    Awesome build!

      Would it require a tune update with that ported lower intake?

    At 7:20 ish you refer to the nasty stock runners, what bottom manifold is that you are using and what do you use with your own vmp blowers.

    • @juancl3651
      @juancl3651 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      They send them out to be ported think they should probably come poted when vmp sends them out

    I’m gonna guess the cobra head gaskets are slightly thinner? In a attempt to gain a little bit of compression?

    What crank shaft is in the motor?

  • @Just4Fun8417

    The 5.2L from the GT350 is the voodoo platform not coyote.

    • @tomcronininc
      @tomcronininc 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Basically the same. Just like the aluminator.

    • @michaelharris748
      @michaelharris748 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The voodoo has a cross plane crank pretty sure theyre using a regular coyote crank in this one. The two engines are pretty much the same anyways they share the same type heads and stuff same with the boss 302 roadrunner engine theyre all coyotes pretty much.

      Michael Harris voodoo has different everything compared to a coyote, different heads, intakes, block, voodoo is based on the coyote yes, but the 2 are vastly different

      @itsjustacrowd7557 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Voodoo has a flat plane crank...

    • @michaelharris748
      @michaelharris748 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@justinanderson8394 i know that but its still a coyote engine. The block is punched out factory to be 5.2 instead of 5.0 that is basically it as far as why the block is different. You could turn a coyote into a voodoo...punch it out to 5.2 liters and throw the heads cams and intake on it and viola a voodoo engine. Im aware of the crank being different too but its basically a coyote.

    I hate it when people criticize the stock stuff. Without the OME you are nothing. Respect the engineering, you don’t have to meet 50 state emissions and gas mileage hike delivering great horsepower. Respect the engineers, you’re nothing without them.

  • @NotWithinNormalLimits
    @NotWithinNormalLimits 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Did you use/are you able to use a cross plane crank in this block? Or can you only use flat plane in the 5.2?

    • @VMPPerformanceTV
      @VMPPerformanceTV  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We used a cross plane crank from a coyote block.

    Just curious, why are you guys not using a dry sump oil system for a 1000hp build?

    • @G5Ckxew
      @G5Ckxew 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just a guess, but probably because the dry sump pump mounts where the A/C compressor goes. I can't blame someone from Florida for trying to keep their air conditioning.

    Anyone else notice the custom engine stand @4:13 made specifically for Coyote family engines?
    That right there tells me that it's not even worth their time to work on Chevy engines.

    Those cylinder walls are way too thin for those kind of Horsies

    Isn’t it best to put the head studs in after the head is in place?

    Chucky hmmmm?! built short block with gen1 heads comp cams 12:1 compression, 200 shot. Deep 10's on a budget. Can't wait to see Chucky launch with the trans brake. Might need adjustable struts and shocks to plant them tires!
    Another great VMP video, love the builds and informational videos. LIKE SHARE & SUBSCRIBE!!!

    Does this have the flat plane crank?

  • @jasonwoody8041
    @jasonwoody8041 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    why did you choose to port the intake yet the heads are as cast? i get the whole off the shelf parts but you are swaping out a intake the same way as a customer can swap the heads. im sure there is another reason im just not sure what it is and im curious.

      Jason Woody mod motor heads already flow great. No real need to switch heads

    Am I the only one that noticed? 5.2 coyote? I think is a VOODOO

    • @G5Ckxew
      @G5Ckxew 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It looks like the new 5.2 liter GT500 Predator block has improvements over the 5.2 Voodoo block, but the good news is that you can buy the 5.2 Coyote/Voodoo today - performanceparts.ford.com/part/M-6010-M52A

    • @VMPPerformanceTV
      @VMPPerformanceTV  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is the 5.2 L block but it has a Coyote crank and other parts to separate it from a Voodoo engine.

    Why dont you all just make the Runders to big as if they were ported? Wouldn't that easier and cheaper for everyone to make the that way?
    Ford made s550 heads as cast to match the Roadrunners cnc heads. Cheaper for everyone

    Making something fast that is usually slow would be more interesting the Mustangs the Camaros well that's getting old. Put the motor in like a Ford Explorer and go after the trackhawk
