I think we should call this series "Lamians tech bro era (attempted)". But I know it's not your usual content and you always say "I don't know what I'm talking about" but you make what you're doing in the video very easy for us to follow and understand. Also we trust your reliable source Lamian for your face
i love these types of videos!! i’m more of a fine arts person and break a sweat whenever it comes to computers, but you always make these videos easy to follow/understand even when it isn’t a tutorial ^^
Not a tech person but I love these videos, it’s not too hard to understand & I like hearing ppl talk abt things they’re interested in!! Hope u make more :D
Considering that a 1080p screen is a plug-and-play upgrade for the t440p, im very surprised that the t480 didnt just come with a 1080p ips panel (or even a 720p ips panel)
The LCD is wobbling because you didn't install brackets, this panel doesn't have mounting plates like original does, you just screwed in those screws for nothing, in future you may have problem because panel is not secured and lcd cable may get pinched.
Probably to late for Lamian, but should be possible to re-use bracket from old screen. I also recomend remove/disconnect battery, including internal if any. Screen connector includes power line (maybe 19v) which can fry data lines on connection with screen. Unplug any laptop battery first to prevent.
honestly, i don't remember how i did it. i think the tape legitimately did nothing. friction seemed to do the job once i set it up right you might as well get brackets for the screen, cause apparently it might cause problems and pinch the display cable. (a commenter tells me)
it's awesome! viewing angles are great and the colours are less washed out by the backlight. brightness "feels" more or less the same, maybe brighter (the TN panel was not bad for brightness) I don't see a massive improvement in battery, but then again I haven't tested it much

I felt that there was a bit *too* much jargon, but hey glad you enjoyed!
Lamian be like "Look at the colors!" And then proceeds to show us a black screen.
hahahha uhhh haha
not you repeatedly apologizing to the computer as if you're hurting it 😂
"the T480 can not feel pain. Do not think too hard about it."

Chez video is how you think a repair will go but the actual process is like this lol

Let’s go! Lamían back with the tech content!!! I enjoy the massacre of wires and keyboards in the background too.
These type of videos are so relaxing 😌
For backlighting on mine, I just clip a reading light onto the top of my screen - job done! 😉
Looks great. I have a T480s. I’ll get a T480 too. Because I like them. Good vid! 😀
einstein said, if a disorganized desk represents a disorganized mind, what does an empty desk mean
hmm!!!
Tech boy lamian is back!

That was pretty painful to watch, but I just couldn't turn away.
Nice! Btw t480 back case is one of the hardest to open lol.
he did surgery on a laptop
💀
i like your funny words, magic man! (i will pretend to understand the computer jargon for the sake of being a lamian enjoyer)
computer
This was so chaotic but in a good way 😭. You did some things wrong tho 🗿 (has no idea how to do any of this stuff)
all of it is wrong all of it
Hello i have this laptop and curious if i can change it to 14.5 inch ips. And if it can be done please tell me the part should i use.
Hey can i stick a screen from a yoga model on here ?
Hey, I'm trying to upgrade my T480 too! How can I see if this same screen N140HCG-GQ2 works for me?
The LCD is wobbling because you didn't install brackets, this panel doesn't have mounting plates like original does, you just screwed in those screws for nothing, in future you may have problem because panel is not secured and lcd cable may get pinched.
would double-sided tape be fine?
@@onideer Should be possible to take bracket off old screen and use that to stabilise new one.

Yoo! Tech lamian content
Where did you bought the IPS Panel?
*buy
got one of these without a drive and the 1080p screen for 95£, good deal
Framework should make a keyboard with a trackpoint, that would be so nice.
i just keep looking at the keyboard in the upper left hand corner i just know that baby makes some GOOD fuckin clicks
klock klock
I can’t screw my new panel down either. Did you really use tape to do it?
honestly, i don't remember how i did it. i think the tape legitimately did nothing. friction seemed to do the job once i set it up right

@@Lamian Putting the front bezel on seemed to hold it in place just fine. I did order brackets from ebay to install later though.
Don't need the ifixit tools. Fingers are enough. Switched a panel today. Took 7 minutes and I'm a noob.
I ordered this exact panel a few days ago. How are you liking it so far?
