@@MynameisDarko-ln5tsnot sure how many hours I have into the bike to be honest. This one I’ve taken my time on. I started the restoration in September and I expect to wrap it up in February . In the past I would do one of these restos in 6-8 weeks, but buying projects and doing restos is getting crazy expensive now so I can’t afford to do more than 2 a year, so I take my time.
Really great work 👏🏼 I am seriously considering getting my ZXR750 H2 repainted. My skills don’t allow me to confidently do myself (plus, I don’t have access to a paint booth). The paint is in 8/10 condition, but it’s showing its age in places. I paint my own smaller panels and wheels. I have just finished painting the lower fairing panels and exhaust shrouds for my CBR1000F in the (finally found) correct paint code obtained from RS Paints here in the UK. So sadly I’ll have to go with the pro’s for the full body fairing and decals Great work though mate 😎👌🏼
Looking awesome. Curious if you have any handling tricks or tips during transport between the paint booth and your shop? Love the channel and stoked for the next video!
I wait 12 to 24 hours for the clear to dry sufficiently to handle it, then I wrap it all in fleece blankets and put it in my vehicle. Thanks for watching and commenting
I did just paint a panel i bought that was just a plain green ZXR side panel. I bought it on ebay & wanted to test my skills. Once I obtained the correct paint codes, it came out almost perfect.. but removing the masking tape had some colour bleed 🤯 So I had to touch it in by hand.. It was only a practice panel, not going on the bike 😁 Where are you obtaining the decals?
I get them from either RDDecals. Com here in Canada, or from Graham at the imageworks in the UK. Make sure you use fineline tape to mask when doing multiple colours. Once your fine line is down you can use a quality automotive paint tape for the rest . If u look at my tape in the paint booth the orange tape is fineline and the yellow is a quality automotive painter tape.
Loving the work, great video as always. As someone who appreciates older motorcycles you might enjoy this recent video from Superbike Surgery th-cam.com/video/IZkpmtC7qPI/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared

Another great video, your paint job is awesome, and best part is when you explain the masking part which for me is one of the key to success.

Very nice work as always. You're getting quite proficient with those guns, but as they say, "practice makes perfect". Continued success.
Thanks Brian
Love watching this channel, helps me get away from my channel and relax.
Thank you
@@true-moto-resto How long has this process taken you so far, and how much more time do you estimate you'll need to finish?

I'm so glad I don't paint. You seem to enjoy panel work and painting maybe more than the mechanical stuff. Goodonyou, not for me
Yes, for sure ! If I could do nothing but cosmetic repair and paint I’d be happy
Loving the work, great video as always.
