    Love the fit content! I''m now running the 205/55/16 on my 2nd gen sport wheels (16" x 6")! They're like big ballons but I don't mind. There's no rubbing and it's so nice for the Michigan roads. Know you have the newer gen, but any idea if I could get a set of wider aftermarket wheels (6.5" or 7" wide) with these same tires, and not have any rubbing/fitment problems? Think wider wheels would improve the cornering, which can seem to trip up sometimes. But I'm worried the combo won't fit...

      Check out the FaceBook group "Honda Fit Owners Club" you should find some better info the I could give you on the earlier models or tracking your car.
      If the tires fit already, you shouldn't have a problem with a wider rim IMO. Just keep an eye on the offset.

    Im planning on doing this with my fit. I also wanna lower it about half inch to ride at stock height. Maybe 3/4 inch lower, it seems like a full inch drop would rub all day. What offset are your wheels? My options are either 38 or 42mm.

      (15" Rim & Tire)
      205/60/15 = 627mm
      205/60/15 = 621mm
      195/65/15 = 634.5mm (Slightly larger, may rub in front)
      185/65/15 = 621.5mm

    When carrying a load, it does not rub against the measure 205 55 16?

    • @HondaFit4Adventure
      @HondaFit4Adventure  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      95% of the time it does not.
      In this video you can see when I go over the 4x4 slowly it never touches the fender or fender liner.
      When I went over the 4x4 with some speed, the car dropped down fast enough to gently rub.
      So in real life; Occasionally on the tollway if I hit a big enough dip in the road it will rub. It just makes a small noise, its never rubbed hard enough to scuff up the tire.
      In this video th-cam.com/video/DP_elvzlCn8/w-d-xo.html you can see some shots of when the tire rubs, but only in extreme scenarios lol

    How much does lifting the Fit affect MPG and handling on highway pls?

    • @HondaFit4Adventure
      @HondaFit4Adventure  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi Alex,
      The Roof Rack was already effecting my MPG so it's kind of hard to answer that question accurately. Given that the set up in this video is only .5" higher I'd assume it'd be minimal. Handling on the highway/tollway is still fine.
      I'll make sure to include that information when I add the actual lift kit.

  • @ItsaMe69
    @ItsaMe69 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Any issues with the tire scraping on the fender? I do travel with 4 people in my fit often but would not want to get that size if I’m Gonna end up just getting scrape every time I put a drop lol. And also does it ride smoother with a bit less road noise?

    • @HondaFit4Adventure
      @HondaFit4Adventure  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      With this particular setup, I had little to no issues at all.
      My rear seats are removed but we did add the additional weight of the roof rack and cargo basket.
      The max weight capacity for the Honda Fit is about 850lbs or 4 passengers and some cargo.
      My total cargo weight with driver in this video is 652.6lbs
      Roof Rack 216lbs (Wet Weight, 4gallons gas, 4 gallons water)
      Interior Camping Gear Full Size Spare Etc 208.6lbs
      Driver 200lbs
      Back Pack and water 28lbs
      If I was fully packed with a passenger I would occasionally rub the fender liner if I hit a dip on the tollway. (880.6lbs!)
      (No damage was ever caused to the fender liner or tire. It was just audible)
      On my North East Road Trip (Solo at 650lbs weight) I don't even recall it rubbing in the 5000+ miles that I drove.
      I've since removed my roof rack setup (about 200lbs) and I haven't rubbed since.
      In the Timelapse footage of me removing my roof rack you can actually see the car slowly lift up after removing the basket setup, giving me a bit more clearance then the measurements that I showed in this video.
      I know that's not a direct answer to you question but it's best answer I can give you based on my experience.
      You might want to check out my other video.

    • @HondaFit4Adventure
      @HondaFit4Adventure  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hi there. I'm currently on 205/60/16 with almost no rubbing.
      205/60/16 is 10 mm larger in diameter then the 215/55/16.
      Even though your tire suggestion is smaller in diameter, I'm afraid the 215 width would rub on the suspension components.
      Here is a timestamped video of what you will probably rub against with a wider tire th-cam.com/video/TMuQgsflCfo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=rUKifd3vd8Txskia&t=620
      You would need a hub spacer or a rim with a different offset to make that tire work.

      @kadiryildiz5909 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for your answer. I guess 215/55/16 doesn't seem like a reasonable option. At best I'll go with 205/50/16. Do you think I'd have any problems with that if I took the plunge and went with 205/55/16?

    • @HondaFit4Adventure
      @HondaFit4Adventure  28 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@kadiryildiz5909 205/50/16 is close to the stock rim and tire diameter. The only difference would be your offset. I think the OEM offset is 45 while your rim is a 35. That being said, I don't think you will have any issues using a 205/50/16 on a 35 offset rim.
      For the most part, I think you will be fine with the 205/55/16 tire on a 35 offset rim too. If you're purchasing tires through a big name store, they most likely will test fit the tire on the car first to make sure that it clears everything since it isn't a standard spec tire for the car.

      @@gloriousrunningpotato The stock rim can handle 205/55s and that has a 35-48 offset. You'll be fine.

      @@gloriousrunningpotato I forget what offset TrngHdz has, but he is also on 205/55/16s and had room for the WilWood brake kit 😎 instagram.com/p/CflEVfgrQPz/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
