Hey guys, you probably saw a bunch of videos on the new Cubase update since it came out. Let me know what new features you like the most and if you're planning on upgrading or not :-)
hey Chris, i consider to upgrade. Did you install this version over the 9,5. Or how you do this? if you would install the two versions next to eachother (if possible). Doesn't that take to much place on the C-drive, .? Or, Suppose i install 10 over the 9. , will all the old VST sounds and information still be there. i don't like to take up to much space of the C-drive... Thanks for the info! i Like the intro a lot , cynematic shots!
@@kri2tof788 as always, you install in parallel. Which means you will have to export / import a load of settings. Footprint was about 1 Gig of extra space on my system drive, so not hugely tragic.
I updated to version 9.5 just a month and a half ago and for some reason the grace period doesn't apply to me and I have to pay full update price for version 10 ... So, no I won't update. I'm just gonna wait for a later version and we'll see ...
Yes, but only so 10.5 is less of a hassle. I already own Melodyne so the variaudio and audio alignment is just redundant and probably not as good as Melodyne. Everything else feels like it should have just been apart a free patch update. Given that myself and most people have never used mediabay (Because prior it only showed steinberg products) and it just takes up screen space showing things that are available on the left hand side. The most attractive thing to me is the "easy" side-chain and it feels stupid to spend $100 just for that.
You have a noticeable sympathic french/francophone accent guy Chris ! Well, I'm still using CubaseArtist 6.5.5!, it's the 1rst time I feel the real need to update ! Massive progression till this 10 version ! Mature enough now in terms of visuals+features+workflow ! 329€ says Steinberg shop... disgracefull update policy (and still this stupid USB e-Licenser ! specialy for laptop users !) When you know Presonus propose a 190€ black friday deal for Studio1Pro v.4...and FLStudio20 is 290€ for life... Conclusion: boom, big bill ! ;)
Really love the visual channel strip! I'm still working on Cubase 6, but to be honest it does everything I really need, so if it ain't broke, don't fix it!
I'm also on Cubase 6 artist but thinking of upgrading because of the 50% discount they are offering ($165) for Pro 10. I make electronic music as a hobby, and not sure if it's financially smart to invest in the new version...?
I bought the upgrade from cubase 9 to cubase 9.5 last week after watching one of your vids and now I got the 10 for the grace period, and so far I am loving the new cubase
I purchased the upgrade while I was laid up in the hospital. Now that I’m home and had a chance to install I’ve had a couple hours to play with it. They really did a lot to make it easier to access all the tools and features. I’ll take upgrades like that every time.
Just purchased and downloading now... Definitely worth the price to upgrade! Divide the upgrade cost by number of enhancements and quite a lot of bang for the buck IMO! Thanks Chris for all you do, and most of all flying the flag for Cubase, you are a great brand ambassador!
I updated and it’s amazing. Tons of workflow improvements. I love the new Add Track window and even how accessible the track colour selector is. But the new channel strip and the third party additions are the big deal for me. The new sample content is also good. I just upgraded to Groove Agent 5 too and that is also a huge step forward. On Cubase 10 the Groove Agent SE even gets “The Kit SE” which is superb. It’s like Steinberg has looked at all the best bits of other systems and made them happen here. Not least is the compatibility with Maschine. Cubase has note repeat that responds to Maschine controls! Brilliant stuff - well worth £85.
Vocalign plug-in is around 300. Having this built in is amazing. And its so much easier to use. That alone is worth the money for me. Variaudio looks amazing as well, I’m all in. Will be upgrading soon!!!!
I bought as soon as it came out and very satisfied here!!.. Variaudio 3, AAF, Autoalign, Convert tracks (Mono to Multi Channel and Multi channel to mono IS AMAZING when importing stereo non interleaved files), latency monitor and the new Color popup window are my favorites!!!
Thanks Chris! I appreciate all your very helpful and informative videos! This one makes me consider upgrading to Pro 10 and up to 10.5. I'm currently on 9.5.50 !
Well, a snow storm is exactly the opposite thing to our weather here. Given the lots of videos showing new features of the software it was a good idea to show just your favorites ones. Thank you for your video ❄️
Thanks dude! I'm learning a lot of cool tips from your videos. Also, I love your Quebecer accent (no joke, I'm from Quebec myself) you're explanations are crystal clear and your vocal sounds great :-)
Looks good, running rock solid. Like the new method of setting up side chains. Vari Audio is pumping, but feel there needs to be some visual reference as to how much volume change is applied for comparison to surrounding notes. Love the drag and drop out of media bay into project window. All in all a very good upgrade, love it. And yes, those are five really good reasons.
