his players and son was posting merch at halftime, this loss was well deserved
“Not built for the moment “ right now. Spot on! Another way of saying his team is still maturing.
They just dont have the talent yet. Give him a few years
I was specifically looking this comment.. still a great team. Still coming from a season of 1-11, and still have a lot of chemistry building with the fact you bing in 80+ players to a bigger conference new coaches new environment WAY MORE attention. “NOT BUILD FOR THE MOMENT” is all of that in sum.
@tr3xmadison863 Comparing last years team to this years team is absurd. 80 something new players on the roster. This is the team he brought in, and a handful won't be around next year. Saduer and Travis are almost certainly gone. Next years progress against this year's will be a better comparison
That game was rigged
@@spence_903 That's one way to cope with it. Haha
I will say this for Deion, he gives the most honest interviews of any college or pro coach I've ever heard. Most coaches are so full of it and just give the "company line" never wanting to tell it like it truly is. Deion doesn't have that in him. He's 100% all the time and it's so refreshing.
Try watching Detroit Lions HC Dan Campbell in his press conferences and interviews. He's 100% authentic and honest in his assessments regarding his team and their situation. His players love playing for him, and it is showing with the production on the field.
Truth. We need more like him.

@@MrFALLENHER0 That's such an insult that I'm sure Deion would slap the taste out of your mouth.
I love Prime's passion for the game and everything that goes with it. If he was my Coach, I'd run through a wall for him. His team need to connect to his passion and start knocking down every wall that they come up against.
Passion can only get you so far. You actually have to be good and Colorado just isn’t.

Same, I turned it off. Waking up to see how much they won by and shocked to see that they lost. What happened😳?

I gotta say his after game interviews regardless of wins or loses is some of the best I’ve ever seen.
This is Mississippi State level of coping
Seriously. I always watch his interviews because I learn something.

His honest humility is inspiring. Keeps me rooting for him.
i agree
I wasn’t a giant fan or critic of Deon when he was playing, but I gotta say, I could watch every minute of his post game comments as a coach! I feel he’s respectful, honest, thoughtful, concise and transparent…especially after a loss when all that becomes even more difficult to deliver on…👊👊
Ikr!? I've never seen anything like this before. Especially after a loss.
Lack of depth, lack of talent and injuries! You cannot control lack of speed and size

I'm not rooting for the Buffaloes, but this tremendous athlete and coach gave the most on-point.

