Not only they cut each mirror into plenty of circle, but the size gradually change as it reach the top of the ball. Insane job...
I can honestly say I never even wondered how disco balls are made, yet I was totally mesmerised watching this. Very nice!
I'm always impressed how the Japanese people worked with pride and quality. It's simply amazing.
Dude... Shout out to handmade artisan disco balls. We love you, Japan!
I'll never look at them the same again. A lot of work goes into making them. Great video!
You have never seen a disco ball in your life and now you never will.
I was surprised at how much is done by hand true artistians/craftsmanship 👏👏 ❤❤
Zepp
difficult to watch someone wearing gloves so close to metal that could snag it on such a massive lathe!
And bending over it to turn it on
FRIDAY NIGHT essential 🕺🏻
Heck yeah! Keep the party rockin'! Thank you for making magic!
The amount of handcraft for making these mirrored balls is impressive! Beautiful work and the process was surprising. My favorite video of yours!
Nhà máy sản xuất cầu gương của Nhật Bản, Tuyệt vời. Người Nhật làm ăn như ý 🇯🇵👋.
Un grand merci pour la vidéo!
Wow, that there's so much craftsmanship in those!
que hermoso , saludos desde Argentina
Missed the interesting part with the internal motor.
Beautiful!💜
look how small his metal spinning lathe is!!! amazing! @#$
Lindo trabalho ! Abraço de Brasil 🇧🇷
Parabéns!!!
Belíssimo trabalho ❤
Fine craftsmanship! I had no idea these were handmade.
Japan is always No 1 .
They should have disco playing all the time in that shop.
Belíssimo trabalho parabéns pessoal 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Wow, they use metal spinning to make the two halves. I would have thought that using something like hydroforming was much more efficient both in terms of time and cost.
30 years too late . . .
A lathe is much cheaper than a high pressure setup. You'd need also a die for each diameter, parts like that are ridiculously expensive.
@@timtim8468 Makes sense, thanks.
Low volume production. Not worth the $100,000 plus for each die to be made for them to be pressed out. If you wanted cheap plastic vaccuum-formed bases then China or Thailand are where you'd be shopping.
It's the circles cutting that could be so much more cost effective if done by a CNC (or a similar process).
Japanese workers be thinking: "These Americans will buy ANYTHING!"
Beautiful work !!! 😳👍
That muzak…
Now I need one for my home. Or maybe three.
😂👍
Interesting that the drive motor is contained WITHIN the sphere itself. I would think that would pose a bit of an overheating issue. The Harry Potter-esque music makes it magical! Thanks for sharing!
Japan : the last remaining country on earth where things are done properly and well ! 🫶🏻
manufacturing automation has left the chat
Cool ! I have a fever now. ..🕺
interesting process. placing the mirror circles on the metal ball and then applying
the cement ,reminded me of doing a Mosaic art piece, with small ceramic tile squares.
did not realize that the Motor is inside of the ball. always thought it was up in an attic,
and the down-rod on the ball was attached to it, through a hole in the ceiling.
I have learned something here. thank you for an interesting video my friends in Japan 😀
Ya, I have a very cheap version, the globe is most likely just cardboard, and the mirrors are square and very crudely placed. The motors on mine are on the outside though, bilt into the hook mechanism. I actually had to replace one of the motors, thankfully its no big deal.
These mirror balls though are obviously top notch, and a work of art compared to mine. Although I've been using mine for over 30 years now, I didn't appreciate the labor involved in the cheap ones I owned, and how much more labor is involved in these works of art.
Excellent.
Such precision manufacturing and fit. Probably better engineered than Sputnik back in the day.
Very nice ball. love the metal internals and circular mirror. Cheap balls use polystyrene and square mirror, the shape of the reflected light's just aren't the same. 👍👍
Very cool thanks for sharing.
I loved this, it brings very nice memories from my teen age years in the late 80's. ❤
so beautiful
I love mirror balls. I like the idea of a circular mirror. Perhaps a surface first mirror would look sharper?
Using heat and water to heat shock the glass to get the circles easier vs after scribing the circles doing it by pliers
I wish I was a mirror ball, so when the world shines a light on me I shine in return
I am probably in the minority, but I think the square mirrors is preferable to the round ones...
Same
It's amazing how many of these cottage industries there are in Japan. Now that disco is over, I suppose there'd only be room for one manufacturer . . .
My guess is that karaoke bars probably buy most of what they produce.
well done , thats a quality product ,,, when the mirrors started to fall off my last 1m mirror ball as the glue dried out , it revealed a polystyrene globe of the world ,,, I wasnt impressed at all.
That is absolutely beautiful best Disco Ball 🪩 I’ve ever seen! Wow 💯 😮
❤❤❤
I am surprised that there are still companies that make these.
very cool!
What in the magical world of Harry Potter is this music 😂
👍
Probably 20 companies in China making them faster and at 1/3 the price.
Vaccuum-formed plastic spheres, with low grade plastic reflectors and cheap & poorly made electric motors inside - sure. They would be turning them out in the dozens, if not hundreds, for the same price. And they would be utter shite.
May they never go out of business
Definitely ordering several
I need one for my room now. I must have one 💃
they didn't show the motor that rotate the globe from the inside.
OMG. How can I buy one! The graduated circles! I have never seen one so beautiful!
Totally cool. I'm usually annoyed by these how it's built kind of videos that don't have narration, but you could figure out what was going on without the narration.
These are expensive disco balls. I see other cheaper disco balls still for sale so there are other manufacturer(s) still, probably in Mexico for instance!
Dancing close in a fairly dark smoke filled room with Frank Nagai crooning Tokyo naito kubaru with Matsuo Kazuko. Would absolutely need one of these to complete the atmosphere!
Anyway, mirror balls, being outstanding quality like these ones, or even cheap ones are highly underappreciated! Such a simple thing from a technical view, so played out in the 70's discos. But I bet slow dancing to Vera Lynn in a dance hall with one of these felt pretty amazing. But the beginning goes all the way back to 1917!
Watt iss loos?
These are quality mirror balls.
It’s a manufacturing factory!
In the US we use square pieces to literally fill in the whole thing
Very cool but I'm surprised they're not padded better in packaging.
I used to wonder why bugs attracted to lights, though recent finding might suggest it wasn't even attraction that caused it. Then us human, supposedly the smartest amongst living things are mesmerized with pika-pika things like this, lava lamp, diamond.. fascinating
