Shawn I watch every sunday and midweek to learn and also to support a fellow veteran. I tell people to check you out on youtube all the time. I would like to request a fireside chat video covering your assessment of the geopolitical situation also if you would consider doing a gas mask video and improvised mopp gear.
Hi, i'm from India ( BHARAT) this is my i first i watched your video. I want to be a solo campaigner.
Corporal is like Bruce Lee but for the woods. Why? Well guess
watching now. We are late risers Thank you again Sir
Hey Shawn!
Just saying TY for this!
I was wondering what happened to that "Floating Stretcher" type thing where I've seen you use it for other videos.
What are the suggested "pole thicknesses" though & if you had them, would it be better with metal poles or stay with wood?
Just so you are aware, I watch your midweek videos all the time. I don't think I've missed a single one. Of course I also watch these Sunday videos. This is one of the best channels I've ever subscribed to. Thank you Corporal. Your hard work and dedication are much appreciated.
You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. I watch all your Sunday and mid week video's and learn something all the time. Thanks for all the content you put out for us!!
I get the notifications for the midweek and the Sunday videos, can't understand why anyone else wouldn't?
I get the notification every single time you upload a video.
I live in The Rocky Mountains and I could never find wood that straight or ground that soft. I still learn a lot from Corporal's Corner videos and I enjoy watching. I think I've saved about 50 of his videos.
Look for the mid week vids yall! The Corporal showed a more in depth tutorial on that trap, plus 2 more variations. Thanx for time and knowledge Corporal. Outstanding AF, as always!
Yup! Saw it.
1wish I have is that he'd do something to give the how can this work blow by blow DYI on is a "bottle styled set line" for fishing.
Supposedly, there's a way to attach line to a bottle to throw it out, but, something acts as an automatic reel to pull a caught fish in.
The part I'd like to know is what's acting as the automatic reel??
TH-cam has certain folks ( usually in places like the Philippines or maybe Malaysia) that do this, but things don't get fully explained.
I'd also like Shawn to try out using "plastic bottle" cordage instead of bank line or anything else, just to test the durability factors between anything one could use.
I still get notifications 😊
Yay! Finally a Bag Stretcher Bed and Floating at That!! Excellent!!
Never have a problem finding your videos. Right there when I open TH-cam.
Corporals' floating bed using bank line for the win! On a project and was late watching, but WAS notified. This past mid-week traps video was tops!
LOL! God made dirt and dirt don't hurt. Love that you stir with a stick and same stick is your utensil. Awesome video
You mentioned that you feel no one watches your midweek videos, I do and find them useful information that I store away for future use. Keep doing it.
The abundance of straight similar sized logs you are able to cut is astounding.
Thank you again, I enjoy all your videos as there is always something to learn. Good luck with all your endeavors. On Sundays when I open my computer your video is the first one on the screen. Thanks again.
Haha, I love when you picked up the ‘roni’. I bet “backyard’ campers are going nuts! I LOVE IT!😁
Been camping my whole life and never thought of using the trash bag as a suspension bed. Great video.
God made dirt and dirt don't hurt! That's gold dude
I really love your new approach, keeping it simple, I think I've learned way more and find it easier to remember what you've shown.
Just received my hard-core hammer with the with your logo on it can’t wait to take it out this next weekend and give it a shot. I will admit everything that I have picked up that you suggested, and or been a part of. I have enjoyed very much.
Just wanted to say, I never would have thought of sticking the knife into a log and then drawing the bag across the blade to cut the sealed end off the bag, LOL! Brilliant, and yet common sense at the same time! You're still teaching me something every week. Thanks! --Dan
I'm not complaining, I watch your shows when I can my mom has been sick and I'm needed there a lot for right now .but still love your help
Can't speak for anyone else but I have been getting all notifications and have been watching all the videos. Great stuff!! Keep up the good work.
same here I don't understand why others don't but I did notice that youtube will change the notification setting if you don't watch the youtubers content on the regular (its happened to me cause their are some that I just don't watch anymore and the notifications got turned off)
The mid-week videos are outstanding.
My Hardcore hammer/hatchet arrived as advertised.
TH-cam must not appreciate the chopping block & ubiquitous rake in your videos - miss the lost rake personally.
God made dirt and dirt don't hurt 😂 LMAO 😂. Right up there with, If it ain't rainin' we ain't trainin'. As always, Thanks for all you do.
Watch the mid week videos everyone, yall missed a good one. As always outstanding AF Sir. Keep em rolling!
"KISS"...Used that in the British Army in the 80's. Great acronym. Like the set up, well done and thanks.
Yessir K.I.S.S. is always better in the long run
Thanks for the video
I'm glad your doing minimal stuff. I like it because I already have what you have and want something simple sometimes. Nice.
I love it when you repurpuse projects , it proves that there is always more than one way to do things .