Thanks for the great video! I'm still in decision mode but fairly sure I will upgrade from 9.5. I love the new VariAudio features you talked about and also the ability to export in AAF. Good stuff! Thanks again!
I've been working with Cubase 6 for a long time now I think it's a good idea to upgrade to Cubase 10. This update is what I have been waiting for all this time 🔥👌🏽💯
Thanks Chris. Great features. Just got the upgrade at 50% off for the 30th anniversary! Good deal indeed. I have to work with it now to find my favorite new features but the VariAudio and Channel Strip already will be great.
I've been working with the cubase for some time now, since the 5 version. One of the biggest problems is not taking advantage of the full potential of the computer at all, if we have a computer with 12 or more cores. For example, with adobe premiere you can see the difference. But, love it, and Chris, your videos are always very welcome, learned alot.
Hi Chris ;-) I have been subscribed to you for a few years , ( before the Beard ;-) )I always watch your posts , & tu^ , but shy away from commenting , I upgraded to 10 late Thursday night , like you my favorite changes are 1/ The range tool and improvements within Variaudio , 2/The alignment tool 3/ the enhancements to the channel strip , which will will encourage & entice me away from my 3rd party plugins , over all the up grade is a very powerful one , with very few sweeteners thrown in I:e only one plug in and no VST Instruments as last time .For me cubase has become a must have over the years , I am a singer songwriter (singer tongue in cheek) ;-) and music has been a hobby of mine since a very early age in the sixties , I have picked up tricks and tips from all over the place over the years on using cubase , but I am by no means a professional or a knowledge of using this great D A W , thats why post's by yourself come in very handy , For me cubase is a tool to realise the songs I hear in my head , professionals would probably record and mix my songs far better than i do myself , but I do my best , I am now on a small pension , and was quite miffed when I saw the up grade price of £85 which was a big hike on the upgrade prices of the past , while I was able to purchase the upgrade this time round , I must ask myself if they hike it up much more in the future then maybe they will lose me , which will be sad , but having said that if they were to make it subscription , then they would lose me any way , which when you think about it with this large increase in the upgrade fee is this what they are working to , I hope not , also It is still to early for me to say whether I think the upgrade price was worth it , only time and working with it will tell me that , Phew !!! That was long winded sorry ;-) keep up the good work Chris and TU^ 55 Trevor
before the Beard ??? OMG LOL! Thanks for reaching out... don't be shy to comment, I love so interaction :-) Yeah, I hear you, but note that the big update versions are always more expensive than the .5 versions which are half the price I think. Like you, I still like it better than a subscription model. Thanks for your comment brother!
@@mixdownonline I also have a beard ;-) not as big a statement as yours ;-) I have been mixing a track tonight and have come across a few things that have not been mentioned in any of their video's , as i said a very powerful DAW , and yes well worth the price ;-) Trevor
@@mixdownonline Pay no attention to me ,This morning I was telling my son about what I had discovered , He upgraded wed night , and assures me that the changes I had discovered were in 9.5 , I had obviously forgot about them , or what is probably the case , blindly carried on using cubase in my normal routine ,and overlooked them , it may be the new interface is so much more usable that I have only now rediscovered them , So sorry about that ;-) nothing to share back with you unfortunately ;-)
Actually it’s not a huge improvement from 9.5 but it’s really useful and can accelerate the workflow! I have upgraded it and i’m pretty happy about this update... Thanks for the video! 👍🏻
I've not upgraded yet, as I follow the mantra "don't upgrade in the middle of a project!", however I will be doing so next week. As well as writing music for picture, I produce songs, so the new features in the 'vari-audio' are a great addition. I also occasionally dub for short films and a dialogue line-up option will save me some time when dropping in clips, as well as for ADR. I'm liking the new snapshot and search functions in the media bay, but I didn't realise that you could drag a preset into the project window to create a new FX instance too...cool! All in all worth the extra investment for my purposes. :-)
Thanks Chris. All nice improvements to a great DAW. I like the new DIStroyer plugin. Also really like the Off Line Editing. I plan to upgrade Cubase 10 in about 2 months. Am buying some new pedals for live performance and can only do so much at one time. So many toys, so little money...
Thanks for a great video, also thanks for highlighting those new features! my main reason is the support of the CPU hyper threading and Intel Turbo Boost! that was a total relief for me! and I also purchased that update as soon as I read that on one of the forums.
Hey Chris, great review. Seems like I just upgraded to C9! I do feel like $150 US in my case is a bit steep, but not bank breaking either. I like the improvements to Vari-Audio, and the audio track alignment is very cool. Having just done a substantial room acoustics upgrade in my home studio, I will probably wait until the new year. The main issue I have with these upgrades is that people will no longer be discussing the older releases, which kind of forces you to upgrade if you want to be part of 'la gang'. Cheers, Dan
Seems like more effort to drag a plug-in all the way from the right hand side to the left, when you could just select it from a drop-down menu from the insert slots in the first place. What am I missing?
