Nothing beatss the smoothness and durability of a V8 in a truck.
yeah an i-6
Inline 6s also have perfect primary and secondary balance.
Any Chevy engine is WAY better than pos ram sooo

Good luck to Stellantis. Vehicles are already piling up on dealer lots. Lets see how many people are lining up to finance a $100,000 truck at 10% interest. LOL
yeah and they haven't been known for quality either, but a lot of stuff today is more about quantity than quality.
You have to make 160K to clear the 100K to pay for the truck...if not more with 10% financing.
@@beachlife3772 I guess a lot of people are making a lot more than what is shown as the median income for the US
Longer line up to steal them than there is to buy them
ain't that the truth.
I’ve owned 5 V8 Ram’s including my 2017 Ram, not to mention my Dodge Charger. I’m a Mopar guy and always have been. However, there is no way, and I mean zero chance that I ever get a weak sounding truck without a V8. I’ll be looking at other manufacturers for the first time. I realize they don’t care about my opinion and with that in mind I’ll be happy shopping elsewhere. Congrats, Ram!
You will reconsider when the new straight six leaves you in the dust .
The new GMC 2500 looks really good from the front. I've never bought a GMC vehicle only RAMS but I might have to test drive a GMC 2500.
Dressed for the V8 funeral....

979lbs payload? Pathetic. That’s 4 men and a lunchbox and the payload is maxed out. Repeat: Pathetic.
Or one golfing buddy and their two golf bags, this is certainly redefining the word "truck". And in Canada if this is in fact well over the 100 grand price, the new luxury tax will kick in.
That’s worse then GMC/chevy on there off-road models
There’s no way that can be right 😂
@@larryman2707 what’s the point with that truck? I mean have a 2500HD duramax and don’t haul anything but just to have the option with a huge payload if I want. The ram having absolutely piss poor payload shouldn’t even be aloud to be made!
@@larryman2707 Given what Ram has already created in the last number of years I expect is is correct. One of Rams ideas was to create the 2500 with coil springs and yes from what i am told it does ride good ( a nephew has one and bought it for that reason of ride knowing it would have a lower weight carry ability ) , and the Ram power wagon which the name sounds all impressive but it too is a special build geared around more suspension travel and more compliant. I've not ridden in one but again a friend has one and apparently its ride is quite impressive, however its weight carry number is very low for a pickup and certainly a 3/4 ton pickup. So this fancy dancy truck in this video, no surprise they geared it for ride over being able to haul a load as that is what a number of the high end pickups get bought for, their ride and not what they can haul.
My boy broke his suit out the closet! Lookin' sharp!

I am glad I got my 24 V8 hemi. Sounds great, runs great. Couldn’t be happier. Interesting power/torque numbers though!
Top 3 l will smoke a 5.7 Hemi
Ill stick with my ole v8 duramax with 900lbs torque. Tbe prices of these things is ridiculous.
They ALL publish high torque. BUT...hook up to a trailer at capacity and try pulling it up a long hill. Kids peddling bicycles will pass you.
Yeah, they should’ve concentrated on upgrading power and efficiency on the V8. That in-line six is going to rely heavily on forced induction. Gas mileage is going to be terrible under any kind of load and even around town. The stress is going to cause undo wear on items …..it’s just not good to under size an engine.
@larryman2707 This has worked good in the chevy 2.7 turbo. I've seen 190k miles with no issues pulling 7400lbs camper. I wont touch the dodge inline 6 turbo unless its been out for about 3 or 4 ywars to see how it goes.
No V8 both ford and GM are SUPER happy about that! Sorry RAM hopefully California can support all of your sales 😆
I hate to say it but I really don't see Ford or GM keeping V8's in their half-ton trucks for much longer. Get them while you can.

980 lbs of payload. Lord have mercy. It's like a truck, but not really a truck.
Yeah. Why is that so low
Given the average American family that leaves you with about 5lbs of additional payload lol
Basically the same payload as a Toyota Prius. 🤦🏻♂️
@@bprint555Yup, not a good image.
Ny wifes highlander has 1300lbs lol
They should keep the hemi as an option.
They need to cut emissions by half, that won't work if they kept the Hemi as an option.
How does Ford and chevy keep v8s
@@robertgrunenwald They invested the money to keep them emission compliant. The 5.7L Hemi is too old to keep going, but instead of updating it for the future, they decided to scrap it. Decision is more from their European ownership that doesn't realize how big a mistake this is likely going to be. Considering Stellantis biggest revenue comes from North America, they may have wished they made another decision.
All play and no work makes Ram a pricey boi
That payload is hilarious 😂

