I still wonder if Sweet Pete's origin is a jab at Bobby Driscoll, the original Peter Pan actor who was dropped without warning when he hit puberty. He could find work after that and eventually became homeless.. He died a sad and lonely death at a young age after that.

One of the reasons I'm not watching the film is that I thought the villain backstory for Peter Pan was tasteless and heartless. I know Disney likes to make jokes about itself now but to tell the story of Peter Pan losing his job when he hit puberty and being moved to a life a crime is in poor taste. This is a tad close too the tragic story of child actor Bobby Driscoll who voiced and modeled for the Peter Pan cartoon. Upon turning 16 Bobby was also abandoned by the studio. He couldn't find work as an adult actor as he was labeled as a Disney child star. He eventually turned to drugs and at 31 was found dead, lying in a deserted tenement building. His body unclaimed for over a year until his mother tried to find him. It might be argued that not everyone knows the tragic story of the Peter Pan actor Bobby Driscoll but if this is true that makes the plot an in-joke, and a cruel one at that. Even Illumination's Despicable Me 3 was able to tell a story of a jobless child actor without connections to an actual tragic event.

Does it really count as "2D" if they're just 3D cell animation with 2D drawn over it? Seriously Roger Rabbit had all 2D animation characters and that came out over 30 years ago. Before CG was even used.
Peter Pan is probably the only Disney child/teen character I was never ever curious about imagining as an adult, and now thanks to this movie, that lack of want has only tripled. Thanks chip and dale movie, I will never get to un-picture Peter with post-pubescent stubble and beer gut again.
Hi! You prob won’t read this but here I go anyway. You’re a great TH-camr that makes quality content. I’m straight up flabbergasted, that you don’t have millions of subs! What I’m trying to say is keep up the amazing content! You rock! :P
Also, that supposed "animated" portion from a Rescue Rangers episode, "Fat Cat Attack" seemed less like an actual episode of the show, and more like it was trying to be a Looney Tunes expy.
So let me get this straight the main plot is chip and dale trying to find Monty after he couldn’t pay his mafia cheese debt before he gets plastic surgery to act in crappy movies made my Peter Pan but old. Tell me if I’m wrong
There are two types of people who like this movie. Those who think DBZ abridged is the pinnacle of internet humor, and those who treated this movie like it was Sonic the Hedgehog 2.5 due to Ugly Sonic being here. I predicted on release that no one would remember this movie or care about it five months after it came out....I've been proven right, I think.
It’s the closest thing we’ll get to a sequel to “Who Framed Roger Rabbit,” only caveat, and it’s a huge one, is that it is in the same vein as Space Jam A New Legacy
When you realize you've been using the "Bad vs Almost Good" meter instead of "Good vs Bad" to keep liking some Disney movies in the last 5 years it's because things are really bad over there.
I loved the movie- but I was also a HUGE Rescue Rangers fan as a kid! I can see how younguns would miss most of the jokes based on the character’s personalities and the old show plots. And back in the 90’s there were TONS of bootleg fake versions of EVERY cartoon that looked off in weird ways. They are hard to find now, but that’s what a lot of the joke was for the main plot. Pretty much most of the jokes are based on things we would remember from the 90’s- early 00’s, and anyone born after ‘95 probably had little chance of getting them as the majority were visual (easy example- the villain roaring at the end and the streamer floats down - just like in the first Jurassic Park). So, yeah. Us old folks and our nostalgia is why it has a great rating. 🤷♀️ 😂
I think you're underestimating how long cultural things can stay with us. I was born in 2000 but I also grew up with Rescue Rangers and weird fake versions of animated movies. One of the most popular youtubers in my country while I was in middle school had reviewing those fake animations as his thing! Not that it disproves your point about nostalgia but I don't think Brian disliked it because he didn't get it(I'm guessing he's about my age?)
Im sorry but I had bindged the show on disney plus with my sister after she was ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED by this film. As an aspiring storyboard artist and storyteller, she went off on how horrendous this film was. From comedy, to meta humor, to plot. I ended up catching her watching the original series this movie was based on and imma be real here, there is literally non of the OG series in this movie besides the characters. These characters are beyond out of character.
