Had a custom steel frame built (Road) and splashed out on carbon bars and stem, running 25mm tubeless on it. Can't get my head around the ride quality and comfort. I can't Isolated - would have to put aluminium parts on it to do that, but massively better than my carbon frame with aluminium cockpit running 28mm clinchers. ( Its a trek with their Isospeed system too!) The Enve stuff is lovely and I think in general you get what you pay for. Lovely Bike that!!
Hello Juliet! I’m Nathalie from Montréal (Canada). I love your TH-cam channel. I just bought the same bike few days ago (love it!) but my drop post wiggles a bit and I’m not sure if it’s normal or not (first drop post in my loooog cycling journey!). Do you experience the same with your drop post? 🤔
Hi Juliet, I love your vids and have been a fan for quite awhile but have noticed you frequently forget things. ;-) A habit I've developed over the years is - the night before heading out on an adventure, I take time to sit down quietly and make a list of everything I'll need. This has served me very well and find I rarely leave anything behind. Anyway, something to consider. Happy adventures.
Nice bike I have to say. I'm a relative newcomer to your channel and salute you for being able to do all the mechanical work yourself as I wouldn't have the first notion. I usually get the place I got my bike from to do all my work for me though I wish I could do it myself. I have a cube nuroad gravel bike which has a Shimano grx 2 X 11 set up and us great. I know what you mean about saddles as I had a Selle Italia flx gel flow and over time it eventually started to annoy me so I went back to a different brand that I'd had before an SMP trk medium saddle and I love it but I suspect that I'm not done with changing saddle again at some point. The only one I don't intend using is the one it came with as it was a instrument of torture!
if you are into lightening, then the Sram centrelock rotors are actually quite heavy (150g ish) so consider A2Z/Hope etc. as a small weenie improvement.
Great little upgrades for sure!! Still enjoy your reviews - mainly your general-honest upbeat self that just makes the difference. I’ll certainly look at some of these items - more importantly the Stem and handle bars just for more overall comfort.. Thanks J!
Same here. Look, she's a nice lady but she's really just a sales rep who gets a bunch of free stuff and then shills it. Good for her but obviously there is limited utility in watching these vids for us non TH-camrs.
The Redshift stem is great, that's why I've used it so many times over the years and I expect I'll use it again in the future. I just wanted to see what the new set up felt like without it
Sorry, what was the bar tape? Just done a 4 day endurance ride and had real problems with circulation in fingers. Need to find a more comfortable bar solution.
Try the Silca Nastro Bar tape, really good tape ! It’s a bit pricey, but it has a good grip. I don’t wear gloves it has good cushioning. I have it on my gravel bike on my road bike and my fixed gear bike in this photo of my profile. I have problems with my hands for 12 years a matter what I do especially my left hand just pressure points never goes away. Sometimes it’s good. Sometimes it’s bad I don’t know what it is probably some impingement, but at any rate I’m not gonna say the bar tape solves the problem, but it’s a great tape to have even if your hands get wet you still have good grip.
Left kingswear, too the right is Dartmouth. Taken from next Greenway South Lodge, Agatha Christie's former home now National Trust. Free to walk around the grounds.
Feelings on carbon frames vs. aluminum for sturdiness? I'm terrified to buy a carbon fiber gravel bike because I go wild on single track MTB trails with mine.
Marin rules Todo...(Todo is a Central American word(pronounced toe thoe )in English( the word means TOTALLY!!!)Nice bike, would you please show us a video of a successful ride ,if you stealth camp...?
hey pretty lady, i hate to tell you this, but go look at what happened to that carbon fiber submersable titanic watercraft . a phony sub. it imploded. the carbon fiber would not withstand the pressure and imploded. now your bike is not going to implode for sure. but don't wreck it. carbon is very nice. but i wont buy or own a full carbon frame bike. carbon forks and seat post are ok.All carbon fiber is , is a real strong plastic material. yes you have a plastic bike. i just bought a marin nacasio plus. all steel baby. Steel is real. now that bike can gravel. dem 47 mill tires roll. anyhow take care ,and good riding!!
Beautiful background, the bike looks amazing and Juliet is rocking that sockless triathlete look 😊
What a backdrop for a video! And your nice pleasant cheerful demeanour as always. Makes it so easy to watch the reviews of your bike/changes!
The bike looks awesome, without being overstated😊 Some lovely touches on it too👌
Definitely agree.
Thanks ✌️
That's a beautiful place to stop, and it's not swarming with people.
I love my Marin Headlands II. It’s a great bike for racing and those light weight upgrades are sweet!

Prefer golf socks to those dorky- looking bike socks....crazy🤪 tan lines. 😜 😂😂😂

I write lists too but then I forget to look at them!

I have a Redshift stem suspension and it's fantastic.
Yeah, they’re really good

Thanks for the tip!
Hey Julia, great vid as usual!
Are your Raddlers just the 60 tpi? Or sg2?
I have the 60 tpi which have been brilliant so far?
I love your bike, a general question. How well does electronic shifting deal with being bashed, smashed and filled with dirt?
it handles it pretty well actually!
Great little upgrades for sure!! Still enjoy your reviews - mainly your general-honest upbeat self that just makes the difference.

The bar tape sounds interesting 😮
Does a carbon seat post make a difference?
Interesting that you went back to a regular stem.
I just recently got myself the redshift stem and do like it quite a bit.
Same here.

@@zurichgnome6073Seems that way
Great bike
Looks like dart valley Trail....the full Dartmouth - Totnes loop is a good ride ;-)
looks to be in the field just east of the South Lodge at Greenway. Some good riding and walking around there.
Another fab video x
Lovely bike, would you try a dropper post
I've tried one. I'm not keen on them on gravel bikes but all for them on MTB of course
Hi juliet, what is the advantage and disadvantage of 1 for gear? I am fairly new of gravel bike
nice post!
The only upgrade I got from my sponsor (which is myself) is a second bottle cage that doesn't even match the first one.
Lol you make me laugh. Every video your forget something. I don’t know how you forgot your socks though! 😂
what size crank you running
Did I miss what brand of top-tube bag you have??
It’s Restrap
looks chunky, i like it
M o r n i n g !

@@shirtlessGraveler305 Thank you so much - I will investigate that tape. I'd never really noticed it until this last trip. Guess I'm just getting old!
What town is that in the distance ??
Pretty sure that's Dartmouth.

Nice video...However, now i have Enve envy😢
