Mine wont adjust, got a 1997 ej8 civic european spec, when i adjust it to where I need it to be, tighten screws and it just comes back to where I started after tightening screws lol
Thanks for watching. Sorry to hear that your having that issue. Not sure what could be going on in your case since the nuts are captured inside of the quarter panel.. Goodluck
I have a 4th gen CR-V (2013) and once the screws are loose, they don't move or shift around. Screws are stationary, unless I need to hit the striker harder with a hammer to free a possibly frozen back plate?
For Civic 10th gen (2016-2020) this won't work, since there are no nuts and bolts are screwed right into door frame. So there is absolutely no play in striker plate position
If the two screws are countersunk in the door striker, won’t the striker just self-center back to where it was when you tighten the screws back down? I could see if the screw holes were slotted slightly, you’d have some lateral adjustment room but not with countersunk holes. It looks like it worked, though. Just wondering.
Yes the screws are countersunk for flush fitment, but the backing nuts have play built in so you can dial in the door adjustment as I demonstrated. I appreciate your question and thanks for watching!
I had exactly the same question with yours . Some time ago I took out the doors because I painted my car totally and also change the sealing rubbers. After the installation I watched the engineer do the same thing as we saw in the video, and I thought he was making fun of me trying to adjust the door.
My backing nuts for the striker plate fell inside the frame of the car - 2005 Honda accord. I have baffled about 5 service guys/auto store workers. How do I retrieve my backing nuts, there is no access point that anyone can locate. Thanks!
What happens if mine came completely off in the plate that holds the bolts in fell into the frame of the door and now my door won't lock at all... Is there a way to fix it😢
Thanks for this! I got my CRX back from a paint shop and I had this gap problem, just making the small adjustment got my door aligned perfectly.
Glad it helped!

I appreciate the information. I wasn't aware this is the case on the newer chassis. Hopefully this helps others. Thanks for watching!
Was the interior quieter after? It tightens the seals as well I think
Yes there is an improvement as there was a bit of wind noise due to the gap in the door seal.

What size was that drillbit?
It's called an impact screwdriver

Please help I don't even know what that piece is called to look it up to find a replacement piece
My advice is to remove the interior plastic panel and see if you can gain access to the portion that fell inside. Good luck.