Major rescue rangers fan myself, albeit one that discovered it long after its original run. Personally, I find the movie to be an abomination. As a movie, I found it to just be bad. As a fan, it was insulting and so disconnected from the characters as they were in the show that I literally couldn’t find anything I really liked about it. It did make me hunt down a blu ray copy of the original series, so I guess that’s one good thing I can say about the movie.
As much as I acknowledge that the movie is bad, I love it for it. I love how they implemented the animation itself into the plot, and all the cameos came off as funny to me. Gonna watch your entire review, tho, I still know that it is a bad movie lmao
I mean it’s not a crime to find fun in a bad movie show or game I mean look at JonTron he’s reviewed lots of bad stuff and has found something to laugh and enjoy about them
2 reasons i don't wanna watch chip n dale again 1. Bobby Driscoll 2. disney stealing somone's fan art from deviantart. specifically Sora's Hair i felt betrayed and ashamed when i watched it without knowing about Peter Pan's Actor's real life tragic story and then i realized it when i watch some documentary. then people online saw a piece of sora fan art when they realized it. the movie is decent but i would never gonna rewatch it again. ever. sorry i'll just watch it on yotube but only clips and ugly sonic scenes. i am Not Kidding around and if you think i was joking. no. i am not. again. i would not gonna rewatch that film but i will only watch small clips of it. that is it
The one horrible thing I dislike about the movie is how they using ordinary voices and not the funny Chip and Dale cartoon voices. I also dislike it was focus on falling away from Stardom and not on the Rescue Ranger plot.
I think the reason so many people liked this movie is just because of the novelty of it... Like, there's a LOT of references and cameos in this movie, and they have live action, 3D animation, AND bits of 2D animation all in the same movie. Combine that with the powerful drug known as "nostalgia" and no wonder it did well.
21:43 that scene right there is A BIG INSULT to Jurassic Park and to me and the fans and one of the main reasons why I avoid watching the movie and hated it from the beginning
I guess no one who would have given it a bad rating actually watched it because we all realized from the trailers alone that this ain't it. I mean, who wasn't scared off from the terrible 2D CGI
I feel bad for the hardcore Chip n Dale fans who were expecting...you know...an actual Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers movie and not this Hollywood crack-addict fanfiction.
I never understood how people act so normal in a world where theres toons in the real world in movies. I personally believe if toons were alive and running rampart in our world, we would 80% be screwed, because if you think about it, toons have so many abilities and so many ways to kill us that its not even funny. You go to hit a toon with a lever, the head of the toon would just be in the shape of the lever. If the toon used the same lever on us, our heads cave in. Go to stretch a toon out, they would stretch like a rubber band, but if said toon went to "stretch" us, we would probably get our sockets popped or a muscle torn. Getting pushed off a cliff, run over by a spiked tire, even getting a hand or foot accidentally snipped off.....literally all of these injuries are nothing to a toon and they bounce right back to their forms....... So if I saw a real life cartoon in my actual world, even if it's a nice character like Mickey Mouse, my first emotion would still be instant dread because of the possibility of running across more unsavory toons. So that little girl calling little Dale weird was really lucky it wasn't some other toon, cuz that toon would've looked dead at that kid and went "You know what else is weird, Suzie.....If you run me over with a cement roller, I flatten like a pancake but can get back up....and YOU can not....Weird, isn't it, Suzie....."
There's one thing about this movie that NOBODY seems to be talking about... The main villains of the story kidnap cartoon characters to turn them into bootleg versions of themselves. This movie is made by DISNEY. They are directly comparing copyright infringement to _human trafficking..._ Am I the only one who finds that kinda messed up? I mean, they pass it off as more of a joke, because bootleg movies are trashy and ridiculous, but it still feels kinda scummy to me. :/
I didn't mind the movie, enjoyed all the Transformers references in the movie but it honestly could have been better with the references. Overall not a bad movie but smth I would put in the background for just noise, the movie was just bland.
I'd honestly be interested in this movie if all the characters that were suppose to look 2d animated... actually were. I can barely stand looking at this video with how god awfully cheap those cell shaded models look
Disney also stealing fan arts from deviantart which is sora's hair. Disney had no permission to used a fan art and fan artist experts notices it that its the same hair of sora from an artist on deviantart. Disney is too lazy to find sora's artwork that was the nomura version instead going to google and downloading the copy without knowing its on deviantart and put it in the film
I honestly kinda thought that the fact they cast random famous people as voice actors kinda goes with the whole theme of the movie of criticising modern reboots. That's how I interpreted it but I might just be making excuses for bad casting/voice acting.
