yo all you people mentioning about top speed. this isnt about that. it meant for cruising and touring mostly not for those drag race or street racing. if you want those kind of bike with high rpm and top end high speed better not buy these kind of bike.
People are interested in top speed to know if they can cruise the highways at highway speed comfortably. That is important for places like the Americas where longer roads with higher speed limits are a thing

Hello sir! Good morning! We're planning to go for the best bike under ₹5 lakhs in exchange for our Duke 200 and Classic 350 Reborn as we are planning to keep only one bike as my father commute daily by four-wheeler only majority of the times and already have Vespa VXL which is sufficient for him to commute nearby! The purpose will be the city commute and the long tours as and when required! The bike which can cruise or maintain at least 100-120 kmph all day long and can give decent fuel economy of 30+ kmpl! Also, with good after sales services! I liked Aprilia RS 457 a lot but we don't have an Aprilia showroom in our city! Any other options?? Your suggestion would be helpful for us! Tnx in advance! 🙏
Get a speed 400/scrambler 400x Not only are they comfortable, they can easily do 100kmph of cruising, have plenty of torque for some fun, sound decent, top at around 160-170kmph, have a comfortable riding position and build quality and fit and finish of the bike is just amazing. The best 400cc imho, fast yet nimble and can be used as a cruiser, and most of all, you can almost buy two of them in your budget The rs457 is not a cruiser, it's a sports bike. You most definitely can't use it for long tours.
The way you you defined your needs is the deciding factor of my opinion I think you should get a 160cc or 200cc bike [Around 135kmph topspeed, easily maintain 120kmph, 30+ fuel economy] and do checkout HONDA HORNET (either 160cc variant or 184cc variant)

A duke 250, only 29.5 bhp, can touch 155 kmph (and it doesn't have much speedo error) Mere 155 from a 49 bhp bike? 29.5×1.66=49, duke's aero is better, but it's better enough for classic-looking motorcycles to require nearly 70% more power? No!! It's FACTUALLY NOT even close to being that big of a difference. Didn't the 1st version of interceptor 650 have top speed of 180ish? Yes, it did. I refuse to believe that RE isn't electronically limiting their bikes. I don't have the equipment to test for that, but I'm 99% sure that they're electronically (via ecu) limiting speed. Why would RE do that? I can only guess that maybe motorcycle geometry isn't meant to handle well at those speeds or maybe electronics like ABS sensors etcs aren't good enough to function properly at those speeds (due to this being a budget-friendly 650, compared to the likes of kawi 650, CBR650R or MT07) or maybe just RE being pretentious again 🤷♂️ who knows?!
Dude, i do believe you know that a naked sport and a cruiser are two different categories and the purpose of the engines are completely different. The duke 250cc is a high revving undersquared engine meant to push out as much power as possible and the RE 650cc engine has a long stroke that is meant to produce high torque. In simpler terms, the duke is meant for speed and sudden bursts of power and the shotgun is meant for comfortable and sustained cruising at a comparitively lower RPM. Adding more to my argument is the gearing setup and power to weight ratio too. By your logic, a 1800cc harley davidson engine should be faster than a 998cc panigale, but the reality says otherwise. Each engine is purpose built with different characteristics to suit the requirements of the bike. Let me give you some power figures from harley to get you to understand my point. 883cc - 49 hp & 58 ft lbs torque 1200cc - 61hp & 70 ft lbs torque 1920cc - 94hp & 124 ft lbs torque Ducati Panigale v2 - 955cc - 155hp & 77 ft lbs torque Panigale v4 - 1103cc - 216 hp & 89 ft lbs torque Hope you understand that "bigger cc doesnt mean more performance" and stop being a dumb nut.

5th and 6th isn't any good as one can see from the speed differences.. the engine is just a twin, not a performing twin. The N650 engine is more compact, takes less engine oil, more power, mileage and 160 kmph is a joke.. no offense, but RE has to make a real twin.

BS3 650cc Conti and Interceptor used to cross 170kmph. Now they barely touch 160.