Next generation GM 1/2 ton is gonna gain a lot of marketshare with their Gen 5 small block v8
I don’t think things will change too much. Having a more diverse lineup can help improve market share but I think this Ram will sell just as well as before given all the other updates that will swoon people over what engine it ultimately has.
@ALMX5DP ram is struggling big time. The only reason their sales were high for a couple of years is because they were selling the old "classic" old body style with 15k rebates alongside the new redesign
@@ALMX5DP people still want V8s
@@NWI_Steel sales seems somewhat consistent over time so I think brand loyalty plays a big role in how it’ll play out as this model hits showrooms. People do like V8s but Ford has shown that their Ecoboost engines sell extremely well even when they have a fantastic Coyote on offer.

Running at such high RPM's is bound to wear parts out quicker - JMHO
If those twin turbo i6 engines last 100k miles without exploding or destroying their turbos, the engineers did a good job. Their goal is too sell you an 80 grand luxury truck that lasts 100k miles, junk it, and then you buy a new one.
Great video, only problem I have is no more V8. I understand the 2025 has way more horsepower and torque but I don’t need that much for what I do. 395 horsepower and 108 miles an hour is plenty for me.
Good job on the Video. No Hemi V8's or Supercharged option on the 1500, 2500. No more HEMI V8 on the HD's, I'm No longer interested in MOPAR.
I believe I read the hemi will still be included as an option on the 2500.
Stellantis hasn't been good with new engines should have kept old reliable as an option plus I know guys who bought the truck based on the Hemi alone
Exactly
Look at you in a suit!
I’m happy with my 2023 Ram Laramie. Has the sport appearance package and a few others. As drivers, primarily we need the right arm area to be convenient. Meaning, the knob to change gears vs the stick, the knob frees up so much center console space. You have so much freed up space in the center console, I love my Ram. I’m never getting rid of it. The ride is so smooth, didn’t buy a truck to race or fly down the highway. The inside is very nice. Love my truck
Awesome vid, looking sharp btw!!
900 lbs of payload 😂 “Sorry I can’t have a 4th passenger we are at the payload limit”.
Considering the buyer demographic for these trucks its 2 passengers max
one Mississippi wife will put you over the limit
Wow, you looked different. nice job dressing up. looking good.
Truck King in a suit...wth :-)
Awesome looks and new system has change in power loading good.
Ram will lose customers with no V8 option. Ford was smart in keeping the V8. Ford marketing did their homework when they introduced the EcoBoost. They figured out early that customers still like V8s and will shop else where for it.
Agreed and for me I'll take the 5.0L Coyote V8 over the EcoBoost V6 anyday just like I'll take the 5.7L Hemi V8 over the stupid Hurricane Inline Six anyday.

The 5.7 Hemi is time tested and proved. Powerful V8 engine, with the 8 speed TorqueFlite transmission (same used in the Rolls Royce), and the 3.92 rear end. All the kinks have all been worked out since 2009, over the last 15 years. The new trucks are going to have lots of problems for years. I’m glad I have 3 - 5.7 Hemi engine trucks in my arsenal. People are going to be pissed they switched before the kinks have all been worn out of the new.

Gonna go the same way as Jeep. Very unfortunate for Ram. Hope the V8 comes back soon and hopefully they bring back some truck styling.
it's dead Stellantis will not make the investment to make a V8 to pass emissions.
Too bad the V8 is gone. They should have kept it as an option. They will regret this decision. Ford made sure the V8 is still an option or they would lose customers.
@@Scrum67 I bet they won't lose too many. For all talk Ram fans had about the Ecoboost engines they will lap the hurricane up.

Awesome suit bro absolutely phenomenal
Looks like Stellantis “Chrysler group portion” is going to go back to being an also run. Jeep has lost its way and now no v8 in the Ram half ton, I don’t know why you would buy a Chrysler product these days.
Inline 6 with twin turbs is great but I'll be the mpgs isn't any better than the old V8. No doubt it has plenty of luxury but that's going to be too up market for me and it can't haul anything.
More expensive gas too, what a great combo.
Damn, diggin the suit!
I'm actually pretty excited about these power trains. I6 's are awesome. But I don't understand why the ol'HEMI couldn't have been a mid-grade option. Would have been a good price shopper option too.
Wait... i cant take my three golfing buds and our clubs without being overloaded ?
Exactly. 979lbs of payload gets used up pretty quick.
How the heck does payload go from 2300lbs down to 979? I can’t imagine this weighs that much more than even a base 2wd double cab truck but maybe I’m just ignorant to how many bits and features really add in terms of weight.
They use that number for the most basic 2 wheel drive truck that has no options.
So you have 4 people weighing 200 pounds you're overweight with 200lb in the truck bed.
It's just a truck to drive around and show off with not practical for 100k+.
@@rockyjay55 even still I have a hard time thinking there’s a 1300+ lb difference between those two extremes.
@@rockyjay55EXACTLY.