This is a hard one. In my opinion this will determine who truly believes or just pretending. This game should humble the entire team ( Top to bottom)..A 29 point choke, players and coaches going at it, and failure to make personnel adjustments. A bye week contrary to Coach Prime opinion, is needed. Living with this for a week will determine who's in or out going forward. Coach Prime was truly hurt by this lost. If this hurt doesn't motivate and generate the same love Coach Prime has for football from his players, CU has a major issue going forward.
But I thought that after they beat TCU, they were going to go 15-0.😅
Like you said tonight is valuable exposure of weaknesses in players, personnel, and system for Coach Prime. The amount of penalties they accrue game after game is a glaring flaw in discipline and coaching.
At the end of the day it is year 1. Coach is working with what he has but I think there will be much more improvements coming in the off season.
It’s more or less a cultural thing. People need to stop talking about how they only won a single game last year and start being real with the team that it is now. They are right where they should be, if not a little behind by what scouts think of the players on Colorado. I can’t say this cause it’s 2023 but Colorado is full of thugs and morons. A lot of them are soft and flat out losers. Shadeur sanders is currently the most overrated player in football and only idiots and young kids support him. Real fans of any sport look at him and laugh.
@@danielrobinson9493why?
Did you really think a team that’s rebuilding was going to do that … slap yourself.
I respect coach Sanders for always applauding and giving credit to the opponent after a loss. That's what competing is about, it's not always about hating the opposition. Way to be professional 💯👍🏽
Wtf are u talking about? What else would he say? 99% of coaches give credit to other team.
This is all you came to say? You “respect” a coach for doing what all other coaches do? They all shake hands. Ppl like you worry me…something amazing happens (29 point come back), and all you point out is that you respect one real for letting the other team get a free parking spot
He should have stood behind his boys and not rip them apart on tv. They are a young team and this was a learning experience for them.
@@Thedirtylittlesecret so CP shouldn’t have answered questions about anything everyone spent 2 quarters watching collapse? No one improves performance when people circumvent, avoid, or sugar-coat the truth. All that does is make people unsure and lack confidence in their ability. I bet not a single player is hurt by what CP said in his post game conference but what they are hurt or even angry about is losing the game the way they did.
Literally every coach does that lmao.
Love Deion. Love him. "Are you in love with the game or in like with the game. Brilliant. He'll accomplish great things with them, just give it time.
Nothing brilliant about him
You should look up prime prep academy, a fake hs he used to steal money from poor people
He started this school and was later fired from it
He is a scam artist, Colorado was just desperate and hired a moron by accident
He is arguably the worst coach I've ever seen at this level
There's a lack of speed on the defensive line and linebackers. No one can shed their blocker until it's too late. And Travis played too many snaps after a month off, that's why they attacked him.
Not just that, their corners are stuck in molasses and their o-line is a wall of paper. And Sanders made every wrong decision the second he felt pressure. You can come in with all the bluster and promotion and sunglasses and ya-ya-ya. As a random person on the internet, it was fairly obvious from the beginning their defense was severely lacking. Sanders has the ability to promote like no other coach in college. He can build an amazing program in CO with his ability to market his players, so I really hope Coach Prime is able to look at the program objectively, rethink his QB lineup, and put a much stronger emphasis on recruiting defense. I'm rooting for him and hope he's able to create a legacy in CO. But he's got a much longer way to go than I think he initially realized.
So true. Travis may as well had sit on the side-line through the entire game...Poor little Coach Prime ☹️
Dude coming back from major surgery, and they have him playing both way... And they have him covering the #1 wr..
Excellent take.
@@hugus800...This team has too much attention(I'm beginning to see this👀),which puts much pressure on the players in the spot light because of Coach Prime.
Dear Mr. Sanders. I am in awe and have so much respect for what you are trying to do for Colorado and it's players. Huge Respect for Deion Sanders, lately you see sports stars shunning interviews or deflecting questions, this is going to be huge for that team he wants all of them to be Prime Time!!
He didnt invent that
Deion is a hall of famer and a multimillionaire. Win or lose, his life won't change much. His job is secure no matter how many games the Buffalos win. His team is about average. He knows that.
Maybe it's just me but Deion is great in these post game media sessions. He's respectful, honest, answers well, and takes accountability. What more could you ask for from a HC. NFL HC's and players could learn a lot from him.
Come on he's a professional, that's what a professional is supposed to do!!! STOP IT!!! We all know to win a national championship out of the Pac-12, CU needs better personnel on both sides of the ball, especially on the defensive side of the ball!!☹️
its not only him who needs to be taking the accountability though their OC and DC are the ones calling the plays
You could ask for your team to be better coached and disciplined on the field. Not a good coaching performance at all. No one else would be getting praise for losing games in the manners they have
I agree.
Part of being a head coach is taking accountability for everything that goes on with your team. He would lose the entire locker room if he points fingers at others for their mistakes and not acknowledge that he is the one allowing those mistakes to take place repeatedly.
No way I turned it off at half and just saw the news. Unbelievable game in prime time. Love Deion Sanders he is a stand up guy hold your head high.
I did the same thing at halftime. 🤦🏾♂️
Went to sleep at half good knowing they were up 29. Woke up, saw the final score and was almost late to work because I was so baffled lol😭
A nighttime game on Friday is not prime time. Lol
I turned it off too and now I'm watching this video. Holy moly!
Dude I went to sleep it was 29-0 wow
Throughout the entire game, Stanford was so poised, discipline and relaxed, and stuck to it's game plan, even when they were down by 29 Points. They never panicked, and it paid off for them.
This is the brutal loss that this team unfortunately needed as a lesson. Never let up on your opponent and keep your foot on the gas, coaches included. This happened because of their immaturity as a team. It’s growing pains. It also exposed fatal flaws at every level and position on both side of the ball be it bad habits, lack of tackling, bad decision making, including coaching. I love Coach Prime and I know he is giving his whole heart into this huge task but this has to be a defining moment for the team to not only talk about character but actually walk the walk because when it’s the trying time is even when it’s truly revealed.
😊
That loss showed that they have a ways to go before there’re ready to be a serious contender. Plus, with all the extra stuff they do as far as social media showing all the swag you have to be able to back it up. That’s what made the Miami teams of old so great. Besides the fact they had great players but they could and would back up the talk. They need to make it a point of emphasis to go after linemen on BOTH sides of the ball.
Growing pains definitely because Shedeur shouldn’t been even put in the position to bale us out at the end of every game. That loss wasn’t Shedeurs because without his late heroics we’re not 4-3 period
@@christhomas9188 I believe only 1 offensive lineman from this year will be starting next year the rest will be on practice squad. Prior to last weeks game I was adamant that The defensive line none of starters will be on the team in any capacity next year. After Last weeks game and this weeks game. I'm at 1 maybe 2 making the roster but I don't believe starting. Just like last years team vs. this years team. There will be a huge roster overhaul. Difference being they have a full year of recruiting to go after the big boys who will have impacts on both side of the line in later part of 2024 season, and for sure in the 2025 season. Then we have the Portal in December. Last year CU got a bunch of people both most of those people weren't starters once you exclude the JSU people. This year there will be some Starters on both sides of the ball coming, and some of those will be big boys in the trenches for immediate impact next year.
@@Neog2 I agree. I can see only 1 lineman starting next year. It wouldn’t surprise me if that 1 is not starting but in rotation maybe. The whole “my luggage is Louis V” thing was for skilled players obviously. They had to really run with what they had on the lines. But a whole year of recruiting would bring in some of the top dog big boys. Than they’ll be able to really run with the big boys of the new conference. Still will be a few year away from the UGAs, Michigans etc of the world
His honesty and intensity will have positive ripple effects beyond football. Who knows how his story will play out, that's part of what makes this fascinating. You can just kind of sense this is a good thing for a lot of people.

