GT4 Anti Gravity Battery Install

  • I finally have some time to do some of these quick projects like installing this lightweight anti-gravity battery I bought ages ago. I got lucky for once and did not have to reset anything after disconnecting the old battery. The amp hours is less on the new one because I couldn't find the equivalent battery at the time but it should do ok.

    Love their batteries! I have them in two motorcycles and a dual battery setup in my SXS.
    They have great safety features and bms. I had one battery go completely dead (my fault, had a parasitic drain from an accessory I forgot to disconnect), didn’t even get a voltage reading on the terminals with my fluke, I was able to revive the battery with their charger and the battery is going strong now! I was quite impressed

    The CTEK 7002 won't work for lithium batteries. You will need to pick up the LITHIUM US (CTEK Part No. 56-926). The whip is the same however.

    Antigravity sells the ctek lithium charger. The “safety charge” is probably just an override on the BMS system. Lithium batteries like to stay between 20-80% charge. I could see them putting in a bypass just for emergencies. When it’s dead it’s not really dead it just hit the lower charge limit.

    Wonder how many yr this lituuim batt will last vs AGM ? also does it screw with the PCM charging control ect...

    Ever since you put one of these in your Si, I bought one for my Civic. My cousin and my brother bought one also for their Civics. Then I bought one for my mom's 2021 Civic lol.

    Hey Matt, for a mid engine sports car that battery replacement was pretty darn easy I don’t know about a Corvette but my Silverado battery is in a terrible place jammed in the corner of the Engine bay back close to the windshield. GM decided to save some money and the factory battery has no handles there is holes for the handles but no handles this would make it 10 times easier to remove the battery. I hate when things are made more difficult when they don’t have to be. All I can say is go Porsche have a good one.

    I'm surprisied you dont use something extravagant like a "LiteBlox" Battery.
    They have Bluetooth and you can switch it on or off with youre Phone.
    Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪

    • @AntigravityBatteries
      @AntigravityBatteries 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, not trying to knock Liteblox batteries, but their 40Amp Hour Battery is twice the cost of Antigravity. Additonally, the Bluetooth on/off ability in a battery is not really a desired feature due to the fact that if your phone battery goes dead and your Car battery battery is off how are you going to get the battery going again if you don't have a phone charger? Also the chance of a software glitch in the bluetooth or inability to pair can make the battery inoperable if it is off. So Antigravity has a simple Wireless Remote that can't fail and also has a Manual button on the battery to use if you lost the keyfob. You want to keep a battery relatively simple in terms of it on/off operation. Also they are German company with no distribution in the USA so warranty or assistance is very difficult. Just sayin'

    The older VAG cars would have a draw when they were not locked. Apparently locking the car puts the computers to sleep, cutting that draw. Not sure if it’s still an issue, but was in the mid 2000’s. I had a Jetta that would go dead in a week if left unlocked.

    Just change Noco whip. Or make noco to ctek adapter from extension chords. Just like you are used to do, cut and solder in the middle of the cable.

    Very nice! BTW, you get a larger usable capacity with Antigravity LiFePo4 than with any AGM/lead-acid. So in terms of capacity, that 40 Ah model will be about the same as your OEM battery. Perfect choice. ;)

    #AntiGravity #LithiumBatteries come in different standard sizes like H6/48, H7/94R, H8/49 with capacities ranging from 40 AH, 60 AH, and 80 AH. Cars in cold weather states/countries should use 60/90 AH. The H6/H7/H8 sizes are the same, but are longer 10/12/14 inches. Only the larger H7/H8 batteries are available in the 80 AH capacity, which is closer to BMW Spec 90-92 AH.

  • @codename7832
    @codename7832 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Not sure if your stock battery was also Lithium Ion but if it wasn't you do need Lithium Battery Charger if you want to Trickle Charge it. Otherwise regular battery charger will destroy your Lithium battery.

    Now that I think about it I bet your Porsches PCM has a energy conserving programming in it to where it leaves just enough power to crank the engine let’s say you left the dome light on or something stupid overnight I know my Subaru has it!

    As someone looking to do something similar, I appreciate the tutorial on this. I’ve been eyeing Lithium ion batteries (both from Porsche and Antigravity). Looks like a simple upgrade but I am a bit concerned about the ECU remap on the car currently. Hopefully I don’t have to redo the software upload once the swap is completed.

    • @zed0k
      @zed0k 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wouldn't expect you would have to remap the car. Batteries die all the time, and the ECU mapping stays.