You probably haven't tried it yet, but can assure you: it's easier. I compared. Its just way more logical to take something and drag it onto the track or into nothingness for an fx-bus or an instrument, than always going to "inserts", choose the next empty insert slot and then search for the plugin... always having that right panel open makes life already a little easier when mixing.
Loving the new Mediabay, vari-audio 3, audio alignment, the new Distroyer plug-in that just does WOW to my bass drum! and the GUI is smart, smoothe and pleasant to work with. I can not recommend this upgrade more. In my opinion it's the best Cubase to date. Love the Channel, btw Chris, I've learned a lot from you. Cheers.
sir plz make a video on "how to edit audio in cubase 10" i m not getting that option..i used to remove the breath noise by selecting the noisy area and reducing the gain on nuendo 4..But in cubase 10 i'm not getting that option
Hey Chris. I upgraded from Pro 9.5 as soon as 10 was released. Well worth the £85. I am loving it, except that I STILL can't get the two line channel label in the mix console using Win 10. Thanks for all your great videos - I always look forward to a new one.
@@Jan-S-Simonsen Interesting, I didn't get that so far. Small bugs like that always happen with a new upgrade, they will release the first update soon enough
Hello, I recently Upgraded to Cubase 10. And I realized the Volume button is missing in the ' Import Audio' dialog box. Is it shifted somewhere else in the interface or they just forgot to add it? It's a really import feature for me while selecting samples as I don't use the media browser in the Right Zone.
Love your video's strait to the point and the stuff you like, I agree is a real blast. I moved from Sonar Plat to C9 last year and then to 9.5 and now 10 ... I feel the update is a little on the expensive side but with the new stuff it's hard to knock it. My issues are that I don't feel the Mackie protocol has been used to its full potential (I use the X touch) and Steinberg could do more when it comes to user interfaces to oil the workflow in this area, there are an awful lot of control surfaces available and I don't feel they've been catered for. I still feel the Sonar Platinum DAW looks so much more professional when compared to Cubase 10 and easier to follow. I am a daily home user of this DAW and overall it feels impressive ... so good job CB ! ... And keep you YT blogs coming!!
I'm a long time veteran of Cubase, but was on a stupidly old version, I bought 9.5 a week before the release, spoke to Steinberg and they gave me a free update - can't argue with that! Also, I've not seen this mentioned anywhere, but for me initial load times and project loads seem at least twice as fast from 9.5 to 10.
Steinberg always give "free" upgrades to recent purchasers of the previous release - this has been the policy for about 10 years - they refer to it as the "grace period".
sir i have a prob in my cubase 8 pro....that if I import mp3 track with a same name that i have already imported in the pool ...so this new track will replace the old with new name and sound the old track....and the new audio is lost.>>??? can u help me find in this cubase 10....pls thx
Been using Cubase 10 (switched from Pro Tools) for about a month now. Still getting used to it, but I am digging it. Getting faster every week. I bought WaveLab Pro also because, why not? Pretty bitchin' integration. I'm very happy with the switch so far.
Chris, for $99 it's worth the upgrade! I've been using Cubase since SX, Cubase 4! Didn't use for awhile until 7.5. I wish Steinberg would get rid of the dongle key already! I have two accounts or two dongles! One is stricly 8.5 at my home studio and one for 9.5 and 10 for the laptop! I don't like that Cubase 9 - 10 can't access 32 bit plugins so I still use 8.5 for that and then I render tracks!
Cubase 10 (mac os x version) is great, i have used it for many hours by now, only joy. One thing i like as well is the mixer export function of Groove agent se 5, very handy to get all the mixer settings of GA se 5 automatically in the main mixer.
I will make video on back vocals in the future but you can check this video series I made on mixing vocals th-cam.com/play/PLHfS_0liDLINA3IGXMHEGIgU4BqpuRRHy.html
As I commented on Cubase's channel, C10 looks great, but I'm not impressed by Steinberg's upgrade pricing. Having loyally upgraded my copy of Artist as new versions come out, if I want to go to 10 Pro, I get the same price as someone upgrading from anything as far back as 6.0, and only $10 less than someone upgrading from another DAW? It would be nice to be rewarded for loyalty...but now I'm wondering whether to upgrade to Artist now or stick with it for the next version or two then go to Pro later....