Looking fresh my dude!
Once you go HD, you never go back.
I did…but I kept the HD too 😅
Agree
…so less than 1K payload. On a half ton. Ouch.
Previous years of the 5th gen was just as bad. Disappointing. Compared my truck to my Ford and GM friend, I lost.
Had lots of Dodge/Ram pickups over the years, including a current generation Limited and a Laramie Limited, and the pricing information (as a fleet buyer) I am getting is a major jump, enough to give me pause, added with no hemi option, and certain Stellantis reluctance with warranty repairs, will mean current trucks will be run longer and not automatically replaced with a similar Ram. Might have re-ordered a couple current generation trucks with a hemi, if that had become a thing.
Believe the 2500 will still have the Hemi so you might need to take that route.
First of all congratulations on making an amazing video because you guys topped all of the bars here
Let's see how long they last. Glad I got my 2023 Limited when I did.
A lot of stress on the engine for the high output version -- ~174HP per liter. A truck in tow mode has to sustain engine load for a long time. 6:17
Agreed 100%
Why not just swap that engine with the 6.7 cummins?
You can still put the Hemi V8 in this build... I just ordered a LH and I had the option of V8, V8 with eTorque or HO I6.
Maybe their ordering application was wrong, it showed it as an option... you're probably more in the "know" than me :D. My bad
that is for now, next model year it goes away
looking sharp man!
I'm waiting for the Ram Paleo in which they bring back the body style from the 80's with a new leaning tower of power slant 6. Top trim "Stonehenge" has a King cab, base trim "Flint axe" has an animal print shag cover over a vinyl bench seat. Starting at a cool $30k. The only options are power mirrors.
And the Ram Rogan that has truck nutz, spreads conspiracy theories on the speakers nonstop, and drives itself to Austin only to realize Austin celebrated a drag queen running for mayor for two decades.
We won't know for a few years how these engines are.
Beautiful...Absolutely , Pricing...INSANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Didn't see the price
It’s funny that Dodge/Ram are at a Canadian auto show but won’t be in any in the US. WTF
Fantastic overview. What power output will we see in the Rebel?
Can't replace the sound or the tactiles of the V8 Hemi with an IL 6.
I love my 5.7 hemi but I'm excited about the new power from these motors. Ford barely sells V8s and mostly sells Ecoboosts for the F150 and they are the leaders in trucks so even though the V8 will be missed especially when it comes to sound but it won't keep me from buying another Ram especially when I put the pedal down and it moves very quickly and gets better fuel mileage to boot.
Yeah but Ford makes reliable engines. Stellantis never made reliable engines. Yes, the Pentistar and Hemi are decent, but they were not designed by Stellantis. They were designed by an older generation of Chrysler engineers. Alfa Romeo and Fiat engines are absolute junk. Get a Ford with the 3.5 Ecoboost or a Tundra with the 3.4 V6 twin turbo. They are known for making good engines.
@@applianceman6009 actually Ford engines aren't reliable and Ford has more recalls than any other brand. I used to be a Ford guy until I couldn't take having my truck in the dealer so much with issues. That's why I went to Ram and haven't had any issues with my 2 ram trucks that I have owned. I will never go back to Ford. If I switch from Ram I will buy a GMC or Toyota product. Sorry but I strongly disagree with Ford being a quality product. I have known more truck guys leaving Ford than any other brand because of there awful build quality.
@@michaelwaiwood5629 I would get a Tundra over this Ram. Japanese engineering on Twin Turbo engines is superior. This Hurricane will be less reliable.
Yet both the EcoBoost and the Hurricane won't outlast my good ol 1996 Ford F150 with a 5.0L (302) Windsor V8 nor my 2011 Ford F150 with a 5.0L Coyote V8 in it as well.

I know we will all miss the rumble of the Hemi, but it Ram had to downsize, thankfully they had the foresight to go straight 6. The fact that ram got rid of their V8, is a sign of being a WEAK company. GM seems to keep their V8’s… huh. And nobody cares about ram HD’s. Their gonna be $100K dollars, IF THAT.
