One of the truest interpretations a Bonham's drumming I have heard
Thank you
Here here🙂
Yes, indeed.
Yes sir. Drumming gave me tinnitus, tendonitis, carpal tunnel and ulnar nerve surgeries on both hands and elbows. I’m 64 now and have arthritis in every joint. Fair statement that drumming is a full contact sport. Be careful friends and stay healthy. And great job George.
Same, add to that almost 15,000 hours of jet helicopter in flight noise, 11 motorcycles and 3 decades of drums. I sleep with hand braces on. 67 years old. But I’d do it again….
Cheers, 🙏🏻
Hold the stick between the thumb & middle finger not the index finger. Dave Weckl said his career was saved cause he switched to this. More natural bounce with this grip. I got rid of tension in the hand when I switched. I still use the old way for a couple of things but not much.
@@Bill-vy3fx thanks, I'll try this
Freezing in admiration. There are no words.
The beat that makes the music complete. Incredible.
This is a professional and, most importantly, free lesson for all those who are interested in Rhythm areas.
Let's donate for this wonderful work.
Thank you, George
I've always said that Bonham's sound and touch are the most evasive to recreate. I've never heard anyone come close. I can honestly say this isn't close. This is right on top of. More than anything I'm in awe.
Right. People commonly talk about his power but it really about dynamics, endurance and pulling sounds out of the drum kit.
THE BEST interpretation of Bonham on the planet. Hands down. Full stop. I really enjoyed this - thank you!
Sorry guys, my english is bad, I think in portuguese, and I wrote in portuguese. I have Tourette syndrome, and I want to make a video playing drums, but wen I play in front of the camera is so dificult! Im working on this, ans I hope to show my talent for you! By the way, great job George, I love your amazing job! God bless you!
Thanks
One of the few drummers I can stand to listen do an extended solo, straight up fire George! 🔥
Thanks!
Love those drums George, they sound superb. (with you playing).
Been watching george since terry introduced him.He is the epitome of great drumming.
I’ve never heard a closer approximation of Bonzo’s sound. Amazing!
George, I use Bose Q35 II headphones while playing drums. It has noise cancellation & I know it doesn’t help because it just releases other noise to drown out what’s actually going on outside the headphones, but even when the noise cancelation is off it is not too loud. I want your opinion on if those are good for long term. I play a couple times a week. I have gun range over ears but it kind of hurts my head. What is your opinion on that? Do you think the Bose Q35 II is sufficient to avoid hearing damage?
I'm not sure. Wish I had more knowledge on that
I hope you and Terry stay healthy. You guys do more for people than you know. Trust me. 🙏
Thank you!
George, I had no idea you were struggling with tinnitus and tendonitis. This video is great and helpful for us drummers. You are resilient, thank you for being vulnerable and giving us tips on how to improve drummers' health. Power and love to you!
Thanks, Adrian! 🙏🏼
@@BONHAMOLOGYhey George I'm curious are your bottom heads tighter or lower than the top? Or do you mix n match? Currently I've found I have 1 of 3 toms where the bottom head is lower. It just seems to work
@@NintenDub Yes, the bottom heads are tighter than the batter side.
I've found that stretching before practice and gigs really helps.
Yes, most definitely, I often forget to do it but that's essential
That snare sounds Bonzolicious! 👊😎🤘
Maybe I'm late on the observation, but I saw/heard Terry finally mic'd up his drums, George.
They don't sound like doo doo no more in his videos. Help him tune that snare, though 😆
In 1981 I auditioned for a band & they asked me who's the greatest rock drummer & I said John Bonham.
A girlfriend of the leader of the band said
"No, Neil Peart is the greatest rock drummer!".
I didn't get the job! THANK GOD! ✌️😁👍
In 40 yrs I've never heard a such a Bonham-esque sound from another dude.
Very impressive
🙏🏼
You are awesome!!! That’s my kind of working a groove!!!!
