Thank you brother! I am a Gulf, and then signed back up in 07. I am also a Iraq war veteran. I am diagnosed with PTSD, bipolar depression, and anxiety. I want to stay strong and as I try everyday.
"This is normal" should not be normal. Whatever dark roads your war demons have led you down, TV, I'm glad you're still here. Thank you for your service, and thank you for still being here, man. Please accept this internet hug, sir.
Videos about the damage war does, helps the rest of us who haven't served to understand. Be at peace young man and all the surviving veterans and there families
Hey Tormented, there is nothing I can say to you that will make you feel better and I know that. I am going to send my love and prayers to you as well as ALL your brothers and sisters who fought for me/us. I do truly appreciate it and I wish our government did better by you all. I have loved several veterans, RIP 1986-Grandfather (WWll), RIP 2019-my former husband (Desert Storm), Jimmy (Viet Nam), and my "brother" (Desert Storm) Peace and love to you all.
Brother, been to a couple of veteran cemeteries and each one breaks me. Could have gone to Arlington a couple of times but don't know if I can handle it. I know in the past I wouldn't have been able to. Much respect and appreciation for getting this video out. This time of year too... Memorial Day is coming fast.
My brother just broke. 30 years Air Force (Australia) with 3 tours in the sandpit. He's spent the last month in a locked ward. War affects everybody involved, one way or another. You're doing a great thing here.
Thank you for your service and continued service to veterans. One thing you said at the end sticks out to me because it’s important for veterans to hear and know “It’s OK NOT to be OK” You are 100% correct. It’s ok not to be ok and to reach out for help. Thank you for continuing your service to veterans in this way. I’m convinced you helped a lot of them by doing what you are doing right here. ❤
the first time i heard the song, i thought that it was a great cover of the Offspring original. but then, i saw the video and it really hit hard. i totally understand what you're going through. 26 years USMC, two tours in Iraq, two in AFG, saw combat all four times, lost some people i know.
Just helped my son with his essay for school. It's on the tanks used in World War 2. He's 15, a huge military war buff and is considering a career designing tracked and wheeled vehicles for the military. He's also considering being a high school history teacher because he believes that kids need to be better educated on our military.
My heart goes out to you and all the veterans in our country!!!! Tormented, we are here for you and know my heart is with you, you have my prayers, much love and appreciation from Kentucky ❤️🙏❤️🇺🇸
thank you so much for your service sir, I will be keeping you in my prayers. Your sacrafice and every thing you have done for the US will never go un noticed. You sir have done what some people cant even think of. You joined the military and you you gave your 110%. I cant thank you enough! I love that you reacted to this, it has such a deap meaning and it was hard for me to watch this, I am 100% here if you need a person to talk to.
Thank you for your service! Truley appreciate your sacrafice and all of our veterans sacrafoce. Five Finger Death Punch is an amazing band that really acknowledges the military and first responders who sacrifice for this country. All of their videos are this amazing! 🙏
It has been along time coming... but I finally made it through your reaction to this video. This is far from my first time hearing this song, seeing the video or watching a reaction to it. It's never an easy one especially when someone who gets it is doing the reaction. Thank you and god bless you
as a disabled combat vet, I have realized that no one really cares to listen. People will change posture, change the subject or just avoid you. I have figured out it is best not to talk to anyone. I have lost brothers and I still see them in crowds. I cant go back in, I originally went in in 89 and got medically discharged in 95 for combat related wounds, then back in in 2008 and medically discharged for combat related injuries in 2009 (IED). I am 90% disabled now and if not for my daughters I would not be here today. I still fight, often, for another day. So far I have won but I have come to accept that one day I wont win. It is just lifef
Joe I care (former navy vet) for all that have come home disabled and those that have died with no one to care for them or clean off their headstone. We all deserve the respect of congress, those that are still with us and those that benefit from our sacrifice. Hang in there.
