An old guy at a local bait shop told me this. If you keep and clean a large sheepshead remove the "stone" bone, from his forehead and keep it in your tackle box. It brings you good fishing luck,
Kicking ass as always...let do it finally. I got a new truck..so I can travel..with out worrying I will brake down or get stranded Waiting on your call if still interested Thanks guys...this would be my first You never forget you first..even with first girl friend..lol...first fish is even better.....huh Maybe..lol
Thought you guys were going to be jigging for steelhead but that's ok I cought them the way you guys were fishing. Well done guys. Fished with a Carolina gig with a 4 ft. Leader to my hook for the swivel and air injected in my worm 🐛 to get it to float off the bottom just make sure it float on the surface of the water before you cast it in.
Hey guys nice video, looking forward to hitting the pier the 11-12th. I'm heading up there from Dayton Ohio for the free for all wknd, hoping to run into y'all. Keep the great videos coming guys and keep slamming the skams!
If you guys are gonna be there stop over and say hi, I'll be on the south pier with the Gaston Flag. Never caught a Salmon or Steelhead in my life and I'd appreciate any help or pointers. Matt ps I'm bringing a qt of cured skein from OR, should I pick up shrimp?
Hoping to meet you next week… I will be in Saint Joseph my daughter-in-law is having surgery and we are going up to take care of the grandchildren, my wife and I are retired, we both love to fish, but she will be taking care of the grandchildren which gives me opportunity to fish first I want to learn as much as I can we just started fishing a year ago mostly South Carolina lakes crappy white perch and freshwater stripers, Paul.👍
What kind of the fish girl caught please? The second question you probably don’t like, where is the location? I am from Queens, NY. I have been Niagara River once, but caught nothing. I am very interested in this area’s fishing. So, tell me if you don’t mind. Nice video, gorgeous fish!
I’ve tried your shore rod for steelhead but it seems like the swivel with the bait always stays closer to the rod and never really makes it out there do you think the problem is my main line I use 15lb braid
Hey man, I meant to ask you, we’ve been watching a lot of your videos, at the St. Joseph River Pierr’s north and south, you were catching something called shabebe or bebe? I cannot find anything regarding this fish what is it?
It was definitely a great day on the pier 👍🎣👍You catch the Skams on shrimp or spawn?
Yessir! Got it on shrimp
Fun day!
Great sheepshead from the lady.
Cold water can't come soon enough. Keep the vids coming boys
So excited to go this summer, gonna be a blast! Nice vid!!!
We are too! Thanks 😎

I wouldn’t doubt that at all. Beebs are lucky fish in general, potentially magic
Great video and some nice fish was just thinking they should be starting on the piers. Awesome video
Thank ya! Just getting started for the year
It’s an hour drive for me so I have been waiting to see a vid from you before I get out there I was thinking mor like July but looks like next weekend
Goodluck out there!
Wow what a catch!!! 😯 🤩
Thanks Jen! 😎😎

Sounds like a crafty way to get em!
@@sbsoutdooraction3055 I got pictures I can show you how productive that fishing hole is
I walk up and down both sides of the pier with different types of body baits and do pretty well.
Always a fun time!

@@OneRoundDown not sure if we’ll be there or not. I’d go with the shrimp tho and try to catch some alewives also 👍

Right on. Not sure if I will be out there or not but best of luck to ya! Tight lines
Great video bro!
Thank ya!
Lol seeing a flathead in Lake Michigan is surreal
I love your videos ❤
Well thank ya we love to hear it!
I didn't know you can jig at pier like that.
Certain times it can be good!
What pier are you guys usually at? I'm in Grand Haven.
We fish pretty much all the west side piers south of ludington
Awesome video
My home town guys and I won't say were I'm out there every day been in the area most of my life.
What's the best conditions to catch the fish on the shrimp?
Will they still be out there now?
Cold water is best
I'm surprised I haven't ran into you yet because not many people fish for drum there .
I’m sure we will one day. Tight lines!
Nice videos bro…what months of the year would you recommend pier fishing and river fishing am from elkhart IN..thanks
Pier and river can be good all year. Fall and spring are your best bet
Going on a fishing trip July 4 weekend. Do you think the steelhead action will be good during that time?
All depends on what the wind and waters doing. Goodluck!
Thanks bro!

Nice video, gorgeous fish!
The fish is a freshwater drum.
Sheepshead aka drum. And any pier on the west side of Michigan has a fishery like this when the conditions are right. Thanks for watching!
How deep far out are you on the pier? I'm going to luddington to pier fish for the first time this weekend. Don't know where to start. Thanks
Try all depths. Just cast far as ya can doesn’t gotta be much
Awesome video! What do you guys recommend for grand haven?
Shrimp and spoons!
@@sbsoutdooraction3055 Gunna try this out tomorrow, thanks!
what size rod for jigging and spoons?
I use a 7’6 st croix eyecon. Longer rods like lamiglas 9ft x11s are a little better for chuckin spoons
@@sbsoutdooraction3055 i was thinking about going with an 8' 6" Okuma rod
I’ve tried your shore rod for steelhead but it seems like the swivel with the bait always stays closer to the rod and never really makes it out there do you think the problem is my main line I use 15lb braid
As long as ur sinkers on bottom and ur line is reeled tight, your swivel is fine anywhere on the line in between rod and bobber
Hey man, I meant to ask you, we’ve been watching a lot of your videos, at the St. Joseph River Pierr’s north and south, you were catching something called shabebe or bebe? I cannot find anything regarding this fish what is it?
Freshwater drum or sheepshead😂🤙🏻
@@sbsoutdooraction3055 thank you, can you eat them? Is there a bag limit or size limit?
what lb test line do you use? and what kind of reel?
12lb main 10lb leader. And just an assortment of random reels for the pier doesn’t gotta be anything special
Sheepshead are underrated!
Amen 🙏
What pier is that?
St. Joseph pier
Can u gave location. Pls
St. Joseph pier
Thanks
What rod reel combo is that?
For the steelhead? 9ft riversider combo