It's so unfortunate that people aren't watchin the midweek video. I'm enjoying them for a ten minute break from work. I will say though the class style you did for essentials wasn't for me....I watched em and upvoted for sure but I'm not into classroom situ type stuff. Keep it up Im still here to watch no matter what youtube does.
I don’t always comment..:: but I do always like: do what you want. Your channel your life! Cheers
Appreciate the way your camera is zoomed in for knots, etc. It's helpful
A clove hitch with a stopper knot? What a great idea!
I'm always checking this channel no matter what. I call it my sunday camping recap on what I need to catch up on.
I specifically waited till I had dinner cooked to watch this video so I could also have something really good to eat while I watch Corporal eat good food!
Twice a week, Corporals Corner I go and seek.
Thank you for doing what you do.
Huge fan of showing the technicals specifically the knots.
Guess I'm part of the 1%. As i always get notifacations of both mid-week and Sunday Vids.
As do I 😎
You do a great job with your videos. Very educational. Suggestion for another outdoor subject matter, “Bathrooms in the woods” if you have not done it. Being ex military the latrine was important part of our training.
Yay! I finally managed to score one of the skillets off the Etsy store!!! Those are made of unobtainium around here. I've been looking for months. Nothing close to be found.
My fav type of bed!!
I want that shirt!!! trying to deal with the bellends meant to be special needs teachers at my son’s school.. I gotta say bellend, eases the firing in my mood.
Great alterations to bed and shelter. Excellent work!
I watch you every Sunday please keep it up and going.
I like the mid week videos and do watch.
Excellent video, bank line is awesome stuff.
I watch your videos, I am too old to get out into the woods/desert any more, but still enjoy your videos and the things you teach. Thank you.
My Sunday evening is now complete. Thank you, sir! I haven’t missed a mid week video yet. I don’t know how people are missing them.
I get my notifications every Sunday morning and the mid week ones too! Realy look forward to them keep up the good work👍
Thanks for always keeping us in new content. I may have a suggestion. Can you think of problems that we may have in our camp, mimic them, and then show us a remedy for those situations? Thanks again for the videos , but most importantly thank you for your service.
You have the most informative and humble outdoors channel on TH-cam. All the experience without the ego. It has become my overall favorite channel.
Great to watch your videos and your screen / focus picture are so clear that makes the egg burro look even better! 👍👍😎
Just catching up am getting all the notifications and am trying to watch mid week as well as Sunday
Seems to me that the plastic bags would be much much more comfy!
I will be watching them online class you are a good and humble teacher, Thanks Mr Kelly
I love the mid week video with the skills. Step by step, they add value!
I watch your videos all the time. Then I go to the Bush and try and do some of the things you've done 👍👍
First video in about 2 months that I didn't have to go search for. TH-cam actually pushed this one to me.
I watched your video one day later due to family obligations. But I never miss them. Your midweek video was an absolute delight and so is this one. I understand your frustration. I just don't understand how so many subscribers don't watch your videos. I don't blame YT totally. I got all notifications. Your work is solid & true. I believe it's the way things go. A lot hit the follow button, many watch, a few do. Unfortunately young ones especially prefer tiktok bs instead of true & hard work. Please, just keep on going for the true believers. 💪💪💪🙏🙏🙏👏👏👏
Your skills videos and back to basics videos rock!
Another fun and informative video! Thanks Corporal Kelly! I don’t understand why YT would try to dampen Bushcraft type content. There has to be a better platform for you to grow. Looking forward to receiving and using my Hardcore Hammer! 💪🤠👍
If it's Sunday, it must be Corporals Corner!
Excellent video. The floating bed is the best and easiest to put up. KISS is the way to go.
Keep up the great work Shawn!
Nice build and looking forward to see what you are bringing to your channel! Cheers 🍻
Great video !!!! Never miss a single video , mid week or corporal Sunday!!!!!
This video will answer my wifes' question on why she's carring a backpack full of feathers.
Floating Bed was awesome
God made Dirt, and dirt don't hurt actually made me laugh out loud. XD Brilliant.
I watched your mid week video. It was very informative.
Shawn, thanks for another OAF video. I'm very glad to see your positivity has returned over the last few months. I know the world can be a vampire when smashing your pumpkins. I'm so glad you aren't going crazy with paracord tricks like many others have been recently. I do like the toggles on the RDL and I do like paracord for soft-shackles but I've been yearning to ditch paracord and you are blazing that trail! Long runs of paracord are just so fraught with peril. Snagging, fraying, kinking...bulky, heavy, and pricy compared to good ol' bank-line!
