SPOILER FOR THE ENDING It took me way too long to figure out the little clue of backstory at the end. It looked like the spirit fox of the north was once a normal fox who gave up his body to protect the village or something, and then the player’s fox did the same thing. At least, that’s my take on it.
My theory behind the lore of the game is when the people 1st settled there they befriended some foxes who helped guide them some. But when the settlement disappeared the spirit of the foxes who helped them couldn't restore it, so they had to find a living fox to.
The overall game is good, but the mystical aspect of it and the lack of making it as an open world game with main & side quests like other games would've been better.
Looks beautiful But it kinda bugs me that he barks Foxes do not bark 🙃 We rescued a pair of them, they make gigling sounds and grunts but they do not bark

The free world exploration is not even similiar by any stretch of the word, same goes with the puzzles partly bcs ori doesnt rlly has puzzles, on the other hand I wouldn't call the things in this game puzzles, so maybe you're right. Sry did we watch a different video? I literally only heard one Soundtrack in the 3 hours I've watched this and it sounded nothing like any I heard in both oris. I have to say though i dont remember every track from ori, mostly because there was more than one.
To me, this game is about a sick, twisted deity that leaves their worshipers to die, breaks a fox's leg, then posses their body when they die, using their corpse to their own needs. No, this is not a joke. I feel like I never should have woken that bastard up to begin with.
To clarify my previous comment, I don't think she meant to kill you the first time, that was a accident. She leads you to where you're supposed to die and become a Aurora Borealis by closing the fox couple stone that's sickening the earth. Even if you never wake her up you would still wind up dying from starvation because the world is pretty much dead. At least by dying at the stones you can run the skies creating light and healing the earth forever.
To me, this deity is part of a pair. When one is missing, calamity ensues, as it isn't at full strength. Neither for it's display needed to keep it's worshippers (so they turned away and invited even more corruption), nor to keep the world safe (as you needed two to keep the stones together). I agree with the others, that the first tumble was likely an accident. The spirit tried to remove the corruption, as it noticed it made the player sick and didn't expect the whole floor to come down with you on it. A deity that would not have cared, would not have taken such a hit to it's own strength (becoming a mere wisp), in order to keep you alive.
The jumping in this game is an atrocity And hopefully at some point you can have build up of the blue flowers instead of having a run back and forth a hundred times
I am at chapter 5. Near the end of it when it turns red. I need a staff to open the cave that leads to chapter 6. I watched a video and went to the place with the staff. It was not there. (The place with the staff is by the portal.) Is it just a glitch or did they move the staff to another place. Please reply soon.
When i saw this weirdly enough i remembered another game called Kena: Bridge of Spirits 🤔😄 Anyway Spirit of The North will be free next week on Epic Games Store
While not really the same in a lot of aspects, I found Sky: Children of the Light to be similar enough and even better if you want to try that out and haven't 👌
WHY do games like this not let you save? What possible advantage can there be, to the game's appeal? Instead of taking time to trek around and work everything out, I have no option but to cheat as I simply don't have time to replay 2 hours of play in search of everything if I've failed to reach a chapter end. So, thanks for the guide!! Great game but for me spoiled by lack of self-save option.
Infuriating! I think rest mode keeps game status, doesn't it? Perhaps I'll rely on that next time, I stopped playing this but would like to get a bit further. Love the game, though my sense of direction is terrible so I get confused navigating around environments where it looks similar in all directions!

56.24 I get to the plants and get the magic but no matter how many times i do it, it wont get rid of the red/bad stuff. Even though all the other runes are lit. Idk what to do but wasted 40 minutes on this chapter to not be able to get passed it and i'm past the 2 hour mark to refund since i think my game must be glitched :/
