May I suggest a cap from a milk or water bottle for your pole to sit in to protect the tent material from the pressure of the rim of the pole. Of course I would like to see some vids like this but in a desert environment.
Dude, enough of the Ron Popiel, I get it. This is how you feed the mortgage. But like others you're turning this into infomercial land. Cool shelter, interesting idea.
I started Camping/Hunting/Fishing over 50yrs Ago! All you do and post are just stuff I have been doing since then!! Thank You for sharing to the "Younger" Generation!!
This man is the best in the business. Yes, we are aware of the products you sell and survival mastery. Can you donate just two minutes of advertising. I understand you need to self promote but this is an over kill.
Hey Corporal!!! Wonderful video! I hope that you and your wonderful family had a great Thanksgiving. 🦃You always bring such great content! It is always a joy to watch you bring skills and wonderfully made items that you have designed. Keep up the outstanding work, and remember that there are those of us who stand by you completely. Keep doing things your way and however you need to do it….do it eaxactly that way. I am so proud of you and being a part of your journey. You are an inspiration and I am thankful for you being a mighty man of valor! Thank you for having a heart of gold, and balls of steel!!! Keep on soaring higher, brother! Love and blessings to you and your family. It warmed my heart when you spoke so kindly about your former student’s success….those are the moments that make Corporal’s Corner absolutely FIRE! 🏕️🪵🔥🤗🛡️⚔️💪🏼🛡️⚔️💪🏼🛡️⚔️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Cpl. Shawn, I was curious if you could visit your "fox hole" shelter from a year ago. I was wondering how well it has held up. And if it ain't raining, we ain't training..what about those snow flakes I saw in this video? Stay safe . And I hope you and the misses had a great Thanksgiving.
As always GREAT VIDEO!! Thanks for the new ideas, I carried one of those shelter halves for about 18 yrs and never dreamed of using it as an individual shelter! Loved that you brought back the Bushcraft Broom! Hope you had a Great and Blessed Thanksgiving!!
I went through Army basic training in 2001, and we still used the shelter-half during our FTX. It's cool to see it, but I'd never sleep under one of those damn things again 😂.
Good morning Mr Kelly happy Thanksgiving to you and your family and a loved ones. Thank you for the awesome video. I’ve learned a lot from your channel. I subscribe to your channel over four years now I enjoy every bit of it watching in fact, the ones that you did on your first videos I also subscribe to your Instagram post and I bought a bunch of stuff and I’m a Marine Corps veteran myself served 24 years. I was the second tanker in the Marine Corps 24 years, served arm, medically, discharged disabled
I can’t say for certain, but I am almost sure that the same stick/rake you used today is the same one that you have been using for the past 15 years. Well done!
Did something similar w/a tarp back in my 20s (70 now) for a hunting trip. Diff being laid a mat of criss-cross small branches covered w/dry leaves: insulation. Then set up my ground cloth & tarp lean-to. Open side faced a bank. Made a vertical cut into the bank & fire made in the cut. Old army surplus trench tool & machete, 2 small pots, a cup, spoon & fork, my belt knife. I still have that old machete, may have that belt knife tucked away somewhere. Rifle still w/me, though somewhat used looking. Kind of broke & all my budget allowed back then.
Thanks for another great video. Was great to see the return of the homemade rake. Just last week, someone was asking about it in the comments. Excellent idea for the shelter half. Shows that they can still be useful, especially when it can be very hard to find two to go together.
Finally I managed to get one. The cowboy skillet. This time shipping abroad available 😊. It's gonna be fry-time in the Swedish forests when it arrives. 😁🥓🥩
Hey folks if you dont like him selling things and others stuff he does just thing of it this way this is his job. This is what makes his living to pay the bills .
I sometimes would set up my shelter half the same way winter weekend camping While in Jr high and high school in the early 70's out in the desert SE of Mesa Az. Also used a WW2 marine combat pack.
You're trying to make a livin' and work it, I get it. However, Eight minutes of straight sales pitch, in a nineteen minute video is more than enough. I'm not here to be sold stuff, even if I respect the effort you're putting in. As I've said before, I'm more into learning how to get the most out of the stuff I've got, how to do without it, or improvise it in the field. For instance, I'm totally going to try that turkey frying rig!
Just a suggestion. You have all these knowledge and experience. So far they are towards very short term shelters. I am looking at a bugging out, with some timeline, building using bushcraft a survival "permanent" shelter home for the rest of my life off grid. Wonder if you could contribute to a working model. Meaning. If you were isolated as a soldier. Indefinite stay and survival in the wilderness . No real supplies from the outside. Just tools from military and what the environment provides. Build something "permanent". A military earthship. Some topic addressed: E g. Cannot rely on getting firewood 24/7. Especially health. Would certainly like a "economical" fire where fuel wood is made efficient.
Great video...very nice shelter...cool if you ask me...thanks for showing an old airborne recon man i new shelter config...keep the videos coming....have been watching for years your channel and how it has grown...thank you
Another great video. Thanks for the idea with the shelter half. While I agree with you that Survival Mastery is a great online learning platform and good value for the money, the intro for the courses you have going has not piqued my interest, making me want to pull the trigger. As more courses come online I might find something I like. All the best luck with the platform.
Already have the frontier and cowboy skillets. And the Campcraft Outdoors bag. Just scored the folding handle skillet. Looking forward to the cold handle skillet!
Outstanding! The return of the three tyne bushcraft rake. If true temper or Fiskars catches wind, they may try to beat you to the patent office! Keep up the great work!
Hey, that is great and new! It is the first time that I can listen to your words in my own language (German) and not only read a translation in the subtitle. Last week I was lucky to order one of your folding skillets. I know the way is a long one, it's far away, but I hope it will aarive here next week. Thank you very much for all. Ulrike
AND WE GET THE RETURN OF THE 3 PRONG LIMB BROOM ??????? BONUS !!!!!!!! HEY SHAWN , EVEN THOUGH I GIVE YOU ALOT OF CRAP FOR BEING A CRAYON EATING MARINE AND I WAS ARMY AS WELL AS CRAP FOR OTHER THINGS ..... I WANT TO WISH YOU AND YOUR FAMILY A VERY HAPPY THANKSGIVING ( BELATED ) !!!!!
What I love about that shelter , other than the simplicity, is that I could easily cover the opening w my drum liner or grabber blanket if need be. ANOTHER great video😃
Corp. I’ve never commented on anything before but I have to now. I laughed out loud when I saw the teaser of the T leg frying in the oil. Only a marine.
Loved that gear and those memories! I remember the distinct smell the WWII gear had and using it on crisp clear fall nights with my Dad and Brothers!!! What fond memories!