You seem to have had a falling-out with the bowline knot. I'm curious about that. It was the first knot I learned and I learned it from YOU! I find it easier to tie a bow-line than whatever that common-man knot is you've been doing. Caveat: I now do cowboy bowlines. The bowline, arbor, marlin-spike hitch, and slip-knots are my favorite knots. They are so easy and I think it's really cool how they all start off the same by making a loop, folding it over and pulling a bite through. I've come to look at them in evolutionary terms. Marlin-spike hitch is the common ancestor. It evolves into the slip-knot and bowline. The slip-knot evolves into an arbor knot.
KISS rulz! Why carry 2+ forms of cordage when one roll of bankline rules them all (and in the darkness binds them!)? (I would hate to have to make pack-straps from bankline though. New challenge!)
If I might deviate from KISS just a bit...KICKASS: Keep It Corporal Kelly And Simple, Stupid!
I mentioned wondering what would / could happen if Shawn decided to try "plastic bottle" cordage?
Seems to be a way to turn any plastic bottle into cordage & go from there.
Not sure on the expense?
I'd imagine say up to 3.00$ or more for a 2 litre or depending on the company, 16 OZ bottle & then you'd need to hook up a razor on something so you could pull the bottle through it to get "cordage".
I wonder what the durability of that is depending on the thickness of "Plastic Cordage"?
Would be cool if Shawn does this & gets into things like durability & tensile strength
@@eventsotherthingswithchris9019 Can't really get onboard with that. The whole point of putting cordage in your kit is because it's a pain to create.
I’m headed over to watch, like, and comment on your mid-week video! It’s a shame that so many of us aren’t watching such useful content. Thank you sir!
Thank you Corporal for showing us a great setup.
Why does food always look better when its prepared like this?
Great stuff Corporal.
Tastes better too.
Just wanted to say that I loved the mid week vid. That was great content.
Another outstanding AF video! Your loyal fans are here, and we wait eagerly for your what you do next. Trust in yourself and the process. Just look at where it has brought you so far.
Outstanding. Making something great from minimal gear. Adapting to whatever is available. Doing it reasonably fast. Showing the way.
The videos have been great. I love the basics. I'm digging the mid week videos. I'm stuck in the house most of this week. Chopped on by the doc.
I enjoyed this one (as I do them all!). Braver man than me sleeping on the floating bed, I would have had to do more than double up the line! 😂
I watch all your vids and learn from each one. I get notification when a video drops and immediately watch.
Innovative AF... Good job Corp. K. As always stellar craftsmanship building something useful and practical. Sleeping above ground is necessary in some scenarios. "Catch y'all in a few" 👍 Thanks for the work, much appreciated.
Enjoy watching watching your outstanding videos
This video was Great! I would still like to see your finished deer stand. And your cabin.
"Outstanding" job well done
Really a great choice to make a video about. Being versatile with just a few items is a great way to carry less. Great video !
Got the notification straight away
Yeah this is the first notification I’ve received from TH-cam concerning the corps corner in years even though I’ve checked numerous times to ensure I had rang the bell for notifications, I’m hoping this is just the first of many but who knows when I’ll receive the next notification with a track record like TH-cam.
OUTSTANDING VIDEO AS ALWAYS.
I didn't think them floating strings were gonna hold but they did that was awesome thanks for sharing
I enjoy any DIY raised bed videos. I am of an age where I often have to 'go' a few times a night and crawling up and down off/onto the ground is a PITA enough to make me not even want to go camping. I need to try out hammock camping, as well.
Outstanding AF video on the floating bed. ..
Love it.
I'm getting notifications. Watching around my work schedule. Good content!! Thanks!!
Time for another badass solo overnighter in the woods. Let's get to it!
Another solid teaching video Corporal. Keep them coming! I really enjoy your midweek videos.
I watched your mid week video and I have getting the notification for them, it was really good
I look forward to both videos every week.
A really nice video, and very inspirational for a simple camp.
On the floating bed, I'd personally have used at least twice as much cordage,
but that is simply because I am extremely paranoid about the bed failing,
and I tend to over engineer such a contraption.
The food of course made me extremely hungry, as usual.
And the improvised utensil was a nice touch.
I am looking forward to both the next Mid-week Video, and the next Sunday Video.
I am wondering what you have planned, and am eagerly anticipating what you'll surprise us with.
Brilliant setup that you have got here that gets you off the ground and under cover. Thanks for sharing these ideas. I don’t think I could manage those knots like you do so expertly but I’ll sure give it a go. Thanks.
Excellent video as always!
You should consider doing a series of overnighters with green horns that want to learn and don't mind doing some heavy lifting - maybe some sort of contest to be your duo for a day/night and demonstrate that value of a 2nd person. Then do a mock injury and show us how to drag them out of the woods with a pretend broken leg!
The 5 million uses for drum liners. Thank you for another excellent video!
I enjoy all your videos whether in the woods or building the hunting shack. At 78, I don't camp anymore, but fun to watch someone else while comfortable in my recliner with no mosquitoes or heat. Semper Fi.
P.S. I am getting all your videos as soon as they post.