Give Stanford credit, when both teams were tired, to me, Stanford just played harder, and played better through the fatigue!!! Coach Prime is a real one the way he handled these interviews, class and honesty!!
He said it best “not built for the moment”.
Colorado didnt look tired at all, the defense was just garbage. How doesnt the LB help on the slant? The guy ran that slant 8x in a row at 1 point.
As a player, I couldn't imagine letting Coach Prime down like that. Wow. Just wow.
Well If a player is jealous of what your coach has done and his children are doing you just might purposely let him down … let that sink in
It’s not about one player it’s a overall team flaw. They didn’t keep the same intensity, don’t make it what it’s not.
Let's calm down on the "Letting Coach Prime down". They let themselves down and it also is on the coaches. Deion said he saw the complacency while being up - he both was unable to change the tide and something allowed this feeling to become part of the team's fabric.
That sounds ridiculous. Now his players are jealous of him? Do you think coach Prime is perfect and everyone is out to get him? Stop!!
There’s also a reason why all of these kids transferred in the first place. Unable to take criticism, unable to perform when it matters, or not having the physical traits needed to make the big plays that you need sometimes.
Honest answers from coach Prime. Best interview ever by a losing team. Greatness in that room.

The defense needs a new defensive coordinator. Kelly is incompetent. He was completely outclassed last night.
@@steveludwig4200I hope you're right. Alabama fired him after one season last year. I hope CU doesn't wait that long. Kelly is incompetent.
@@steveludwig4200 I'm thinking this. There is no way you let your defense keep getting beat with a simple slant route by the same receiver. Either double him or bring a linebacker closer to cut off that slant.