I was in EOD training at Eglin AFB when my brother was killed by an IED and because of that I never deployed cause I was a sole “surviving son” in my family, last to be able to pass on my name. Please speak up my Battles. I love you all
I was at Fort Eustis in my final week of AIT when 9/11 happened. After coming home from my last deployment, I wanted to go back, but “too soon” turned into “too old.” (Not in so many words, but the meaning was clear.) I’m 43, but I would still re-enlist even now, if they’d let me, for the same exact reasons I had when I first joined at 19. These vids definitely hit hard, but the awareness on these issues that FFDP is putting out there is a good thing.
In December of '01 into '02 we were welding steel plates to the bottom of the HUMVs before shipping to theater do to the IEDs. "I've been there." We all have brother and will continue to struggle. For me it was curled in the bath tub with my Sig and a pillow behind my head so there wasn't a huge mess. We do almost anything to get through the complex feelings and thoughts.

Thank you for your openness and insight , brother. Having also served overseas, though as an aerial asset, and working with you guys on the ground, it gives me a deeper appreciation for everything that y’all do. Thank you for all you’ve done and for your service. Much love and appreciation.
I served 25 years in the U.S Army tours of Beirut, Kuwait, Africa, Iraq 3 times, Afghanistan 2 times as an 89D, for those of you who do not know what an 89D is I was EOD in all of them places. This is very real the PTSD, i have been there and did exactly what this guy did went back hoping I would either die or forget, neither happened, im with you brothers and sisters
Thats a hell of an mos it looks like. Extremley hard to achieve, and 0 room for error. Good at what you do. Ive heard it doesnt sit well with vets sometimes when a civ says thanks, i dont want to be viewed like that. I just wish I could convey to you more. A nod of the head, a heavy heart, and tears for my countries brave guys I never met. That much is real. Something i hope transcends the gap from civ to soldier. 🙏 You'll be in my prayers.
First, I know it’s unlikely you will read this but thank you for your service and I hope you are doing okay. Second, the lead singer was actually in the marines and has seen combat.
Thank you for your support. While Ivan Moody is a very strong supporter of our military, he himself has never served in the military. Neither has any other members of the band.
I'm not a veteran but I live with survivors guilt everyday for the last eleven years. I lost my brother in a drowning accident, on May 5th, 2012 my aunt took my family to Bonham state Park in Texas. My dad wanted to go for a swim so he went the dress rooms to get changed. Me and my brother were already in our swim trunks and we wanted to throw the football while wading in the shallows due to us not being strong swimmers and him being mentally challenged we thought we were safe, that was until he hit a sudden drop off. I tried save him but I couldn't get a hold of him since he panicked and then he was gone. Divers found him an hour later. I can still hear my mom's screams for her baby boy. It should of been me, had i not got the bright idea to go in water he'd still be here.
Thank you for your story. I really hate to hear that you had to go through this and I'm very sorry for the loss of your brother. Just remember my friend you were young and a kid just trying to play as any other kid would. One of the first things you should learn to understand is that it's not your fault. I know that will be hard to process but it's the truth. Much love my friend.
stay strong brother. im glad that my brother is not in the army anymore because of health reason but i have a lot of Nightmares about him and me and all that shit but stay strong brother im not an amarican but that is not important. stay strong Brother.
You are appreciated, good sir... I don't have the slightest clue on what you and your brothers and sisters have gone through, but know that there are people out there that TRULEY admire you and your service... much love and respect
Sir I've never been in the military and probably never will be. I can't ever claim to truly understand how you feel, but I want you to know I appreciate what you've been through. Thank you for your service from the bottom of my heart.
This affects veterans and law enforcement personnel the same. My wife and I plan on going to Arlington and Gettysburg November 2025. I will be up there for the Marine Corps 250th birthday.
My dad is a Veteran. He was in Desert Storm in the 90's (He was one of the guys doing maintenance on the jets on one of the carriers). He never experienced combat, but he still had to take some time to get his head straight after.
I know what I was doing on 911. I had two hammer drills on my hand. I had brain trauma that kept me from another enlightenment so I walked off my job the next morning and got hired by the sheriffs department. When they told me that the background may take a few weeks. I told them they would get it back tomorrow. I was military with top secret clearance, federal and state investigations. My wife and I I mentioned that because of my past there’s no way I couldn’t . All agencies have my prints, photo, and dna. If nothing else in my corpse has not destroyed, some of us (USMC) have called called a USDA stamp meat tag tattoo on my torso
When my daughter was stationed at Miramar, her next door neighbor unalived himself, shortly after he returned from the sandbox. She was the first one in. Her t1 ball bouncing, fish eating hubby was stateside and staying with her & tried to keep her out - as he has seen it before. She still has nightmares.
