Whereas in this... it hits so much harder that he tries to do the right thing always, and bad things still happen... so he questions why even bother... and then to honor May, he decides to live by her words... incredible.

Even in the difference in dialogue and wellness, Tobey'Spiderman was like "I'm at peace and getting better"....the next gen: Andrew'Spiderman was like "I'm depressed from my mistakes and deserve to suffer from them".......the next gen: Tom'Spiderman "What's the point of it all then??!".... I’ve seen it before in the movies he has gone out in wrinkly clothes before he has even suited up, it’s also to kind of show his age and his ability to do stuff like normally Aunt May would Iron his clothes for him. Prime example in this movie he doesn’t even know how to clean his suit properly and Aunt May ends up doing it for him.

On multiple viewings, it’s clear that this movie had a bunch of deleted scenes. But unlike something like, say, The Rise of Skywalker, where the shortened runtime clearly harmed the movie, here it feels like it was done just to keep up the pace of the movie and the movie still works well without these scenes. That said I would LOVE to see an extended cut of this movie.

    • @FecalMatador
      @FecalMatador 2 ปีที่แล้ว +33

I was a bit perplexed by Strange. He started the spell before the two of them clarified what it would entail. I thought he was more thorough than that. Peter was a good boy and waited until it was clear that he wouldn't get more info, then he started thinking of implications. Peter knew he had limited time si he started talking when the first thought was made. Strange didn't allow Peter to get info, nor did he allow Peter to ponder about specifics but he did allow Peter to impact the spell despite the dangers.
    This is all on Strange.

    • @TheCrazyOrange
      @TheCrazyOrange 2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

Agreed, kind of assumed they did it for plot's-sake but I would think Strange's character is less likely to do that since (like this video pointed out) he didn't accept to help Peter until it was clear it was for the good of others, and that stemmed from his past learning experience. Idk, that was my only major like "why did they make it like that" after watching the movie in theaters

    • @aspwillow

Actually, it’s been confirmed that Tom didn’t close that window properly and improvised the web moment, hence why he opened it easily. There was no plan to web it shut, and DNEG just had to add the web asset to it as best they could since there was no 3D tracking capability in the scene as it wasn’t needed originally

Yes and later on in the scene, we were also shown that tobey's peter was physically stronger than tom's version as he was able to hold back peter who was enraged and using his full power, with not much effort. This also shows us that the Train scene in Spider-man 2 was far more gruelling than tom's ferry holding scene in homecoming that lasted for like 4 seconds. I guess that pretty much debunks the theorizers who kept saying tom is stronger than tobey.

I think there’s also very important details in the talk they have in prison.
Electro says “…he caused an overload, I was stuck in the grid, absorbing data…”, I think that shows that:
1: he did’t actually die in TASM 2, he just was like absorbed to the grid
2: that could also be the reason he knows Peters identity (justifiing him being brought by the spell), by the data he was absorbing (maybe got something on Peter’s cloud, a chat with Gwen or something like that) that reveals his identity but not his actual face (also justifiing him being surprised by Peter not being black, even though he someway knows Peter Parker is Spider-Man)
Also, what jumped to me as a discrepancy, is that Sandman says Goblin death impaled by his own glider was on the news, weird, since Harry didn’t know that till his butler told him

22:00 There is a reference I would like to add just before this scene: when Peter introduces Norman to MJ and Ned, he calls him "Mr. Osborn"; to which Norman corrects him by saying "Dr. Osborn".
I think this is a reference to Robert Louis Stevenson's story "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde", where Dr. Jekyll is the public, contained, law-abiding individual and Mr. Hyde is all the impulses and inhibitions manifested in an unrestrained personality. Both characters are very much like the movie's Norman and Green Goblin persona.

