Thanks for watching! I’ve been using this simple cage style design for years on many shapes and sizes of stones. I’ve just changed up the bail. I kept it very simple this time! Hope you enjoy! Have a great week! 💜
Thanks for this design and and for not editing out the struggles to make this piece. It's reassuring for us novices to know that even the most experienced have 'redos' along the way and its a good lesson in patience.
You really cover ever detail, the camera is right on, the design is classy, it fits the stone perfectly and doesn't detract from the beauty of the stone. Just what I was looking for. Thank you!!!
Thanks, Melissa, for this easy to follow tutorial for a great classic design! It's chocked full of great tips, especially on how to ensure your wires are perfectly aligned by using painters tape!🥀
Beautiful finished work. I have difficulty working with square wire as far as bending a group of them . But I see your technique especially with weaving the half wire which I end up getting confused on which side is flat. I'm a hot mess. But determined to learn and do better. I really appreciate you style of teaching.❤❤❤
It's a clean and simple wrap especially for those who like the minimal look. I Know Myself and I think I speak for a quite a few others that we really appreciate the time and effort you put into your tutorials. I love your helpful suggestions. It's really not easy to wrap squares or rectangular shapes. I just muddled through a really difficult top to back drilled rectangular tiger's eye. And at the end of my frustrations. I had to throw two framed work designs because I couldn't quite cage it properly😢
Many Thxs Melissa for the tutorial, material list, resources and much, much more!😊👍🏽 I am curious about what qualities of the stone you are attracted to and in general what are the metaphysical qualities/characteristics of the stone?🌹. 😎
Hi! Thanks for commenting! I’m attracted to stones that have a brilliant flash such as labradorite, rainbow moonstone and the stone in this video is pietersite. Every stone is unique. Pietersite, I feel, is calming. It’s supposed to be a protective stone. 💜

Oh boy! I hate when that happens!
I have to put things down for a little bit and come back to it if things get too frustrating!
Lovely design..
Thanks a lot! 💜☺️

@@ZurickDesigns Many Thxs for your reply! 👍🏼😊
Michelle, looks great, nice and clean. Might I ask, I have been doing basic cages with copper and need to use SS. is there much difference? TIA
Besides the price difference, dead soft sterling is a little more springy than copper. It takes a little getting used to!
Hiii love these vids! Quick q- is it possible to do this using round wire?
Round wire is hard to use with half round wire. They shift around too much. Better to use a weaving pattern with round wire if that makes sense.
Iam always wasting wire. I love your work, i just started doing resins i like wire work an press flowers it take patience
Ove it.