Brother, ur take on this video is perfect. Ur inflection, delivery, cadence, EVERYTHING was 110%! I want you to know that I give 0 phux what time of day it is, please call me if ur in a not good head space. I'm down like a fat kid on a seesaw to hang out on a phone call, video chat or whatever. Ur right. This video hits u in the feels. It hits hard, fast, vicious & relentless. But in many ways, it's cathartic. 4u or any of those that follow u Brother, if ur not in a good place, reach out. In closing I'd like to day that I'm honored & proud to call you my Brother. CareTaker 45-4 CVMA. Love ya Brother.
I know there's not really anything I can say that will help you, but I wanted to tell you how much I appreciated your reaction and that my heart grieves for all we've lost and the fact that our country doesn't do right by our vets. I hope you're hanging in there and that you really are okay. ♥
Appreciate you service and thank you sir and all members of five finger death punch are all veterans them selves which makes these songs and videos hit harder
Im not a vet, they rejected me because of my knees but after 911 3 of us from the ponderosa I worked at went up together to sign up, like i said they rejected me and im the only one left alive. 20 yrs on or so in a heart beat id trade places with my friends. Bigs was this super tall goofy mf that always made people laugh and brooks was the kinda person who would help you build a house .
There may be a few more reaction videos but not many more with music. They tend to end up with copyright claims and get demonetized. Not so great for the channel.
one thing five finger all served in the miltary its why their songs are always so miltary focused because its what they did and they love sharing their stories from that time and wrong side of heaven is still my all time favorite song by them
Unfortunately this topic has come up many times and because of that I did the research needed and none of the band members ever served. Though they are huge supporters of the military as can be seen by their actions and music
@@TormentedVet_Reactions strange because ive seen a interview with the lead singer and he said they all did so odd anyway ill take your word for it but they definitly nailed on the head the point they were trying to make with this song as someone who has had many serve i know what they talk about way to well anyway thank you for your service your a true american warrior and for that i thank you
Thank you to you as well as to all men and women who put their lives in harm's way so this country can always remain a free nation. Five Finger Death Punch has always supported our troops (in fact I heard that a lot of their proceeds go to help organizations for helping vets and that they never charge veterans for their concerts). If you'd like to check it out, I'll leave a link to another FFDP song/music video that is also military-oriented and also has a very powerful message (Be forewarned you will need something to wipe your eyes with as you watch it). th-cam.com/video/o_l4Ab5FRwM/w-d-xo.html
As you might have noticed it was hard to not need something for a wipe in this one. I will probably do a video on the one you suggested. Since it’s been suggested more than once now.
Aussie here, did a party tour over in the states from LA to NY. Via the south. In winter. Had too much fun and blew my knee out in North Carolina, next stop was Arlington to see JFK's grave and also the tomb of the unknown soldier. I'm a fucken idiot Australian so in the dead of Winter I wore a singlet, shorts and flip flops, and with the help of crutches I made sure I got all the way to the top. If I'm completely honest though I wasn't aware how long that trek was up to the top, but at that point I committed so we did the damn thing. Special place.
I am not a vet (my dad was)... but I think that anybody who is a decent human being won't be able to watch this without feeling the punches. I've watched a number of reactions to FFDP's Gone Away but the reaction hits so much harder when it's from somebody who has really "been there". And I appreciate your commentary about the details. Thanks for doing such a great reaction and thank you for your service.
My wife is a 1 time combat vet and 2 time deployed. Getting ready for her 3rd. This video hurts every time I see it, for her. I've advised her not to watch it.
Tormented, just want you to know we fellow vets have your six brother. Let the memories flow. As much as they hurt, I, myself never want to forget them. They are who we are. (C/1/7 1st Cav., Mos 31V) Served at the end of 'Nam.