Kevin B if you don’t like the pricing (understandably), my advice would be to update only every two releases in the following way: Say you bought the 9.5 this September but didn’t register and activate it. Usually in October or November there’ll be the next update, as is now with 10. then you activate your 9.5 and get the grace period update for 10. lots of people do it like that. Only downside is of course that you’ll get some nice features one year later...
Jan Minor I didn’t know u can use Cubase without activating it. I‘m still on version 9 and think I keep it tho I need sum of da nu features but I think itz more than 150 bucks - datz crazy
I would upgrade immediately even for the €99, as the new variaudio, audio alignment and all the little workflow enhancements seem great, but I recently had my first encounter with the infamous Steinberg support, and they deserve their bad reputation, so I am stilly really angry with them and I don’t feel exactly like throwing money at Steinberg....
Thanks for all your wonderful tips! My question is, in this new digital era with everyone listening to their music by streaming on the computer speakers, earbuds, cell phones speakers how do we mix and master our music? The computer and cell phone speakers sound bad and bright and some of the cheaper earbuds as well. Does the listener expect our songs to sound good on these devices. What point of reference do we go by to get the right compromising mix? Thanks for your time. Take care! Billy
Good question! When I mix, I want my mix to sound as good as possible on my main studio monitors and headphones (Beyerdynamic) . I know those pretty well. I wouldn't mix on cheap headphones or computer speakers but it's not a bad thing to check your mixes on those devices and compare with reference tracks. When I listen to my mix on cheap devices, I focus more on the main balance (the big picture) more than all the other details. Hope that helps... That is a good topic for a video. Thanks!
Been using Cubase 10 now for a while now, upgraded from 8.5. Getting used to it, but i am loving it. Biggest negative thing so far is the lack of support for 32 bit plugins not available. I can understand why, but i have some older loved VSTs that no longer are supported. No problem really it just means I have to keep older Cubase versions installed and use them occasionally just for those VSTs. I keep from 5 onwards anyway, i get sent older version projects which I first open in their recorded version to check before then re-opening in 10. Ps this new Audio Alignment means I don't need to use 3rd party plugins anymore.GREAT NEWS. I love the Sampler track as well which was in ver 9 but I skipped that.
From 8.5 to 10 is a big jump, good for you. Most of plugin companies don't make 32bit plugs anymore. I know that is a drag for some users but I guess that's part of the game
One feature i would love to have , is a way too display the spectrum/spectrogram 'above' the wave view... For example, we load a beat loop, or a hihat sample, we maximize the wave view... and we can enable a spectrum or spectrogram display ... that way, we could instantly see which frequencies are used, if there are any lows in the hihat, etc etc...i think i would pay 50 bucks just to have such feature inside cubase... but because all visualization tools are locked behind the wavelab paywall... no chances for such thing to happen :( I think this update is quite good, variaudio 3 integration, auto alignment, mixer snapshots and a few extra things, are quite cool... without being phenomenal(things like plugin reskins should rather be a 9.6..9.7.. or 10.1 minor update, and not be counted as ^huge^ v10.0 feature...) i still don't understand why, when someone buys wavelab elements or pro, we can't have the spectrum/spectrogram/bargraph tools available inside cubase, as 3 vst cubase/nuendo-only plugins, because the 600$/€ cubase pro comes WITHOUT a spectrum analyser... THIS, i CAN'T accept.
Have asked Steinberg 2 times to implement audio alignment. Now it comes, but the price tag of 100 bucks is a little high I think. But the Vari Audio 3 is a big update. But is the sound quality in VariAudio better than it was before?
Nice video Chris! As a new user of Cubase since June of this year (Cubase Pro 9.5) .I haven't had much time to explore my upgrade to Cubase Pro 10,due to work commitments (music making is a hobby of mine) However really nice update performance is very good etc.But one thing thats been bugging me,is how the new customization of the look of Cubase goes I mean you have four default colours, and then you design your own. In Cubase 9.5 there was much more default colours. I can't seem to create my own custom colour that I like at the minute, lol And you cannot use your own custom colours from Cubase 9.5 in Cubase 10 (there is a feature in Cubase support on this) Overall, its a great update, hope to start working on it soon,no doubt there are bound to be teething problems, but I'm sure Steinberg will have that sorted out Variaudio 3 looks really cool, snapshots for the mixer will be handy,as well audio alignment feature
FL Studio users got that Media Bay for years :D Just joking, this looks so good. I'll consider to upgrade from Cubase 8 to 10 (: Nice video thanks btw.
Hi Chris, I know it's been asked before but have they finally fixed it so that we can see a useful triplet grid (or anything other than straight 8th/16th) in the audio edit window. We've not had this for over 6 generations of CB now and makes it extremely difficult to know exactly where to drag hitpoints etc to a triplet or dotted note.
