Hola, sabes dónde lo puedo comprar?
True craftsman, one of last places on earth that still produces hand made high quality tools. It's good to see craftsman who still take pride in their work and produce absolute perfection.
Incrível!
This process was a joy to watch, and then that final test where tissue paper thin shavings of wood appeared brought tears to my eyes. WONDERFUL! True Japanese artistry.
I always buy Made in Japan tools, lifetime quality ❤
I have huge respect for the Japanese people , disciplined and proud of their handwork. What a country 👍
I'm always amazed at the dedication and impeccable quality Japanese craftsman put into their work. OSU!
Simply fantastic how these old masters produce such wonderful hand tools according to old traditions
Respect to these old masters 🙏
Fantastische Dokumentation.
Serious RESPECT for every aspect of this video! The people working in that cramped space with several forges, that heat, wow. Also, the camera work was wonderful for such a dark, dusty and dangerous place to move around in. Awesome use of ambient lighting. Then the woodworking... just wow. That bespoke hydraulic chiseling machine is amazing. I will watch this over several more times. Japanese workmanship is top notch and they prove it every day, folks.
The chiseling machine isn't hydraulic but it is amazing!
My jaw literally dropped when the planer was able to extract that thin sheet from the wood. Literally paper thin. Amazing craftmanship.
Did you know that there are wood shaving competitions in Japan where the thinnest and longest strip wins? Literally down to the microns. To create smooth wooden surfaces, they use these planes instead of sandpaper.
Kids... you are literally amazed when you remember your name.
Paper is many, many times thicker than that shaving. So much for "literally".
@@YaoiMastahincrível!
When scraped with a hand planer, the surface of the wood becomes glossy.
Ich verneige mich vor diesem Können. Super.🙌
Buna seara,v-am urmarit din România.
Felicitari pentru activitate.Vad ca folositi inca, munca manuala si instrumente clasice.
Rigla pentru masurarea fantei,m-a impresionat mult.
Succes in activitate.
You Japanese are the gods of the world's craftsmen, no one in the world is as expert and experienced in technical work as you are. How much I would like to travel to Japan, but I have not yet, my greetings to the patient and hardworking people of Japan.🇮🇷🤝🇯🇵💚💙❤👑
Divino, que dedicação e perfeição.
Complimenti ottimo lavoro da maestri.
Bel video 👍👍💯💯💯💪
Japanese craftsmanship at its finest. A beautiful and elegant process and product. Thank you for sharing!
Wonderful proud work. Thanks from UK
Splendid college of artists.
Lots of skill trades we are watching here. Good job.
Beautiful workmanship...
A great video thanks for showing
Each of these wooden planes are actually a master piece on it's own. Excellent work by a master craftman.
I’m a woodworker, and he’s using tools I’ve never even seen before. His workmanship is amazing. Awesome work my friend!
The Japanese understand steel and hand cutting tools, whether they be knives, chisels, saws, whatever, they are well-thought out and work wonderfully as compared to western designs.
@@NigelTufnel612 They always amaze me, that’s for sure! Not to mention the fact that he produces one after another while sitting on the floor, and maintains his excellent workmanship never falters.
Incredible skill patience and ability 😊 Not an easy tool to master making.
Much respect 🙏 to all of you.
Even the processes it takes by machine and human is lengthy. I admire their patience and quiet spirits 😊
Truly amazing. I would love to be able to do this. I've been practicing for years on a single aspect of it, just getting the blade sharp, and I am nowhere near this amount of skill for just that one piece. This is truly an art form.
Absolutely love watching a master at work. Japanese craftmen, and women, are an art form.
lol show me a female Japanese blacksmith. all men for the past 2000 years

What can I say?
UNBELIEVABLE CRAFTSMANSHIP!
Can I purchase a plane?
Is there a local company I can order them from? Thank you
Even "perfection" is a small word for any product made in Japan. Next level accuracy.
It's always nice to see an old woodworker with 10 full fingers
The wooden suizan came out nice you did a good job on those details 😃✌️
Excellent creation
Some truly deadly looking machines but wonderful to watch this process.
Love watching these masters work they make it look so easy just shows the quality of there craftsmanship.
Stunning
That hotel carving machine is amazing.
72 year old sir looking dynamic and encouraging personality, great example to lazy youngsters, enjoy the video. Thank you🙏.
Awesome. Those toe socks are awesome too. 😂
Anti-cut socks lol
He pulled the plane across and the shaving came out like gossamer. Wonderful!👏👏👏
The skill of this master is commendable
Good luck
Nice video shot, thanks for sharing, like it :)
Very simple design but high performance.
이 분이 만드신 대패를 쓰고 있는데.. 반갑네요.. ^^:;
Amazing. A true artform. I love the giant chisels hogging out the throat, what wonderful precision. Great job!
impressive work. the process is much longer than i thought. the end is astonishing the peel is micro thin
They actually have competitions over there where they are judged on how thin and long a shaving they can make. This has a practical background though because wooden surfaces were all finished by hand before the advent of sandpaper. A planed surface has a better surface finish than a sanded one anyways.
@@trappenweisseguy27 They can adjust the same plane to remove more wood or less. Japanese handplanes are adjustable. As far as sandpaper or planed surface, it's not so much as what's better, as to what you want the final product to be. If you want to varnish or paint the surface. Sandpaper is better because it roughs up the surface allowing paint, glue, and varnish to stick to the surface. If you want a pure natural unpainted/unvarnished finish, then a planed surface is better because not only does it make it harder for things like paint to stick to it, it also makes it harder for water and moisture to absorb into the wood surface.

Great!!
What amazing craftsmen! Amazing how it looks to build something with quality over quantity.
At 12:01 I learned something. It's not drilling, it's a "hole making process". That changes everything and now I'm on my way. 🙂
Wow, would be awesome to see the original tools these craftsmen use to use, great job

Perfect workmanship! ❤️ ❤️
As usual...the perfection 👏👏👏
Wonderful work, love watching these people do such fine work.
Thank You for sharing.
Such beautiful items made with care and full attention without robots!!
That chisel/mortise machine @ 7:15 is fantastic!
Absolutely! And so too is the little planer at 13:45 that is used to plane the planers.......
Gostei, os japoneses estão de parabéns! Muito bom trabalho!
Wow...the end result says it all. Incredible craftsmanship. Thanks
A masterpiece!
Beautiful craftsmanship
Incredible work.
Very fantastic hard and soft and silky work.....❤
Amazing Craftsmanship!
Spettacolare!!! Siete davvero bravissimi. Complimenti
This cuts wood like butter 😮
Looks like a healthy work environment.
Beautiful to watch!
So great to watch!!
Absolutely breathtaking!
I love watching someone to work that is a master of his cafe
Outstanding accuracy, at the next level.👍👍
I lived in Nagaoka as an English instructor in 1994,5. If I'd only known!! I would have visited. Wonderful!
1:14 woah the precision and speed with which he operates that machine holy cow
He switches between full on blows when the piece is flat and lighter taps when he rotates it 90 degrees in like a quarter of a second!
Que perfeição de cipilho. Tem que ter muita prática e concentração. Parabéns aos profissionais.
Amazing respectful craftsmanship 🙏🏼❤️
wow nice job 👍