Moments like this can’t be coached. It has to happen in real time for it to sink in. To get kicked in the gut or have a game snatched from you like this is the best teacher. The coaches and the players share this loss and have to build from it. Have to rise from it…..and I believe they will because it happened just before the bye week. His speech at the end applies to jobs as well. When you have a team, you want people to love and have passion for what they do or have work ethics to do their best. Complacent team members hurt teams period.
But it all comes from the top down, if you don’t have front line Supervisors or Upper Management fostering that specific atmosphere and being in the mix, by being “involved in their work center” why should people be motivated. @@Brandon-tk2rw CB definitely got cooked!
I’ve never been a Deion fan but I think he stood up and handled this better than a lot of other coaches would have. Treated the reporters politely. Made no excuses. Big credit to Stanford for never giving up.
Lol..What did u expect
To blow a 29 pt lead. Dion knows that solely falls on coaching.
He doesn't know what to do. He's not a coach. He's a politician.
Every High School Football 🏈 Coach in Our country that won or lost should present this news conference for his young men to watch in its entirety 🏈🙂
This is a pointless interview, nothing worth remembering was said
That WR Ayomanor just lit Travis Hunter and the Buffs secondary up the 2nd half. I haven't seen a college WR performance like that since Calvin Johnson.....294yds, 3 TDs.
“If you’re going to point the finger, don’t point it at him (defensive coordinator), point it at me!” True leadership in the midst of defeat! Colorado should’ve won, but they’ll bounce back from this.
He then went on to say they need to get better and have love 😂😂😂😂 you totally missed the slander and only caught what you wanted to hear classic media ears 👂 lmfao
He threw his corners under the bus.
@@dublewis547 didn’t miss anything. He took accountability as a leader while not accepting complacency. Which is true leadership. You imposed your presupposition on my point and his quote and missed THE overall point of covering his DC while not accepting their performance.
@@paulhbhe didn't have to. We all saw it
They can’t bounce back dude
Look at whom they have left to play
UCLA
OREGON STATE
WASHINGTON STATE
UTAH
ARIZONA
THEY WILL UNDOUBTEDLY LOSE AT LEAST 3 of those 5….. possibly 4
Will not beat
Washington State
UCLA
Oregon State
Therefore
Good turnaround season
But they will finish
5-7
Possibly 6-6
Not sure how that’s characterized by bounce back
I was at the game, left stunned. Seen it once before years ago vs. Oregon State. Momentum in college football is incredible. IMO the game shifted after Mata missed the FG. Don’t like going for it twice on 4th down, the play calls were terrible. In double OT, 2nd and a foot, run a QB sneak. The referees were blind in the end. It’s unfortunate now the Buffs need to pull off a couple of upsets, with our defense not sure it’s possible. Been a buffs fan my entire life and I’m still so excited about the future. PS fire the scoreboard operator.
So you want to throw out the refs and scoreboard operator after giving up a 29 point lead? Right...
Endurance training needed. For the players (and for the fans)
Shout out to the media reporters that prime put on blast in front of everyone after he wins.
You can tell the true character of a man in defeat. Coach you are a Class Act. Some of the greatest lessons learned are in defeat. We got this
like when he throws his kids under the bus "I dont think they want it." there is nothing classy about that.
He didn't learn anything his players arnt just built for the moment
He gets defeated a lot. He has a lot of practice. Let's be honest.
He's gonna get even better taking the L, cuz he'll get lotsa practice.
Coach Prime is a class act. He owned it 100%
Not yet because after every loss, they’ve gotten worse.
As a Colorado fan I'm just happy we're trending and Prime gives great interviews. All that other stuff in between is just noise.
I don’t even watch football but I love these press conferences with him
Gotta give Coach Prime the credit for coming out and being honest. I wasn't really familiar with his career (other than the obvious) but he's bringing a lot to the table. Colorado is lucky to have him.
Tough loss coach. We’re still behind you supporting all the way so impressed with the way. Stanford came out though that number 13 is an absolute dog…shadeur balled out as usual.
No we aint....the whole coaching staff is hot garbage
🤡🤡🤡🤡
What game were you watching??
@@skiparkcityuthe had 400 and 5 tds a couple of mistakes doesn’t erase all the good. Yea he had the pick to end it and the overthrow but this gotta be on the coaches and defense first then the offense
“All that glitters is not gold.” - Gatlin Brothers, circa 1978
Sad times for all these Colorado fans.
I'm not a Colorado fan but i can listen to Sanders talk about football all day. They'll make a bowl game this year. Next year fighting for the championship
Travis was doing his thing on offense but on Defnse bro got friieeedddd
Travis Hunter got cooked on defense tonight
He is not in good condition and it showed
Thats right on all major plays, His defense was very weak, he looked smaller too. he might need to bulk up !!!
@@thegoodshophe 6’1 165 that’s small gotta get up to 185
Tough loss. I will say I have never watched so many post-game interviews in my life. This man is special.
Great speaker, awful head coach 😂
@@Lakeshow0024okay
Ya he’s so baddddd. 😮😮😮😮 jk he’s cool. Poggers!