Thanks Chris! Its damn near perfect, if it proves stable. (it seems great so far) I just pray for the "Change track color by ctrl + scroll" option to come back. Haha
I'm still on Cubase 7 and am debating whether or not to upgrade to Cubase 10. If the update/upgrade still has bugs (as I read from some comments), I guess it would be safe to assume that those will be addressed and fixed by Steinberg?
Hey Chris!Great video, been thinking for awhile about upgrading to pro as i am currently on cubase 8.5 artist. The artist version comes with halion sonic se2 and im wondering what version of Halion sonic does Pro10 have?.Also wondering what the orchestral vsts are like? as i use orchestral arrangements and the sounds on halion sonic se2 arent that realistic sounding compared to some of the other vst instruments i have used on logic and the expand plugin on protools.
Hey Josh, As far as VSTi, Artist and Pro share the same versions. As far as the orchestral vsti, did not work with them yet. Heard some good stuff out of them though. Here's a link for Artist vs Pro new.steinberg.net/cubase/compare-editions/ Don't forget that all upgrades are 50% off until June 3rd ;-)
+1 for this comment. Does anyone know if this is fixed? It's been a pain for over 6 years now - it's like no-one at Steinberg listens to us. How this has not been fixed for so long is beyond me!
Hey, Chris Selim i have a lot of problems , the audio Connections changes every time crazy i do presets not help. problem 2, the sound is gone is on the left side. how do you delete in connection device stereo and mono, is to complicaded? how to set up right. how is it possible the problems com back again.
Hey Chris - I just discovered that Cubase 10 also supports AAF _import_ - that's going to be a big advantage when mixing Pro Tools sessions, I guess it would happen more often than the export if you're a mixing engineer?
Ty for the video! Like it as usual and coming from you! :) A few days ago I upgraded to Pro 10 from Pro 9.5. But I haven't used it much yet and still have 9.5 installed… So, haven't tried the new features much yet, but one thing I look forward to use is the new "vocal alignment", etc. I guess this upgrade is not much different from 9.5, but there are some improvements though. But will they significantly change my workflow? Like the new feature where you can take a snapshot of the plugins and VST instruments and grab a plugin from there to insert it on a channel, create a new track, etc? Still the text for the plugins is not easily read from there… I mean if the text is too long you wont be able to read it all by hovering the mouse over the image... So you might think you grabbed a mono version of the plugin but it's a mono/stereo version, etc... One other thing is the new GUI... It looks a bit different but I'm not sure I like it, it looks very "simplifide" now with only "black and white"? Like going from Win10 to DOS, lol! But might save a lot of computer resources? So I'll probably stick to the new look!
On my side, it will increase my workflow when working with Variaudio 3. The snapshot feature is useless for me since I do a lot of automation and Snapshot doesn't support automation. C10 is a great update and C9.5 still is a good version
Chris, will Cubase 10 only include Pro version? or there`ll be an upgrade for Artist as well? Also, any news about new Steinberg CC121? Come on Steinberg, we`re all waiting for new version of CC121!!! Great video as always, cheers.
@@mixdownonline I contacted Steinberg with the question regarding new Cubase controller/updated version of CC121 and they said that there is nothing like that on their roadmap at the moment. Shame.
I have OS X 10.11 I updated Cubase 10.0.5.0 to 10.5 and it will work and my Mac Can't update. will this update work for me in the future because i love this update, if not that is the end of Cubase future update for many users like me
Hey Chris I'm only into recording, editing mixing and mastering. No instruments and stuff, is it worth getting the pro on my end instead of artist or something?
Yes it is to be honest. Things like VariAudio, VCA Faders, Audio Alligment, Listen Mode...COntrol Room etc... are found in Pro only. Here's a link with all the differences between Cubase versions new.steinberg.net/cubase/compare-editions/
Hey Chris, nice review! I'm still on Cubase pro9 but gonna update soon, couple quick questions: did all you settings carry over smoothly? and could you do a comparison of a project from 9.5 and 10 to show how the cpu is? thanks man and you gotta love these Canadian winter's, I'm in Calgary. Cheers man
I didn't import all my preferences and shortcuts yet cause I'm still working with 9.5 for ongoing projects. Yes, I will do a vid on cpu speed from 9.5 t 10, good idea! ... You guys also have solid winters, but at least you get chinook weather once in a while.
Silly question. On 7.5 I was able to go back on the edit window to where my curser started by hitting 1. What is the function in 10 pro please! Thx in advance man.