Starting out with the live outro of Dazed and Confused from TSRTS - that section of that version doesn't get talk about enough --- it's totally killer -- on the drums, bass and the guitar soloing is out of this world. Unique for sure... sorry about tinnitus, George.😊
not even half way through and I'm like that's awesome!!!!
My first comment was half way through. I just finished watching to the end. AMAZING! I was imagining what Robert Plant would be thinking if he saw this.
Thanks!
Beautiful playing my friend
Enough study material there to keep me busy for YEARS! Fantastic, thank you George!
To flow without damage You are injury free .. People need you
sons of thunder
Awesome!
I always used protection during rehearsals. It's all the concerts I've been to where I would stand by the PA without earplugs that gave me constant ringing.
Браво! Спасибо!
This is so awesome!! I needed to hear this today
You are killing it man that's amazing
Nice warm up!! Feel better
Great job G! 👏👏🥁
Nice Work!
Cool idea, thanks, I will practice that. Like your drumming man!
What a treat that vwas!! Thank You!!
Too good.
Thanks for this, I’m gonna try this tomorrow
Great exercise George
beautiful perpetual motion. Thank you, George.
THANK YOU SMOKIN!
Monumental.
Amazing to watch a exciting drum solo. Great job.
That kit sounds so good....
Amazing Drum chops!!!!
Awesome!!!
Now that you're warmed up
Lets see whatcha got!!
Amazing technique and the micing of your drums is fabulous!
That low end is killer
This was inspiring! That kit sounds so good, and the way you developed the ideas was awesome
Thanks !
that's quite a workout ! sounds fantastic !
Thanks George, great drumming and very inspiring!
Can't wait to try this. You opened my eyes . never thought of the health of a drummer in depth. Thank you
George - amazing. You need to do another video on your snare tuning. Pls!
You make it look effortless ❤❤ cheers from uxbridge
Great playing and kit sounds absolutely incredible
Thank you.very inspiring❤
Very nice playing Sir and great sounding kit.
Very nice Ludwig drum sounds, including the excellent snare sound.
Nice work 🎶🥁🎶
Awesome 🥁🥁🥁
Bobby Rondinelli !!! Awesome drummer !! When are you going to make us a video of "stone cold"? Were there "snare drags" in the beginning of that song?
This is the greatest thing I've ever heard in my life.
That sounds incredible. Your kit sounds just like Bonham's and you have amazing skill. Great video!
Really dig the single pedal work
Good timing for this as I recently had surgery on my right collar bone (an old injury reared its ugly head). I just started today with my practice pad and hope to be back behind the kit soon getting back in to gig shape.
That was superb!! I'm not a drummer, but I love the sound of John Bonham and you nailed it.
Nice FYI for ear health.
The drums sound perfect to me. I’m always super picky about getting my rack tom right where I want it. Between the room, mics, tuning, and your technique and feel - you nailed it!🤘
Sto seguendo i tuoi video e devo farti i complimenti.
All I can say is absolutely amazing.I've been a bonzo fan for forty years And there ain't no one that can touch you. Absolutely amazing thank you so much.
George Flufas, you are a giant And by far my favorite drummer... online, or offline. Thank you for your generous advice, and lessons, and tutorials.
Super inspiring! Amazing stamina/ability to relax, the mental focus required. Also very educational ( watching at 50% speed! ) thanks for doing this!
Thank you!
Fantastic, everyone should just start Drumming, great exersice sounds fantastic.Drumming for peace.
Bonzercise!
I love that!!! 😂
Fair play this isn’t talked about enough 👍
George I’m so glad you mention those semi yet very irritating health problems because every time Iv shown or sent one of you videos to someone over the years I always mention when John Bonham was playing this solo or live show he was in his early to mid twenties George is not I’v always taken that into consideration over the last 10 years of all your videos. This is the best drumming exhibition Iv ever seen.
Thanks George! 🙏🏼
think it’s time to say george fludas is my favourite drummer !
Best drumming Iever heard!!!
And saw🧏
Brother sorry for the health issues but my friend i need to say that you entire video is packed full of amazing drum shops in Dynamics and groove and if you are obviously trying to you know kind of give it a Bonzo spin brother you have nailed it and I mean nailed it well and the tone and tuning of your kit is great.