3/10 is a pretty disingenuous grade. This movie is, at worst, perfectly mediocre with really good cameos. So… Anything lower than a 5 or even a 6 feels just spiteful.
Am I the only one who thought the cinematography was quite bad ? Like, of course the 2D CGI is bad but the overall look of the film is awful. The lightning never looks right, none of the shots are good they all look bad and I can't seem to explain why. It seems like every shit is overcrowded and badly coloured. Terrible.
6:41 All I could think while listening to John Mulaney voicing Chip, was Jack Horner from Puss in Boots: The last wish 🙃 You know... A actually way better Voice Directed character than this! In this movie he is just oozing with sarcasm and passive aggressiveness! Is this his voice in general?
It's almost like the character was sarcastic and passive aggressive. You're literally complaining about a character having his established character traits. Sure you didn't like the character but pretending that those weren't intended? really?
Ever since Ready Player One came out, a lot of studios have been making movies where they try to cram as many IPs that they own into one movie, regardless of whether or not it makes sense for the overall plot and this uninspired slock of a movie is no different on that regard.
Why is this movie getting such positive reviews when I haven’t heard any positive feedback from anyone. Even my sibling who likes the Disney remakes (don’t ask me why) hates this movie.
Ugh you’re right this movie is weird not good weird either. So why did Pete age? No one else did. They can get 3D rendered why doesn’t Pete? (Edit:oh it looked like he did in the end to be powerful but why not make himself pretty prior to that point?) Why does Ugly Sonic exist? Because someone created it? What if I animated some fan art Bowsette does that mean that she could just show up? What about Vtubers? Would their animated skin become sentient? I didn’t see the movie and maybe it’s Roger Rabbit rules where there are toons and they are alive from a different reality and they are cast for shows but if that is the case the aging thing throws me off.
For me its one of those movies that I know is bad. But is just to…comforting I guess? Don’t really know how to describe but I watch it with the knowledge that it isn’t a good film
THAT'S IT EXACTLY! Thank you for understanding why I love how low-key it is! It's not great, it's just doing its own thing. I think that's why I liked it so much
i watched chip n dale rescue rangers once, and i thought it was a pretty decent movie. it has some goods and it has some of its bads, but in my opinion i think there is more bad than good in this movie. I really appreciate the people who worked hard to make this movie, but still i couldn't hide the fact that it was just plain and nothing new, although the mix of live-action, 3d, and 2d in this movie is quite interesting.
I never watched the Chip and Dale show, but my grandparents had the VHS tape of little mini adventures they did, but I can't remember what it was called. They duked out with Donald Duck on a apple farm in one part, and the last part had a cowboy guns blazin' story, the "Lone Chipmunks"
Oh yea I forgot ugly sonic makes mlp cannon to sonic in terms of the multiverse because they both have a multiverse because somehow celestia and starswirl traveled the multiverse in the past via magical mirrors, I’m never researching the mlp multiverse again.
See, rants like this is why the only 2D movies I've always respected were the ones from Dreamworks for now on because I already lost respect for the 2D movies of Disney. Hell, even I was glad I was a Pixar and Jetix (*Toon Disney action block) fan to begin with, besides I'd rather see more Tron and Pirates of the Carribean movies than another stupid Live Action remake.

Seriously Roger Rabbit had all 2D animation characters and that came out over 30 years ago. Before CG was even used.
Spiderverse...
@@kimifw58 spider verse did that FANTASTICALLY. Which I guess is because it used in animated form than live action
Peter Pan is probably the only Disney child/teen character I was never ever curious about imagining as an adult, and now thanks to this movie, that lack of want has only tripled. Thanks chip and dale movie, I will never get to un-picture Peter with post-pubescent stubble and beer gut again.
