blogs/why-lightwrap-types-of-tint-explained

    What if the vinyl sticker has mended to the tail light? From what it looks like I cannot remove it with one pull. The sticker has cracks and peels like an old sticker on a windshield.

    • @LuxeAutoConcepts
      @LuxeAutoConcepts  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Apply heat/steam, and a plastic razorblade will help to scrape.

    What’s that heat equipment?

    • @LuxeAutoConcepts
      @LuxeAutoConcepts  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      In this video, John uses a blowtorch; however, we recommend heat guns and steamers for people who are less experienced with a blowtorch, plus they're safer. A standard blow dryer on the highest heat setting will also work.

    What's the recommended weather to do this in???

    • @hfcxhf3
      @hfcxhf3 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not neccesarily weather. If the tail light is COLD, it will be HARD to take off. So best to do it in the sun when its warm-hot outside and try to heat it up with something. Like a hair blower, steamer, ect.

    Tinting lights is by far the stupidest thing you could do from an automotive cosmetic point of VIEW. They're lights! made to be seen!!

    • @LuxeAutoConcepts
      @LuxeAutoConcepts  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      A lot of people seem to think that because of cheap Chinese vinyl and awful opaque tint sprays, but LightWrap is unlike any of those. We have 3 shades - light, medium, and dark, so the customer can choose the level of darkness they're comfortable with - however, our darkest shade still has excellent light transmission.

    • @LuxeAutoConcepts

      Yes. We have used it on many lights and other automotive surfaces and find it to be one of the more effect mild adhesive removers. 👍🏻

      He uses a blowtorch, but a heat gun or high-heat hairdryer is easier and will also work.
