    Dang that snap on torque ratchet is sweet! That was a cool bottom end build!

    Thanks for making this detailed video. Appreciate it.

    Yes ur right longer stroke will give u more compression cause ur increasing the cyl volume but the only way to tell is measure the new dish and chamber with the new stroke

      Talking on the fly and wasn't thinking. Mostly do farm/industrial, so they don't care about performance. I've only done a handful of performance builds, so it's new to me.

      An increase in stroke has zero effect on final compression. That is determined by the chamber cc's and the piston, which in the case of a 5mm stroked crank, has a raised pin location.

      @@timjenkins6049 what? of course stroke affects compression 5mm increase and a raised pin location is a custom piston. longer stroke crank, longer rod, pin heights in piston, chamber and piston ALL effect compression.

    Nice video. Short block looks good. What are you running your ring gaps at over there?

    • @EngineKrahnicles
      @EngineKrahnicles  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Kept these stock. Hastings rings were spot on. Don't have the numbers on the top of my head. Sam is using this truck for rock crawling and no potential boost in the future.

      @@EngineKrahnicles Nice.. I think I'm chatting with Sam over on my channel. He posted a link to this video. Yeah, for rock crawling stock gaps should be fine. I'm running mine a bit wider on my 22RE, but I do towing and have to drive up monster hills in 100 degree heat occasionally out here. Enjoyed the videos!

    Look at that,I'm number 100 subscriber. Lol. Love the channel. Where in the central valley are u? Awesome shop man,those are some cool freaking machines u have. U didnt measure ur ring gaps to confirm?

    • @EngineKrahnicles
      @EngineKrahnicles  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yup, gaps were measured. I just can't put everything in the video. It would be longer than LOTR directors cut. Can't believe I already got to 100 subs! I wanted to do a cheesy giveaway, but it came up so fast. Send me an email, and I'll send you something cool. enginekrahnicles@gmail.com thanks you for watching, and I'm glad someone likes what I'm putting out.

    I followed the Ray Nada channel link to see the 22R build. I will watch the other videos
    now. I just did my 22R, Windage tray, and double roller timing chain, ( I pulled it from the truck) Way easier to work on, I love watching engine builds, and your engine stand looks like a stout item, what wheels did you put on it? Thank you, JIm, Portland, Oregon

    • @EngineKrahnicles
      @EngineKrahnicles  ปีที่แล้ว

      I built the whole stand from scratch because no one makes a mobile stand that can handle 1,200 lb blocks. Ive made 2 and LOVE them. I'll be making a video on the stand soon.

      I will be watching that video for sure. I have access to a welding and fab shop, so I could make myself one, although I don't really have a need for a big one, just something better than the cheese one I have now@@EngineKrahnicles

    I hope you upgraded the chewing gum timing gears..if not..expect it to pop its cork in 50000 vigours miles..

      The new front cover allows for a double row timing chain. I don't take chances with OHC engines.

    I get tired of mechanics Using Automated tools. Everything is About fasts we can do stuff anymore. It's sick.

    • @EngineKrahnicles
      @EngineKrahnicles  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm all for tools like air hammers to make a job easier and a bit faster, but CNC and getting stuff in and out fast causes mistakes, and less care is put into every job