Hi George, amazing drumming as usual.im 65 now and not into gym stuff, either.i find yoga great for my drumming and health, cheers 🇮🇪
Yes! Love that hi hat sound - this whole sound is at the next level!
Your technique is more accurate than Bonzo's. Great job !
Thank you for posting this. I have had numerous cervical and lumbar surgeries in the past 1.5 years and still have neuropathy in both arms and legs. I want to get back to playing, and this workout is now one I plan to use! Great post!!
The “Crossover” 👏🏻 Like always George you sound great 👍🏻
Doesn't get better than that. A masterclass in sound, technique and musicality. Job extremely well done.
Thank you
As usual ALLLLLLL of us fellow drummers appreciate your talents and AND LESSONS that you share with us!!! ALLLL for FREE!!! SORRY ABOUT YOUR health YOU ARE A LEGEND AND INSPIRATION TO YOUR FANS!!! THANKS 😊BROTHER 🥁 DRUMMER!!!
Man, 30 minutes with that left foot counting, thats tuff! I get the wrist on left hand and the left finger lately, but nit even sure if its drumming related, but the rims shot might agitate it! Happy healthy playing George!
What a groove. You're a legend. Cheers from France
amazing!!! Would LOVE it if you did a "how-to" video on these grooves😁🤘
I've done some tutorails on this groove, check my playlist for demos tutorials.
Haha left us hanging at the very end there! 😂
Great sound and technique, but it was the stick flips that did it for me". Thank you
Ha, I regretted holding the sticks backwards so I flipped them!
@@BONHAMOLOGY "Par Excellence" George. Thanks for the treat".
Most impressive! I admire your talent and the amount of work and passion you must have put in to be at that level! Do you ever struggle with wondering if you're bothering the neighbours in the house next door? I don't have adequate sound proofing. I'm down the basement but I alwys feel like I might be bothering someone. I never play too late or too early though. Thanks!
Actually I'm renting a practice space and it's kind of an old industrial building
@@BONHAMOLOGY Thanks so much for your reply!
Resistance bands helped me loosen up my issue with tendonitis. I know this is a just TH-cam comment, but I highly recommend getting the ones with handles and putting it around a doorknob and figuring out all the basic exercises it can simulate. Bench press, arm curls etc. can be a great stretch. PT often will utilize them. Swimming as well. Heard you throw in that Roy Haynes stuff on the rim. slick!
Thank you! Yeah, I'm going to look into the resistance band.
George is on it, in it and with it. Jhb is smiling somewhere🥁😎
I hear you George (no pun intended)! I’ve lost most of my hearing in my right ear because I always set my amp up to my drummer’s left like Pagey. I’d be down on my knee twiddling with my pedals at soundcheck and *crack* he’s whaling on that snare! F**ked me up for life. Glad you’re addressing the issue.
Buy an E-bike, you'll have ALOT of fun while getting exercise. You can also use it for light errands and potentially save some gas money ;-) - Thank you for sharing!
Damn those drums sound good.
Quite the workout you did there, George Fludas! Do keep it up also with treating your tendonitis and tinnitus. 🙂
👍🏻🙏🏻
Rocky is now giving drum lessons :)
Brilliant- such a brilliant demonstration of fabulous Bonham / Terry work out.
You seem so relaxed as you do it. The build up and fluency is fantastic.
Agree absolutely with your health comments.
Sorry to hear you have tinnitus and some tendinitis.
I too have tinnitus from playing without protection when younger and also through working in steel and paper mills. Also have some arthritis in the base of my left thumb meaning I have to change grips during a gig.
Walking and weight absolutely. I’m retired from my day job and walk our border collies up the of back lanes some of which are steep ! - it’s very hilly here. It’s not just playing - it’s carrying the gear and setting up too !
Thanks again George - a brilliant video !!! 🥁👍🏼🥁
Thanks so much Iori
Good work man! Cool drums
Stay healthy my friend god bless fantastic playing
Fantastic.