Dude, enough of the Ron Popiel, I get it. This is how you feed the mortgage. But like others you're turning this into infomercial land.
Cool shelter, interesting idea.
There’s the bush rake I’ve been missing. 😊
I would love to see another over nighters in the dugout you built
Woohoo! The “rake” has returned for Thanksgiving. Can’t wait for the cold handle skillet to arrive. Another awesome AF video Corp.👍
Happy Turkey day sir, may you keep having great adventures and continue to teach the art of survival to us all

Nice! It’s cool to see you using the 3prong stick for a rake again, too!
Great video with a great vision on another pitch for the US military Shelter Half…. Genius Idea 💡
Thanks corporal Kelly
Nice, I have two of these shelter halves and planning a two night outing for my 50th later in December. I think I’ll try this configuration.
I also have 2 shelter halves
Love you Corporal and thank you for continuing to expand our educational capabilities!

Hey that Turkey looks pretty good
Thats shelter 1/2 is genius. Good Job.

Same. Been wanting to see it and the fort/deer stand on stilts.
He built walls around the stilts and now it is a 2 story tiny home.
Ah, the shelter half. What a blast from the past. I have (not so) fond memories of those - haha! Semper Fi!
We made Shelter Half condominium once, military poncho in the middle, 4 Shelter halfs forming a square.
I went through Army basic training in 2001, and we still used the shelter-half during our FTX. It's cool to see it, but I'd never sleep under one of those damn things again 😂.

Been a while since we have seen the bushcraft broom!
I can’t say for certain, but I am almost sure that the same stick/rake you used today is the same one that you have been using for the past 15 years. Well done!
Only Fools and horses - UK comedy. Trigger has a special broom he has had since he had since he started as a street cleaner 😂
Didn't know if you were going to eat the turkey legs or brain someone with them. They were huge.
The Corporal Rake! Yes! Haha cool. Happy Thanksgiving from Canada.
Happy Thanksgiving, keep up the good work.
Love that rake!

Simple and effective shelter, great job. 11 Ohm
Survival mastery booked! Thank you, Sir, for this great opportunity! 👍
Be safe everyone with the holidays ❤

Happy Thanksgiving Cpl...thanks again..
Hey folks if you dont like him selling things and others stuff he does just thing of it this way this is his job. This is what makes his living to pay the bills .
I would like to see a video of you revisiting some old builds you did just curious how they are holding up
I miss the epic builds, but I get it, time is too tight. I also miss the campfire cooking and wish you could do that more instead of just eggs.
Outstanding AF!!
0:46 - My man brings his Festivus Pole into the bush in case feats of strength break off... He is THAT is prepared.
Outstanding video 👍
Stay frosty Corp!
Oh the rake! I’ve been waiting for its return. Once you clear the ground you can use it for all kinds of stuff. 👏
Came to post this. A triumphant return!
That's a super quick, simple and easy setup
Finally got in on time to order a folding skillet. I love my kids even though they won't let me watch YT on Sunday mornings
I really enjoy seeing the gear from WW2. My dad served then. In the 1960's we camped all the time in an old green army tent. Loved it.
I had one for 6 years!! Used it the same way before. Had odd number of guys in my company and platoon. So I was odd man out!
Good video. I was jumping for joy when I seen the famous Corporal's rake.
I use my cowboy skillet and meat fork every weekend.
Deep fried turkey is amazing. The only hard part would be hauling the oil out into the woods. ^-^
Happy Thanksgiving and thanks for the great videos
Cool use of the shelter half. Looks like a good shelter. Happy Thanksgiving.
Always Outstanding AF.
Old school nice!
I sometimes would set up my shelter half the same way winter weekend camping
While in Jr high and high school in the early 70's out in the desert SE of Mesa Az. Also used a WW2 marine combat pack.
Nice to see the return of the stick rake.
I like that shelter. Not sure of shelter half dimensions, but now I have to see if I can replicate it with a space blanket. Happy holidays, Shawn.
Always a good time to visit your program and see what’s new.
God bless
That's one righteous looking turkey leg. Make that two legs.
Awesome!! You brought out the chicken foot. I missed it for so long.
Keep rockin it CPL !!!!
Happy thanksgiving corporal

Neat 3 videos you got mike who are you trying to promote?
That's what's turned me off from watching his videos for the past year now. The whole things a sales ad.
unlike Your videos , @overland

Fried or smoked turkey legs or my absolute favorite on Thanksgiving every year I go for a leg 😂
Dayum, I never thought of a shelter from a shelter half. Learned something new. But to be honest, I ditched the canvass well before too damn heavy.
