  • I finally got my AntiGravity Lithium Battery. Never get stranded again? This battery is equipped with the restart option which has a reserve tank that has enough stored power to allow you to start the car.

    I’m in the market for a new battery since I know the days are numbered for the OEM Varta in the ‘15 Vantage GT. I know two things: It will be lithium-ion and it won’t be Chinese. Right now I’ve got a 6 pound Braille unit in the Cobra which doesn’t get driven much. There’s no parasitic draw to speak of and voltage is holding steady right around 12.95 volts checked monthly while in storage. The 39 pound weight reduction is most welcome. I look forward to similar results in my Aston. Video done well, thanks.

      They are really strong on start up cranks.

    Thought I would weigh-in on my experience with Antigravity. Would not recommend.
    Cranked the car great, and would drive around town fine.
    Once I put the GTR on the track, it was not happy. Lots of error codes:
    P1550 - Battery Current Sensor
    C1109 - ABS actuator and control unit power supply voltage
    C1145 - Yaw rate sensor malfunctioning
    Car actually shut down during a lap and had to get towed off. Drove to AutoZone, bought a standard lead acid battery and finished my weekend.
    Yes, it was kept on the tender. Yes, the connections were solid. Would have kept quiet and moved on to another lithium ion brand (which I have and zero issues), but Antigravity’s support was bad enough to share my experience.
    In short, zero help with logistics of shipping it back and more importantly despite their website and warranty form stating they offer a refund, they don’t. Best they will do is ship you a replacement.
    Didn’t want a replacement given my experience, thankfully the shop I bought it from took the replacement into inventory and the shop refunded me.
    Stay away.

      Thanks for sharing your information and experience with Antigravity. I will definitely share and vlog if I have the same experience on the track. I am not affiliated or sponsored by them. After sales support is very important and I do agree they should have taken care of the shipping back and forth or if stated in their warranty a full refund. Reputable companies should honor their warranty. Glad to hear everything worked out for you. Thanks for taking your time and responding to my vlog!

      Message Gerald at Invision Auto Imports he should be able to get you into the right battery size for your application.

      @@phothrottle I think that a full tank of gas weighs about 50 pounds in my 2011 Mustang., so I’m trying to drop about that much. Have you ever noticed that your car feels considerably lighter when it’s on empty? I think dropping 50 pounds is about where you start to notice the difference. My plan is to have lighter window glass put in the car also which will save about 30 pounds

    • @phothrottle
      @phothrottle  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @harrisonclark4382 yeah I agree when you lose that amount of weight you definitely notice it in the corners. If you lose all that top heavy weight it will be very noticeable.

    I'm about to buy an antigravity but saw the comment about error codes and getting towed off track. My 2018 GTR Premium is 99% dedicated track car. Do you have any more info about this situation ? I really don't want to deal with codes errors or getting towed.
    Thanks for any info Most appreciated ! Great videos BTW !!

    Got a quick question. I heard Lifepo4 batteries cannot be charged below 0°c... Won't it be a problem when connected to your car's inverter?

    • @phothrottle
      @phothrottle  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm not a 100% sure. My car never sees cold weather. I was told they do perform well just as long as they are warmed up. I should test this batter next winter.

    • @h8GW
      @h8GW ปีที่แล้ว

      Presumably, the battery will start your car and discharge, but the BMS won't let it charge until it warms up.

      Charles those are the wheel covers that comes with Rays Wheels. They are included in every box so the wheels don't get scratches during shipping. Instead of throwing them out I used them to cover my calipers.

    Made in China. If they were made in Korea(Samsung) or Japan (Panasonic) they might be considered a good deal. These batteries are supposed to last twice as long but are 4 times the price of lead acid batteries. just buy a SuperCap jumpstarter and you can save a lot of money!

  • @RajunCajun1

    Price-wise, not worth it. When I can get over 10 years from a standard battery, how is this one going to give me 2 to 3 times the life as AG states. The battery would have to last 20 to 30 years. And these batteries go for $800 or more.