3:30 The actual reason he webbed the window shut is because Tom Holland improvised it after failing the scripting of closing it normally. They kept it in the film as it was more likely for Peter to do this, and also easier for him.
7:23 This could be a reference to Andrew Garfield's character in The Social Network, in that famous scene where he just goddamn roasts the sh*t out of Jesse Eisenberg's Mark Zuckerberg, and tells him to "lawyer up, a**hole."
9:01 Maybe this is a reference to the well-known tradition in Spider-Man media where the news (namely Daily Bugle) always turns Spider-Man's actions against him to make him out to be a criminal.
13:35 Wong wearing the winter coat is probably more because London is freezing, and it's winter/Christmas in the film, so it'll be cold and snowy in more than just the Sanctum Sanctorum.
15:34 Despite everyone assuming the MIT lady is Rio Morales, I don't think it is. Rio Morales across all media we see her is a school teacher. Also, I know it's a stretch, but with what happens in the first parts of the film, if it was Rio, I think she would most likely have been driving with her husband Jefferson Davis, who due to him being a police officer in all recent Miles media, would be there to protect Rio from anything related to what's happened.
16:01 The E.D.I.T.H error is more likely due to Peter personally disconnecting himself from E.D.I.T.H again, like in FFH. This would cause him to not have the assistance from her AI.
21:04 Norman didn't present himself as helpless, he was helpless. He had just arrived in a world he doesn't recognise, where his company never exists, and is still struggling with the Goblin in his mind. The whole Norman sub-plot in the film before he becomes Green Goblin again is about him wanting help to get rid of the Goblin. He even offers Peter his help to fix the other villains as well as himself. He just needed help from anyone, because he was tired of the Goblin being a part of him.
21:52 I missed the part where that's my problem.

That line in the Multiverse of Madness you talk about, could just be the fact that Strange remembers he cast a spell to save the multiverse by making everyone forget who is Spiderman. So he knows he helped him but he doesn't know who it is now.

The final change to the spell was Peter saying, "Basically everyone who knew before should still know." That brought all the villains into their world.
The whole story that happens is about saving those villains from their fates. While I don't really have an explanation for the ones who didn't know Spider-Man was Peter in their own world, the ones that originally died were saved due to the changes that were made here. Essentially, every one of them that knew before would still know because they were saved from their deaths. So, what if the spell brought them there because that was the way to satisfy the wording of that?

He rushed home to get clothes to look presentable for the MIT lady he wouldn’t have had time to iron it. I commented this to someone else as well it shows his age and his ability to do grown up things Aunt May would usually do like iron his clothes. Prime example he can’t even wash his own suit in the movie Aunt May ends up doing it for him. You even see him wearing wrinkled clothes in other movies before he has even suited up.

I remember adding one of those Easter eggs to the movie that you might have missed
At that time Peter ordered Ned and MJ to look for the Green Goblin via social media. At first glance there is the appearance of a child in an Elf costume that is similar to the character Ian Lightfoot from the movie Onward Also voiced by Tom Holland. That's all I realized

Fun Fact i think is true:
When Strange says "You changed the spell 6 times" Peter corrects him to "5 times", which is not correct, because strange changed it one time himself without saying it, so that he also wouldnt forget Peter.

Really great video. One thing I wanted to point was the difference in philosophy between Cap and Strange. Back in infinity war when vision wanted to destroy his stone to save half the universe, Cap said lives cannot be quantified like that. That is why he is the first avenger and the one even Mjollnir deemed worthy of its power.

Please there's also a detail on which I've been curious about
    1. The fact that doctor Strange was to make everyone forget that Peter Parker is Spider-Man including himself, he said "NICE KNOWING YOU SPIDER-MAN" instead of Peter Parker.
    2. At the end of the movie the new spell was to make everyone forgets that Peter Parker is Spider-Man, But he seemed to make some modifications letting him and Wong to remember the incedent later in DS in the multiverse of madness at the restaurant with America Chavez, while MJ and LEEDS didn't seem to have any clue about the multiverse incedent.

Back at the bridge fight, and when Otto was about to stab peter. Suck it up Spider-Man troll snowflake lovers, it’s time for y’all to get butt hurt with facts about this movie. Sorry for messing y’all up with y’all’s tissue and lube with Spider-Man🤣🤣🤣. Mess up number 1, this is 100 percent fan service instead of a enjoyable movie which kills a lot of things. Mess up number 2, they made Dr. strange look stupid when clearly he is smarter than Spider-Man and can prevent him from escaping and take box away from him like it’s nothing. Mess up number 3, Only in Kevin Feige’s dumb little mind that Spider-Man can beat Dr.Strange in his own meer dimension lmao. Mess up number 4,This movie is really all about Spider-Man getting into MIT which is definitely a dumb way building this plot around. Why didn’t he just go to another college? Not difficult to do lol. Mess up number 5, the pacing in this movie is atrocious and it drags on during multiple parts for way to long and the action in this movie was so bland.mess up number 6, what was the point of curing the villains, only just to send them back to their time line and die? It just doesn’t make any sense🤣.
