How to claim your Spotify for Artists Profile before your first release

If you are releasing music to Spotify for the first time its sometimes difficult to find your Artist Profile. Learn how to claim your artist profile which then allows you to pitch your first release to Spotify Playlists.
In this video I show you how I claimed my own profile with a brand new artist release.
Although I am using Distrokid, the process should be similar for whichever distributor you are using.
*** UPDATE June 2023*** Distrokid have changed some of their menus. The 'Goodies' menu is no longer named anything - it's now the icon with 4 squares! You can still find the 'Special Access' menu here and check if Distrokid has already found your Spotify for artists profile.

Hello thanks for the video, Is it normal that they create an artist page for the composer lyricist ? I can see it on your video too but it supposed to be add to credit not collaboration right ? thanks

Hi, thanks for your comment. You have to add the composer's real name when registering the song with Distrokid. I have another artist profile under my own name which distrokid or spotify must have found and linked to. In my case it is just the songwriting credit but I guess if you collaborate with another artist it should find them too if you register their name when adding the song. Hope that helps
