i broke my neck when I was 15. Dislocated C1, 2, 3. At my age of 74 I experience severe vertigo when I get up from my dentists chair having had my teeth cleaned. I can sit but not stand up for up to an hour. My Neurologist eliminated the possibility of blood flow obstruction. No one else tried to help me. I diagnosed myself and cleared BPPV in my right ear which remedied my daily dizziness. I had MS earlier in my life which has been in remission for 20 years. I have about 50-60 brain lesions. I can move around with a cane. I believe my vertigo is caused by weakness in the right of my neck as the right side of my body suffered the worst of my MS attacks. I was able to simulate the Dentist chair vertigo attack by throwing my head back and looking at the ceiling. I started your exercises and am seeing improvement. I think it will take some time. I have hope now where there was none. Thank Yoy

Ex-Sufferer here, i did get cured so here's some advice for you guys :
-Get yourself a good osteopath, they are very familiar with it and have a whole body approach. As sometime even a tight psoas can end up doing some cervical damage.
-Yoga ( yes yoga ) twice a day everyday, just do it whole body
-Walk a lot, everyday go for either a big walk or several and while you do so look straight ahead, no PHONE.
-Throw you phone away, just don't look at it anymore.
-Take a break every 30-45 min from the computer, move, strech whatever
-Physical activity ( swim, run, i don't care, just move your body ) 2-3 times a week
-Calm down, anxiety just makes it worst
-Heat is your best friend, get an electric heat pad and use it on you trapezius / neck
Once you actually find you routine progress is VERY fast, your body wants it as much as you
No kidding within a month you'll feel better and within 3 its like nothing ever happened. Just remember muscle memory works both way so don't fuck up in the future.

You definitely need to find a provider, like a chiropractor, who has successfully helped people as there are many tissues in the cervical spine and related areas that may cause cervical vertigo that need to be addressed...some good advice in this comment...this may help as well: th-cam.com/video/gk4qY2sXFOg/w-d-xo.html

The rotation with resistance immediately helped when turning right and then brought symptoms when turning left-that is the issue for sure. Unfortunately, I'm with Kaiser Permanente and if they can't medicate or solve the problem quickly they dismiss you. I even had a ENT say that dizziness doesn't come from ear problems it comes from the neck. I'm at a loss as to what to do. I'm so tired and miserable. Good luck everyone. Thank you! I'm so glad I found this. It has really really really helped with my dizziness. My dizziness comes at night and is related to anxiety and body imbalance. This has helped me immensely. Last week I couldn't even hold to 10 seconds. Every day 3 or 4 rounds and today I managed 40 seconds. Dizziness has also really reduced but I have been diagnosed with anxiety and mild sensory processing disorder for many years. When I am anxious I always get dizzy during FFF response. This has however helped immensely!!!

    • @cjmacq-vg8um

my situation isn't vertigo. its not triggered by motion. it doesn't go away. its constant dizziness that fluctuates only in severity. the only time i don't feel dizzy is when i'm asleep. it intensifies with alcohol. one drink will make me nauseous and vomit for hours. so, i haven't had a drink in 12 years. i've had this condition since march of 2009. i've been to several doctors and emergency rooms and none of them give a damn. i've had several brain-scan MRIs scheduled but ALL OF THEM fell through for reasons i can't control. one of those reasons is my dizziness prevents me from lying still long enough for the MRI. another reason - i don't have a ride home. the medical industry comes up with excuse after excuse not to treat me.
I'M DESPERATE FOR HELP! i know i can't be the first person in medical history with these symptoms. but no doctor cares enough to even do any research! i've been suffering with this HORROR for every second of every day for 12 YEARS! i wish the hell someone would HELP ME!

Found your channel today which seemed like divine intervention 😇 Since cervicogenic dizziness is a diagnosis of exclusion, current research has shown that patients have seen an average of 4.5 healthcare providers before getting a diagnosis. In fact most family practitioners will treat the secondary symptoms, such as migraines - with limited success. It is the greatest challenge I’ve ever faced, and the most terrifying and debilitating condition. I love that your channel is all about education - most people don’t know where to go for help and its unendingly frustrating getting bounced all over the place, even for someone with extensive knowledge of anatomy and healthcare experience. Really looking forward to meeting you at your practice and doing these exercises in the meantime.

Great video! My Dr gave me these same exercises some time ago and they were very effective. He added two others, similar to the isometric lateral flexors that you shared, except those two exercises were done by applying pressure front to back (applying palm to the forehead and resisting against it and then behind the head & applying resistance against that palm (pressure going back)), instead of laterally. Thank you for sharing.🥰

The back of my head from the base of the skull and up is so tender it feels like it is tight sometimes it stings when I massage it, also my jaw and face feels tense. Could this also be a cause? My chiropractor always has to adjust my jaw and the base of my skull, for the most part it helps but the dizziness is still there.