This vid really gets to me so I try to avoid it. I spent the better part of my tour in 05 doing convoy secfor. Thankfully nobody died (there, after we got home is a different story) but we did take wounded. I did lose a bro due to a sniper. (Same tour, different units) This vid is all to accurate of what many go through after they come home and trying to deal with things. Been 16.5 years since I physically came home and I'm still trying to put it where it belongs. (And yes, I've been to counseling etc) Keep fighting the good fight brother. Some day we'll beat these demons.
Thank you for your service. A few friends served they weren't ok for a while. They still have their demons ,but not gone. I wanted to serve so bad, denied for medical tried every branch.
The original version by The Offspring that came out back in I think 1997, I remember literally just sobbing when I first heard it. Couldn't stop. I'd lost a number of very close friends in quite a short period of time just prior to hearing but just hadn't taken the time to really grieve. The song just broke the dam I guess. Then 20 years later the Five Finger Death Punch cover came out. No less powerful. They did The Offspring's lyrics a lot of justice.
I felt this deeply! We can NEVER thank our vets enough for their sacrifices but we CAN do right by them when they come back home 🏡! Please everyone, show some love and appreciation for what they've done for all of us! Not just today, tomorrow, and next week...but everyday that you're able to enjoy your life here at home,...remember who bought you that gift of freedom! These men and women did!...Some with their own blood! Thank you so so much to our vets. We love you!
Hey. If you haven't seen the video for Wrong side of heaven. Watch it. I'm not requesting that you do a reaction to it. Just think you should see it if you haven't.
Im a dumbass who doesn't know anything. I'm lucky to have not gone through this. I'm just so fucking sorry you all have gone through this shit. War is just fathers burying their sons.
Thank you for your service! Even if you heard that 10X a day every day it would never be enough. I know I can't take away your pain, all I can do is a virtual hug. Please know that you matter to the world and those around you. Thanks for the reviews and God Bless you! Take care of you!
Seen guys come back, but not fully come back. They leave a part of themselves over there and can't handle normal life anymore, they need to be in the heat and it hurts to see and not be able to say anything.
about arlington for the ones that live in the uk if your not aware the royal Arboretum just outside birmingham stafordshire i recomend you visit also i have been there personaly with cadets and its a beautiful place and ill be honest when i went there it didnt hit as hard as it should have but im happy that i showed respect as it was sureal to experience such a beautiful sight
you should listen to blue on black it is a song based on the notion that if blue and black were mixed together, they would blend into one color, with black being dominant. Due to the generally negative terminology used throughout, many people have interpreted this song as being about a dysfunctional relationship, abuse or even death.
The survivors remorse/guilt is real! My best friend was deployed to Afghanistan as a Marine, and her unit was struck by a roadside bomb(her words). Without saying as much, it’s been implied she was the only survivor in her unit. Her PTSD can be off the charts. When she shared this video with me several years ago, just before Memorial Day, and how she absolutely hates it; it gave me a glimpse of what she endured. Thankfully, through some friends of mine who breed, and train service dogs, I was able to procure a service dog for her-put about 5k of my own money to make it happen. And I would do it again I a skinny second. Sure, she still has her issues/nightmares, etc, but it’s already made a world of difference. I’m grateful she trusted enough in me to share her nightmare, and I’ve helped make a positive impact in her quality of life.
Not an army person here. Yet, the swelling in my throat, the tears, the sadness, they are all here still. I want to cry so damn much. Why? I haven't experienced what you all went through. I don't have the slightest clue. I'm just a geek working in IT. I don't even know how to complete this comment, there's no understanding I can share, I don't know what and who to be thankful for and to without it sounding hypocritical to myself, I'm just... Lost. In this sadness that has nowhere to go. And I just wish for useless wars to end.
For me I wad a Sargent and had a soilder who was in a bad relationship and decided to end it by shooting himself in the head and haven't to see him in a respirator for 5 days till they pulled his plug then my why had to be intubated 2 times and then I knew I had ptsd and the army said I didn't have it and the va tell me I did and give me the help I needed. This song hit me so hard and couldn't liston to it for the longest time till I got the help I needed.
that "this is normal" hit way too hard
OEF and OIF vet. Survivors remorse took me 12 years to get to a point where I could face it and function again. Thank you for your honesty brother.

