I looked at buying this bike but in the end decided to get the Marin Gestalt X11. For me the X11 seemed better value for money and more XC MTB, which is what I was after. Still either bike is reasonable value for money depending what your looking for.
@@mikepfeifer1753 have found the ride surprisingly good even with the original 37mm tyers. These new aluminum frames ride far better than the old ones.
I'll add that a dropper post and the associated cabling adds quite a bit of weight as well. But yeah, the remaining pork in the spec seems mostly down to the wheels/tires/cassette that it comes with standard. I'm still considering this bike as for me, in America, it's so much cheaper than comparable carbon gravel bikes that I can afford to buy it and swap the stock wheels out, while still coming in under the price point of a similarly spec'd carbon gravel bike from, say, Cervelo.
99spokes, is rating this bike as the best gravel bike under 3k would you agree ? if not what do you think is the best gravel bike under 3k in your opinion ?
Great frame to build your own dream bike

G Hardi do you feel like the X has a rough ride? The frame looks Uber stiff. Thanks!

G Hardi awesome. Thanks for getting back to me!

Great review, does the wheels comes tubeless ready?
Would you recommend this one or gestalt X11 ?
How tall are you? What size was that bike?
Hi, i noticed the toe overlap at 05:01 , is it true? May i know the wheel and tire size?
Hi, very interesting review. Why did you write 2021 model? Isn't it this year model 2020? Is Marin going to change colors for 2021 year model?
Thanks
Prodadly a bit like cars, manufacturers launch new bikes to the public half way through the previous year.
Sorry for the slow response. This model (including the paint) is completely unchanged between 2020 and 2021.
Dave.
9.735 grams for a carbon bike? My aluminum Silex 400 was 9.760 grams. Now with one-by and a new set of hoops it is 9.340...🙄
those cheap crankset and wheelset add the fat ... but hey those mountaing points are dreams for adventure ride

Love this bike! Got one too and just recorded a Strava KOM next to the Golden Gate Bridge -- so much fun! Check out the new vid!

Giant Revolt Advanced or Canyon Grail Al are extremely tough to beat for the money.
@@VeloVeloVeloTV but both of them offer zero utility
Recorded KOMs downtown Austin this time on it! Lots of fun. The 1x integrated dropper post is key. th-cam.com/video/Z6RNGXCQEQ4/w-d-xo.html
No 2x compatibility, no buy!
simple as that!
Yep, I feel the same way.
This fit a woman 5’0”
Headlands is pronounced as one word with the accent on head. FWIW.
An overpriced Marin Four Corners, lol... Kidding.
A four corners would last longer.
@@Kaosad69 I can testify. Amen.
