This was worth it, if for nothing else, to see Boss and Roscoe dancing around AND to see William Lee Golden again just before his beard reached the floor...
Ya, look at William Lee on the album cover (Have Arrived) of this song, he is actually clean shaven! And on the next album cover (Together) he has just a little stubble. Then came the beard... I think he looks much better without the beard, but obviously he disagrees.
Exactly, I remember going with my parents to grandparents house every Friday night watching the Dukes of Hazzard and having dinner 🍽!!! I miss the good old days 😢!!! Great band
I will be 51 in two weeks. I still remember that I couldn't wait for Friday night when The Dukes of Hazzard was on followed by Dallas. Those were the days
Rip Boss Hogg (Sorrell Booke 01-04-1930 to 02 11-1994) and Uncle Jesse (Denver Pyle 05-11-1920 to 12-25-1997) and the Balladeer (Waylon Jennings 06-15-1937 to 02-13-2002)!
April 29, 1943 - Duane Allen is born in Taylortown, Texas. In 1966, he joins The Oak Ridge Boys, who successfully convert 11 years later from gospel music to country, joining the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2015! Happy Birthday Duane!
I just saw the Oaks for a second time at Riverwind Casino in Norman, Oklahoma this past June. They can still belt that song out as good as they could when they were younger. I remember thus episode like it was yesterday
Wow, does this video take me back. I remember watching this show as a child with my grandparents. Combining one of the best country bands with one of the best television shows, it doesn’t get any better. How I miss those days. The crap on the radio isn’t worth listening to todayis the crap on TV worth watching.
What a great video!! I loved watching The Dukes of Hazard!! They always had a great act appear on the show. But what man could resist Daisy in her cut off jeans??
Rest in peace Joe Bonsall (Oak Ridge Boys), he looked like Lionel Ritchie in this clip. Duane Allen looks pretty much the same now as he did then, with a little less hair, William Lee Golden looks totally different with shorter hair and beard, Richard Sterban has longer hair these days.
Great clip!, never have seen this before but the best part is Garland Craft sitting at the piano. Craft was the keyboardist for Joe Bonsall and company when they were part of The Keystone Quartet, a group I saw several times on the southern gospel circuit in Maine, I considered Garland the best keyboardist for a gospel group I ever saw. He didn’t stay with Oaks for long and went back to gospel music, I saw him a few years later leading a group called Chariot.
Mary took to running with a travelin' man Left her momma crying with her head in her hands Such a sad case, so broken hearted She say, momma, I got to go, gotta get outta here I gotta get out of town, I'm tired of hanging around I gotta roll on between the ditches It's just an ordinary story 'bout the way things go 'Round and around nobody knows but the highway Goes on forever, that ol' highway rolls on forever. Lord, she never would've done it if she hadn't got drunk If she hadn't started running with a travelin' man If she hadn't started taking those crazy chances She say, daughter, let me tell you 'bout the travelin' kind Everywhere he's goin' such a very short time He'll be long gone before you know it He'll be long gone before you know it. She say, never have I known it when it felt so good Never have I knew it when I knew I could Never have I done it when it looked so right Leaving Louisiana in the broad daylight. This is down in the swampland, anything goes It's alligator bait and the bars don't close It's the real thing down in Louisiana Did you ever see a Cajun when he really got mad When he really got trouble like a daughter gone bad It gets real hot down in Louisiana The stranger better move it or he's gonna get killed He's gonna have to get it or a shotgun will It ain't no time for lengthy speeches There ain't no time for lengthy speeches. She say, never have I known it when it felt so good Never have I knew it when I knew I could Never have I done it when it looked so right Leaving Louisiana in the broad daylight It's just an ordinary story
Clint Taylor On top of that, the Oak Ridge Boys are probably one of the best acts I have seen live. They sound just as good in person as they do on record. Really a great band to see.
Best track they ever done was "Gimme that ol' time lovin" It was on Dukes of Hazard and it was so cool, I've looked for it ever since, and never been able to find it in any other media If we can get it available I some way other than obscure youtube clips, that would be great 👍
Irony : The only other show I've seen where there have been huge guest bands on was Smallville which had Lex Luthor paying to have Lifehouse play at the high school dance. Who played Clark Kent's dad? John Schnieder aka Bo Duke. Who also had several charting country hits.
