Is the Rapido 40 the ultimate performance trimaran?

I had the chance to come onboard the Rapido 40 trimaran hull 3 at the Miami boatshow. She is one of the most exciting multihulls I've ever visited : imagine a pure racing trimaran that also boasts 2 double cabins, 1 full head and shower compartment, a well designed galley and enough storage to sail around the world. No wonder the famous blogger la Vagabonde love her. I would definitely sail her all the way back to Tahiti.

which is better for comfort cruising? this or the dragonfly?

Hello John it depends where you want to sail and what comfort level you expect. The Dragonfly are more luxurious, northern european climate kind of boats. They don't perform as well but still very nicely. None of these 2 brands offer you the space you'll get on a cruising catamaran or a Neel trimaran. Rapido is working on new models with extra cabins...

Thanks for your comment. The Dragonfly 40 is a great trimaran I agree. Probably less performance oriented but greater comfort inside. It s always a trade off between weight and performance

Thanks @felixflecha3950 . You're absolutely right when I am on land I am not a sailor 🙂 But from time to time I do a bit of sailing. Would sailing accross the Atlantic 4 times and twice accross the Pacific qualify ? And yes I do prefer the Pacific islands to the Caribbeans