@@Lakeshow0024Truuuuueeee.
True
Love this line “some players are not built for the moment” should be a wake up call to all coaches!
most of those high dollar transfers are there for the moment in the spotlight. they aren't getting that spotlight that some think they should, and aren't giving 100%. i see some leaving the program in the offseason.
Most embarrassing loss of Deion life gotta hurt more knowing your son was the starting qb of that loss
Let’s call a spade a spade, they tried to inflate #2 stats instead of just pounding the ball. #22 is an absolute stud and they don’t utilize him enough. What a joke of a coaching staff
Kudos to Coach for not making any excuses. In my amateur judgement what has to be remembered is this team while talented has not played together very long so while Deion and his staff deserve a ton of credit for how they threw this thing together there's always going to be warts that surface when a team gets tested
OH....so no more "three Heisman winners in one year from Colorado" talk ?
@@petep5207 Sir I'm not a Deion/Colorado fan . I prefer more humble leaders . As for the Heisman there's been so many guys who won that who could never ball on Sundays
The mismanagement of Travis Hunter is SOLELY the reason cu got humiliated. I put this 100% on coach prime. I'ma flat out say it: Travis Hunter ain't that good on defense. He should strictly be a receiver.
That moment when he talked about loving it, is the kind of moment they script in dramatic sports movies. All that was needed was background music.
This is what accountability looks like. I love his post game interviews win or lose.
This loss does not only fall on the players. Something is not meshing well with the coaches.. It doesn't seem as if all the coaches are unified.
But Deion is the "best" coach of all time.😂
I think its practice, they need more depth, you can't only have a few players and other standing looking lost. I hate this loss, this is the worst. Coach need to cut some players and get some hungry grinders. Coach gives his all, and this is worst ever !!!
@@danielrobinson9493nobody ever said that😂
@@danielrobinson9493 he is talking about Offensive Coordinator and Defense Coordinator
@@LeafyNebula another Deion fan. Nothing is Deion's fault!
Most respect to coach Prime.. That is a man standing up there answering questions honestly and showing why he will succeed in the coming years..
feel like every coach answers questions after a loss
Coach Prime, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
😂😂😂😂 every coach does thisn
I mean that is his job, and at best a minimum standard.
So he does what every other coach do? Amazing!
Respect to coach for taking a bad loss with honor
The truth is that football is the epitome of a “team sport” and as such, it doesn’t really matter how good your offense is, if you’re defense sucks.
It's not how you start it's how you finish.
It’s how you start and finish.. he basically been saying so years they need to start fast and yesterday they started fast and finished how they been starting all year😤
Deion is such a class act!!! You do your people very well. Much Love.
the press acted like we will try not to upset him!! lol
I like how he sat and took it. Vs Sean peyton or belicheck getting mad at everyone because they stunk
Be honest Prime, Travis Hunter did not play well on Defense
Yes
Lost a 29 point lead to a team that’s picking up a second win, wow😳 what happened? At this point all of the teams believe they can beat you. They figure you out quickly. Someone has to be smarter when you see that they’ve switched up and are quickly catching up. Someone can’t outthink the changes that the other coaches have made it seems.
What's your point?
I agree. But give them a break we know the s line is weak.. we will be better off next yr.. its a nice story but im not putting to much confidence in the team just yet. They have awesome players. But every needs to play as ONE!!!.again its the first yr. And he did what he could. But i still believe and we coming. Few yrs we will be at the TOP. Go CB!!!!
@@asanteLhis comment contained his point. Do you struggle with reading comprehension?
Other teams are recognizing that CU is a hype mess and they can beat them by playing organized football. All the celebrity egos on CU are having a detrimental impact to their performance.
@@user-sm9mb6ms5j
Do your mother?
Do you think Shedeur will get his watch sponsorship now? He played awesome against Stanford. Beating them 29-0 in the first half. Great game for the Buffs. 😉
I love watching Deion interviews stand up guy keep pushing coach...
If you watch the play where Shadeur threw the interception, Colorados TE and WR crash into each other on a crossing route at the goal line.... That ball was meant for the TE crossing right and he had no one to throw it too because of that error. The QB was left to scramble and try to make things work smh. That's what Deion was talking about......
Just throw it out
He could’ve thrown it away😂😂
That comes down to coaching
@@stevesalisbury3657it’s not the coaches jobto execute. That is 100% on the players.
Brady mode⌚️⌚️⌚️⌚️
Coach Prime is so humble and straight forward and brutally honest. The team will shape up when he is done...Keep grinding it will all work it self out. Love or Like it is a good question to ask ones self.
one thing i realize abt deion is whenever something embarrassing or crazy happens with his team he always brings up how he never had that happen to him when he played 😂 even tho he right i still think it’s funny he gotta remind everyone who he is
Speed, speed and more speed is needed.