You're probably taking about hitting 1 on the right Keypad cause 1 has always been for the Selection Tool... On the RIght Keypad, hitting 1 will bring the cursor to the LEFT Locator... To return to the beginning of the project, the default key command is: (.) on the keypad (Return to zero) Here's link for the default key commands in Cubase steinberg.help/cubase_ai_le_elements/v9/en/cubase_nuendo/topics/key_commands/key_commands_default_c.html

i just got the cubase 10... i saw that you had a structure tab for verse chores and things....i can not see that in my track options how did you do that.
Many Thanks for this video! I am planning to use the current 50% discount and upgrade to C10... Cheers, Max T. Update: I have purchased the upgrade from 9.5 to 10, I assume that I need to download the full Cubase Pro installer (21.13 GB) and there is not a smaller update file, correct? Many Thanks, Max T.

They _finally_ added plugin bridging? About damn time!
Where is the Groove Agent 5 manual?
Vocalign plug-in is around 300. Having this built in is amazing. And its so much easier to use. That alone is worth the money for me. Variaudio looks amazing as well, I’m all in. Will be upgrading soon!!!!
I bought as soon as it came out and very satisfied here!!.. Variaudio 3, AAF, Autoalign, Convert tracks (Mono to Multi Channel and Multi channel to mono IS AMAZING when importing stereo non interleaved files), latency monitor and the new Color popup window are my favorites!!!
The Mono-Stereo feature is a great one, came from Nuendo!
Cuba’s is all I use and always been happy with it since 2010 till now so happy the 10 is out just saw this video but I’m gonna get my copy ASAP.....
Have fun!
Thank you very helpful! I'm going to upgrade all the way from Cubase 6.5 to Cubase 10. Wish me luck
Ive just upgraded from 9.0 to 10 Pro
You will love it!
@@mixdownonline Thank you that's great to hear!😊
how was that upgrade?
Thanks dude! I'm learning a lot of cool tips from your videos.
Also, I love your Quebecer accent (no joke, I'm from Quebec myself) you're explanations are crystal clear and your vocal sounds great :-)
Looks good, running rock solid. Like the new method of setting up side chains. Vari Audio is pumping, but feel there needs to be some visual reference as to how much volume change is applied for comparison to surrounding notes. Love the drag and drop out of media bay into project window. All in all a very good upgrade, love it. And yes, those are five really good reasons.
Vari Audio 3 features are sooo dope. I know what im getting myself for christmas ;) Great video as always Chris!
You're welcome!
thanks for blowing my mind! my favorite? the vari audio upgrades alone are worth it, id say thats my favorite but everything else is great also
I was literally waiting for your video for cubase 10 👍🏻 I learn a lot from your videos ! Love from India 🙏🏻
You're welcome!
first time using cubase and I am loving it I will continue as I bought the ten
Happy you love it :-)
Thanks for the great video!

You will love it for sure, enjoy!
I will update yet alone bc of VariAudio 3 and the Alignement function! The workflow improvement alone with these 2 things is worth the €/$ in my case!
Definitely!
I think they fixed that on the new version. Thanks for watching :-)
@@mixdownonline Ok then, glad to hear that. Will try it for sure!! Regards!!

Love Cubase pro 10 big change great features, has really helped organize my workflow!
Great video Chris as always.
Thanks brother :-)
Actually it’s not a huge improvement from 9.5 but it’s really useful and can accelerate the workflow! I have upgraded it and i’m pretty happy about this update... Thanks for the video! 👍🏻
You're welcome!
Thanks for the video! Good info. Finally upgrading this weekend from Cubase 5
Cool stuff, James!
Still on Cubase pro 9.5, looks very good may do so very soon! Thanks for your efforts
You're welcome!
You're welcome!
Cheers, Dan
Hey Dan, I get you! that's the thing with an upgrade, you need to check if it's really worthed according to your needs. Btw, it's $150CAD ;-)
and i will love to meet you in person soonest you are one of my biggest hero in production
YEEEEEESSSS! I see Audio Alignment, get tunnelvision, buy upgrade :P This is huge.
Seems like more effort to drag a plug-in all the way from the right hand side to the left, when you could just select it from a drop-down menu from the insert slots in the first place. What am I missing?
You probably haven't tried it yet, but can assure you: it's easier. I compared.
Its just way more logical to take something and drag it onto the track or into nothingness for an fx-bus or an instrument, than always going to "inserts", choose the next empty insert slot and then search for the plugin...
always having that right panel open makes life already a little easier when mixing.
i update from to 9.5 .. and this version is perfect for me.. Thanks Steinberg:)
Cheers.