My biggest issue with the movie was making Dale live action lol. It just looks horrid lol
Yeah, he reminds me of those god awful Alvin and the Chipmunks movies
Hi! You prob won’t read this but here I go anyway. You’re a great TH-camr that makes quality content. I’m straight up flabbergasted, that you don’t have millions of subs! What I’m trying to say is keep up the amazing content! You rock! :P
Hey man, thank you! That means a lot ♥

Sweet Pete was right, Chip'n'Dale in this movie really ARE the worst actors in Hollywood AND in this movie.
I couldnt take the "i screwed up" scene seriously because I was too busy laughing at her namedropping the goofiest ahh nick shows and peppa pig.
17:15 i swear to god i cannot stop imagining ryder with an assault rifle and/or one of the pups deboweling a man
"You cant hurt my feelings if im in on the joke"
DISNEY LITTERALLY PROMOTING THEIR RIVAL LOL
Also, that supposed "animated" portion from a Rescue Rangers episode, "Fat Cat Attack" seemed less like an actual episode of the show, and more like it was trying to be a Looney Tunes expy.
So let me get this straight the main plot is chip and dale trying to find Monty after he couldn’t pay his mafia cheese debt before he gets plastic surgery to act in crappy movies made my Peter Pan but old. Tell me if I’m wrong
I guess so that sums it up pefectly
And just throw in a bunch of character cameos for no reason other than hey I need my kids's brains focused on something because of how dumb they are.
I like DBZ abridged but I HATE this movie.
I'm still wondering why everyone liked the sonic scene it wasn't special, and that thing is still hideous
Just stopping by to help prove you right. I forgot this thing existed.
I thought they did that to call out studios that bootleg their movies or something on those lines
I mean it’s not a crime to find fun in a bad movie show or game I mean look at JonTron he’s reviewed lots of bad stuff and has found something to laugh and enjoy about them
it could be good and lovable
i enjoyed the movie ngl it was a fun watch with my family
so gadget's relationship was the best part of the movie since he didnt mention that :D
The only thing I like about the movie is that ugly sonic appeared.
Lol, for real.
2 reasons i don't wanna watch chip n dale again
1. Bobby Driscoll
2. disney stealing somone's fan art from deviantart. specifically Sora's Hair
i felt betrayed and ashamed when i watched it without knowing about Peter Pan's Actor's real life tragic story and then i realized it when i watch some documentary.
then people online saw a piece of sora fan art when they realized it.
the movie is decent but i would never gonna rewatch it again. ever. sorry
i'll just watch it on yotube but only clips and ugly sonic scenes.
i am Not Kidding around and if you think i was joking. no. i am not.
again. i would not gonna rewatch that film but i will only watch small clips of it. that is it
The one horrible thing I dislike about the movie is how they using ordinary voices and not the funny Chip and Dale cartoon voices. I also dislike it was focus on falling away from Stardom and not on the Rescue Ranger plot.
You could fill a BOOK with the things wrong with this movie.
You know what I think would have been a better idea?
@@stitchlover4381What?
@@doodoopop8385 a reboot series like DuckTales 2017
Love watching your videos keep up the good work
I think the reason so many people liked this movie is just because of the novelty of it... Like, there's a LOT of references and cameos in this movie, and they have live action, 3D animation, AND bits of 2D animation all in the same movie. Combine that with the powerful drug known as "nostalgia" and no wonder it did well.
Oh look at that, beaniie finally got a chair and isn’t sitting on the floor.
Just seeing the clips of this movie again hurts.
I think I enjoyed it because of the meta-ness of it/jokes relating to our world but that's becoming more of a trope
I always preferred Darkwing Duck to Chip and Dale
21:43 that scene right there is A BIG INSULT to Jurassic Park and to me and the fans and one of the main reasons why I avoid watching the movie and hated it from the beginning
the only reason why i find this movie good is because i love laughing at how bad it is.
I guess no one who would have given it a bad rating actually watched it because we all realized from the trailers alone that this ain't it. I mean, who wasn't scared off from the terrible 2D CGI
The movie is 9/10 in my eyes of holy light and smart gratefulness.
7:15
Isn’t that clearly a person sobbing…?
Kinda forcing a little, pal. That’s on you.
It could've been better.
I have no idea why this movie was made. I give this movie a 5/10 but that's just my opinion. I did not hate it but I did not like it either.
Chip is a dog abuser with having that poor lab living in that tiny house 😢
I Hated the way they presented Dale
In this movie
It was basically a movie that wasn't needed
Can you review Lightyear and Minions rise of Gru?
