Here are the materials I used: Materials: 1 piece of 20 gauge square dead soft wire, 14 inches long 24 gauge half-round wire, 8 inches long 1 cabochon, mine is a Rainbow Moonstone crescent, about 20mm tall

Nicely done, can it be done with round wire?
Yes I would think round wire should work, but for the thinner wire since you'd be using round instead of half-round use a smaller gauge like 28 or 26

Can you use 20 gage square wire for this? Or it has to be 16?