Thanks for watching, happy you like the channel!
sir plz make a video on "how to edit audio in cubase 10" i m not getting that option..i used to remove the breath noise by selecting the noisy area and reducing the gain on nuendo 4..But in cubase 10 i'm not getting that option
Hey Chris. I upgraded from Pro 9.5 as soon as 10 was released. Well worth the £85. I am loving it, except that I STILL can't get the two line channel label in the mix console using Win 10. Thanks for all your great videos - I always look forward to a new one.
Same here for the channel label... you're welcome, thanks for watching!
Chris Selim - Mixdown Online I’ve also noticed a glitch in the channel strip graphics to the right of the limiter on some track types.
@@Jan-S-Simonsen Interesting, I didn't get that so far. Small bugs like that always happen with a new upgrade, they will release the first update soon enough
@@mixdownonline it's not spoiling my enjoyment though 😀
Hello, I recently Upgraded to Cubase 10. And I realized the Volume button is missing in the ' Import Audio' dialog box. Is it shifted somewhere else in the interface or they just forgot to add it? It's a really import feature for me while selecting samples as I don't use the media browser in the Right Zone.
Maybe they will put it back in on the next update
@@mixdownonline Thank you
Love your video's strait to the point and the stuff you like, I agree is a real blast.
Thanks for sharing :-)
I'm a long time veteran of Cubase, but was on a stupidly old version, I bought 9.5 a week before the release, spoke to Steinberg and they gave me a free update - can't argue with that!
Also, I've not seen this mentioned anywhere, but for me initial load times and project loads seem at least twice as fast from 9.5 to 10.
Good to know, I will be testing the performance soon enough
Steinberg always give "free" upgrades to recent purchasers of the previous release - this has been the policy for about 10 years - they refer to it as the "grace period".
sir i have a prob in my cubase 8 pro....that if I import mp3 track with a same name that i have already imported in the pool ...so this new track will replace the old with new name and sound the old track....and the new audio is lost.>>??? can u help me find in this cubase 10....pls thx
You can rename the old one from the pool before importing the new one or rename the new one bofore import
Been using Cubase 10 (switched from Pro Tools) for about a month now. Still getting used to it, but I am digging it. Getting faster every week. I bought WaveLab Pro also because, why not? Pretty bitchin' integration. I'm very happy with the switch so far.
Pretty cool! Happy the switch works out! You will love working with Cubase :-)
I don't like the dongle much as well!
For 32 bit plugins in Cubase 9 or 10 use Jbridge (PC)...google it.
Cubase 10 (mac os x version) is great, i have used it for many hours by now, only joy. One thing i like as well is the mixer export function of Groove agent se 5, very handy to get all the mixer settings of GA se 5 automatically in the main mixer.
10:33 Yes, this! It doesn't change anything but it is more appealing to work with!
Don't have money at this time but cubase 9.5 or 10 is on my first to do list come from ghost town produc
Ouch Chris.... that snow looks pretty bad! :-) Hope Cubase 10 keep you warm in the studio....

... and, yup, already working with v.10 and enjoying it so far....
Kevin B if you don’t like the pricing (understandably), my advice would be to update only every two releases in the following way:
Say you bought the 9.5 this September but didn’t register and activate it. Usually in October or November there’ll be the next update, as is now with 10. then you activate your 9.5 and get the grace period update for 10. lots of people do it like that. Only downside is of course that you’ll get some nice features one year later...
Jan Minor
I didn’t know u can use Cubase without activating it. I‘m still on version 9 and think I keep it tho I need sum of da nu features but I think itz more than 150 bucks - datz crazy
I updated to version 9.5 just a month and a half ago and I have to pay full update price for version 10 ... That's some reward !...
+Giulio Boobzilla Ableton upgrade from 9 to 10 suit is 245$ Lol

OMG 😮
4 real?
I would upgrade immediately even for the €99, as the new variaudio, audio alignment and all the little workflow enhancements seem great, but I recently had my first encounter with the infamous Steinberg support, and they deserve their bad reputation, so I am stilly really angry with them and I don’t feel exactly like throwing money at Steinberg....
Sorry about that Jan... I never had to deal with the Steinberg Support so far.
Thanks!
lost credit card, fall twice, still is a very succesful night. :) you are very positive, i like you.
Thanks, I like you too :-)
Super Helpful! I am going to upgrade!
Enjoy!
For example, we load a beat loop, or a hihat sample, we maximize the wave view... and we can enable a spectrum or spectrogram display ... that way, we could instantly see which frequencies are used, if there are any lows in the hihat, etc etc...i think i would pay 50 bucks just to have such feature inside cubase... but because all visualization tools are locked behind the wavelab paywall... no chances for such thing to happen :(
I think this update is quite good, variaudio 3 integration, auto alignment, mixer snapshots and a few extra things, are quite cool... without being phenomenal(things like plugin reskins should rather be a 9.6..9.7.. or 10.1 minor update, and not be counted as ^huge^ v10.0 feature...) i still don't understand why, when someone buys wavelab elements or pro, we can't have the spectrum/spectrogram/bargraph tools available inside cubase, as 3 vst cubase/nuendo-only plugins, because the 600$/€ cubase pro comes WITHOUT a spectrum analyser...