Brother your words are very well received. And thank you. DP 23-11 love ya too brother!
Thanks for your service brother and i will vist that cemetery oneday 💯💪
Thank you and I promise you won't regret it!
Please take care of yourself Thank you for your service!
Thank you for your support. I definitely try. Some days are better than others.
@@TormentedVet_Reactions Yw! Are you on medication?
@@Alwaysherethere I am not... I've made it a point to try and avoid medication
@@TormentedVet_Reactions meds are a relief for me
@@Alwaysherethere I can’t live my life dependent on medicine. However, I have found good therapeutic release being in the gym.
Thank you for your service. Our vets are our American pride. Thank you so much.
12:26 Why do they pick someone who can't throw a football too throw one in a video every.single.time.
I know there's not really anything I can say that will help you, but I wanted to tell you how much I appreciated your reaction and that my heart grieves for all we've lost and the fact that our country doesn't do right by our vets. I hope you're hanging in there and that you really are okay. ♥
The fact that you took the time to say anything at all speaks volumes! Thank you!
thank you for your service!
Thank you very much for your support!!!
Appreciate you service and thank you sir and all members of five finger death punch are all veterans them selves which makes these songs and videos hit harder
I'm sorry to disappoint my friend but none of the members of FFDP are veterans. However, they are very strong supporters of the military.
Hey man, i was there in 2003. I know we weren't prepared.
Brother I feel ya. Stay strong Stay safe. Amen brother
Great reaction. You should do more
There may be a few more reaction videos but not many more with music.
@@TormentedVet_Reactions strange because ive seen a interview with the lead singer and he said they all did so odd anyway ill take your word for it but they definitly nailed on the head the point they were trying to make with this song as someone who has had many serve i know what they talk about way to well
anyway thank you for your service your a true american warrior and for that i thank you
@nascarandrew you got a link for that interview?
@nascarandrew one thing I understand that they do is speak with vets in the making of some of their songs
@@TormentedVet_Reactionsunfourtantley no i dont
Thank you for your service to our country!
I am a combat veteran. I went over there twice and to Afghanistan once. Ive seen some shit, and i want to interned in Arlington.
This video has always gutted me! Love ya - SMOOCHES
I feel like I'm so late to the game on this video but so glad I found it.
It hurts brother. . . to lose a brother. 06-07
Thank you for your service Brother.

Thank you so much for the kind words and the support!

I take my pocket with change everytime
My wife is a 1 time combat vet and 2 time deployed. Getting ready for her 3rd. This video hurts every time I see it, for her. I've advised her not to watch it.
I miss that “we’re gonna try it anyway face” love ya brotha hope all is well.
Thank you! And no worries it will always be there… Love ya too brother!
Tormented, just want you to know we fellow vets have your six brother. Let the memories flow. As much as they hurt, I, myself never want to forget them. They are who we are.
(C/1/7 1st Cav., Mos 31V) Served at the end of 'Nam.
Thank you brother!!!
They will never understand. I've stopped trying to explain. Fugg em. Keep going brother. Believe me I'm never going to be ok.
Aw your a vet! Damn im ex Army myself in the UK
Thanks for your service and for protecting us
Well there is one place, called Mamaev Kurgan
I will definitely give it a look.
Definitely dude. It is rough but so well done and the very end is the most important!
Thank you for the love and support it means more than you know!!!
If not me then who, if not now then when.
I get reminded of my friend in the last section of the song, after suffering from Survivors Guilt he reenlisted in hopes to be sent to die. RIP
Some of the members of this band served…
After researching it, turns out none of them did.
@@TormentedVet_Reactions oh there was one at least, maybe not with the band anymore
Trying to be better next time we survived
I still struggle with it but I was saved by a civilian buddy who got through to me
stay strong brother
Original offspring track is much more personal.
Never forget.
Never will!
FFDP did another video called wrong side of heaven that you should watch. Warning its heart breaking.
Here you are!

Thank you for your service and sacrifices. Thank you for the freedoms that we have as Americans. May God bless and keep you safe.
Thank you for your support!!!

I try to get to Arlington on a yearly basis because my grandfather is interred there.