I think that is very true about what Waylon Jennings said about Hank Williams and the people of Hazzard wanting to keep him there. I think that if Hank Williams had been around to be on the Dukes of Hazzard it would definitely be a golden moment in history
Piano player is not Rusty Golden although there is a resemblance. Garland Craft was the keyboard player for the early Oaks and is in this video as well.
One of the best things about this video. Admission is free, but beer is $5 a glass. Never change JD Hogg.
😂😂
Hell that’s cheap beer these days, lol!
@@chadvargo7822Try getting beer 🍺 that cheap at a ML baseball game.
Timeless classic stuff! If only TV and music were this good like back in the day.
The Dukes of Hazzard is one of the best shows that was ever made
Catherine Bach still resides in my dreams.
Just seen the Oak Ridge Boys last night, these guys are in their mid 70's and early 80's now. Wow, what a band.
Oh how I'd give anything to go back to those days. Times were a lot simpler and music seemed to have a meaning.
Kevin Foster MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN DAMN IT!
Meaning....and real talent
They were simpler but they were hard times too.
what an absolute retarded sentiment
100%, music was simpler and TV as well. Love the show, Love the band.
This was worth it, if for nothing else, to see Boss and Roscoe dancing around AND to see William Lee Golden again just before his beard reached the floor...
Bos and Roscoe's antics during the speed trap songs were hilarious
I got a kick out of them dancing too!
Ya, look at William Lee on the album cover (Have Arrived) of this song, he is actually clean shaven! And on the next album cover (Together) he has just a little stubble. Then came the beard... I think he looks much better without the beard, but obviously he disagrees.
An amazing time to have been alive. These really were good old days.
People don’t realize how great the late 70’s and 80’s were.
Roscoe was truly "One of a kind".. Hard to come by and impossible to replace. Rest in peace.. You made so many smile..!
so funny
James Best...
Was one of the BEST.
Boss Hog n Roscoe together forever...R.I.P.
@@MrRockzilla86 I don't know if you're aware of it (you probably are) but James Best made a guest appearance on The Andy Griffith Show as Jim Lindsey.
@@kevinmiller6380 Mr. Lindsey sure could play that guitar
Rosco
These guys still put on great shows, despite being in their mid 70's to early 80's. R. I. P. Joe.
I love the JD Hogg and Rosco dance ;-)
Tom Wopat (Luke) and Ben Jones (Cooter) were really getting into the music. This is one of my favorite Oak Ridge songs.
Ha, the Oak Ridge Boys and the Duke of Hazard together. Can't get much better than that. My cousin is their travel coordinator.
Best show. A lot of good actors. And general Lee. 01
Love this music I wish they would bring real country music back
Absolute master piece in Hazzard County
I do really appreciate a good harmonizing group. No one does this any more.
Awesome piece of my childhood if I could go back it would be this Friday when it aired
Exactly, I remember going with my parents to grandparents house every Friday night watching the Dukes of Hazzard and having dinner 🍽!!! I miss the good old days 😢!!! Great band
My favorite Dukes episode and favorite Oak Ridge Boys song!
Dam I was born in 1978 but I remember this episode lol dam I feel old now and I'm only 42
I will be 51 in two weeks. I still remember that I couldn't wait for Friday night when The Dukes of Hazzard was on followed by Dallas. Those were the days
Long live the Oaks! Is this not one of the best country songs, ever?
and Daisy looks prettier than ever
Oaks are amongst the best in country and gospel music

Go Boss Hog!!!!!!!!!!!!! God I love those days! Always great to see the good ole boys being good ole boys!!!! Oak Ridge forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I like how the balladeer says "You know I bet if ol' Hank Williams got caught in Hazard County They'd never let him leave".
And they are STILL AWESOME!!!!!!!

Bill Golden... The Pride of Brewton, Alabama !! Awesome !!
I remember watching this, I was 4 years old.
How can you not love this !!!
I wish this really happened and I was really there. Man. Love the simplicity and atmosphere
I still Watch Hazzard now After 40 Years .it s interesting see Boss and Rosco enjoying and dancing every time during a boars nest concerto.....rip
I just saw the Oaks for a second time at Riverwind Casino in Norman, Oklahoma this past June. They can still belt that song out as good as they could when they were younger. I remember thus episode like it was yesterday
I'm suddenly finding myself in the need of some "bar popcorn" and a cold beer!
I've seen the Oakridge Boy's in concert in Dayton Ohio. Plus I've been to Louisiana a few times.

Good old times
This was the fun America! Sad where we are now.
There was a lot of problems back then too. A lot of hatred, but the music was good.
A dream tour would be the combination of Little Big Town, The Statler Brothers, and The Oak Ridge Boys.