THIS, i CAN'T accept.
I think the browser is a lot better!
And I love that you can drag a picture of your third party softsynths straight into the project window, boom!
That's pretty nice, yes! Thanks for your comment!
Thanks, Chris! Enjoyed your video!
Thanks for watching!
Have asked Steinberg 2 times to implement audio alignment. Now it comes, but the price tag of 100 bucks is a little high I think. But the Vari Audio 3 is a big update. But is the sound quality in VariAudio better than it was before?
I don't know about better but definitely not worst :-)
Hi thanks enjoyed the video I upgraded from 9.5 pro and like the new features in Cubase pro 10
Thanks Charles, enjoy C10!
Thanks Chris. Always great info.
You're welcome!
Nice video Chris!
As a new user of Cubase since June of this year (Cubase Pro 9.5) .I haven't had much time to explore my upgrade to Cubase Pro 10,due to work commitments (music making is a hobby of mine)
However really nice update performance is very good etc.But one thing thats been bugging me,is how the new customization of the look of Cubase goes
I mean you have four default colours, and then you design your own.
In Cubase 9.5 there was much more default colours. I can't seem to create my own custom colour that I like at the minute, lol
And you cannot use your own custom colours from Cubase 9.5 in Cubase 10 (there is a feature in Cubase support on this)
Overall, its a great update, hope to start working on it soon,no doubt there are bound to be teething problems, but I'm sure Steinberg will have that sorted out
Variaudio 3 looks really cool, snapshots for the mixer will be handy,as well audio alignment feature
I didn't have time to dig the color customization yet. I agree it's a great update!
FL Studio users got that Media Bay for years :D Just joking, this looks so good. I'll consider to upgrade from Cubase 8 to 10 (: Nice video thanks btw.
Thanks for watching bro!
How much is the update from 9.5 Pro.
just follow this link www.steinberg.net/en/shop/buy_product/product/cubase-pro-10.html
Thanks Chris! Its damn near perfect, if it proves stable. (it seems great so far) I just pray for the "Change track color by ctrl + scroll" option to come back. Haha
Absolut no reasons for that upgrade for me. Thx for the tube Chris - Steinberg should make an update with these features.
I'm still on Cubase 7 and am debating whether or not to upgrade to Cubase 10. If the update/upgrade still has bugs (as I read from some comments), I guess it would be safe to assume that those will be addressed and fixed by Steinberg?
Pretty sure those bugs will be fixed in the near future with some updates
Here's a link for Artist vs Pro new.steinberg.net/cubase/compare-editions/
Don't forget that all upgrades are 50% off until June 3rd ;-)
Have they added triplet editing to the Audio Warp pane? That's been the biggest pain to me using 9.5
+1 for this comment. Does anyone know if this is fixed? It's been a pain for over 6 years now - it's like no-one at Steinberg listens to us. How this has not been fixed for so long is beyond me!
Temped to upgrade not sure if I will or not tho. Keep the videos coming there great.
Very buggy, wait until the the first .n update.
I know, pretty cool!
very nice !! Love Vari Audio
Ty for the video! Like it as usual and coming from you! :)
A few days ago I upgraded to Pro 10 from Pro 9.5. But I haven't used it much yet and still have 9.5 installed…
So, haven't tried the new features much yet, but one thing I look forward to use is the new "vocal alignment", etc.
@@mixdownonline Ahh good to know! Thanks!

What drive or program file do you install third party plugins ? And where do you put the dll file ?
In the VSTPlugins folder...Mac or PC? Usually, when you install a plugin, it will be installed in that folder.

Snapshots are cool if you're not using Automation
I have a beta 58 and focusrite scarlett whats the best way to record Vocals its sounds wierd and low output I put a virtual pre to boost signal
Is it finally possible to move channels/tracks in the mixing window? That would be worth to upgrade more than a channelstrip of plugins I don’t use.
Unfortunately no :-(
Hey Chris I'm only into recording, editing mixing and mastering.

Cheers man
I didn't import all my preferences and shortcuts yet cause I'm still working with 9.5 for ongoing projects.

Update: I have purchased the upgrade from 9.5 to 10, I assume that I need to download the full Cubase Pro installer (21.13 GB) and there is not a smaller update file, correct? Many Thanks, Max T.