Btw, I actually enjoyed rescue rangers
Oh without a doubt, but I'll probably wait until it's out on digital
I didn't mind the movie, enjoyed all the Transformers references in the movie but it honestly could have been better with the references.
Overall not a bad movie but smth I would put in the background for just noise, the movie was just bland.
I'd honestly be interested in this movie if all the characters that were suppose to look 2d animated... actually were. I can barely stand looking at this video with how god awfully cheap those cell shaded models look
Disney Could Have At Least Made "THE MICKEY MOUSE MOVIE".
I liked it
Except for the Bobby Driscoll thing, that shit genuinely sucks
Disney also stealing fan arts from deviantart which is sora's hair. Disney had no permission to used a fan art and fan artist experts notices it that its the same hair of sora from an artist on deviantart. Disney is too lazy to find sora's artwork that was the nomura version instead going to google and downloading the copy without knowing its on deviantart and put it in the film
11:37 The sheep Chip was talking to at the office looks like a grown-up Shaun The Sheep!
So…
Anything lower than a 5 or even a 6 feels just spiteful.
It’s the 123 movies for me 😂😂😂
Am I the only one who thought the cinematography was quite bad ? Like, of course the 2D CGI is bad but the overall look of the film is awful. The lightning never looks right, none of the shots are good they all look bad and I can't seem to explain why. It seems like every shit is overcrowded and badly coloured. Terrible.
He went to anartica just for an add, what a legend
I cant believe that becuase the movie has to much cameos and references people will say that the movie is good.
11:42, Disney is asking the real questions now, calling yourselves out is a bold move.
I thought the cg and 2d thing with Chip and Dale was to tell which was which
If that's the case then that's sad nobody can tell them apart
Why is this movie getting such positive reviews when I haven’t heard any positive feedback from anyone. Even my sibling who likes the Disney remakes (don’t ask me why) hates this movie.
I don't like this movie I don't like thinking about this movie the more I think about it the more I remember the Horrors I witnessed
THIS movie got more on rotten tomatoes than INTERSTELLAR! THE MOVIE THAT DESIGNED A BLACKHOLE, AND THE 5TH DIMENSION!
Dale going back to Rescue Rangers is him realising his mistake and trying to get back to safety
Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers, AKA: Where’s Waldo?: Toon Edition
Honestly I can’t argue about anything you said about this movie
For me its one of those movies that I know is bad. But is just to…comforting I guess? Don’t really know how to describe but I watch it with the knowledge that it isn’t a good film
THAT'S IT EXACTLY! Thank you for understanding why I love how low-key it is! It's not great, it's just doing its own thing. I think that's why I liked it so much
6:27 With the sole exception of The Heretic from Dark Crystal Age of Resistance. Otherwise, yeah.
i watched chip n dale rescue rangers once, and i thought it was a pretty decent movie. it has some goods and it has some of its bads, but in my opinion i think there is more bad than good in this movie. I really appreciate the people who worked hard to make this movie, but still i couldn't hide the fact that it was just plain and nothing new, although the mix of live-action, 3d, and 2d in this movie is quite interesting.
i'm also giving it 3/10.
Bad movie with a light sprinkling of funny moments
I never watched the Chip and Dale show, but my grandparents had the VHS tape of little mini adventures they did, but I can't remember what it was called. They duked out with Donald Duck on a apple farm in one part, and the last part had a cowboy guns blazin' story, the "Lone Chipmunks"
Oh yea I forgot ugly sonic makes mlp cannon to sonic in terms of the multiverse because they both have a multiverse because somehow celestia and starswirl traveled the multiverse in the past via magical mirrors, I’m never researching the mlp multiverse again.
It's essentially Who Framed Roger Rabbit. It's Disney IP's in a film executed well. Its in a sptey that requires them rather than Ralph 2.
DEAD ASS thought that was Alivn from Alvin and the chipmunks 🤣🤣🤣
The most I like the Rescue Rangers show is when they appeared as cameo in Ducktales
At least the “ Alvin and the chipmunks “ movies and are better than this one 🤷🏽♀️
Honestly, that is kinda factual.
When I first watched it I loved it now looking back at it yea it's bad there is like not a solid story and jokes are terrible
