Hey Tormented, there is nothing I can say to you that will make you feel better and I know that. I am going to send my love and prayers to you as well as ALL your brothers and sisters who fought for me/us. I do truly appreciate it and I wish our government did better by you all. I have loved several veterans, RIP 1986-Grandfather (WWll), RIP 2019-my former husband (Desert Storm), Jimmy (Viet Nam), and my "brother" (Desert Storm) Peace and love to you all.

Brother, been to a couple of veteran cemeteries and each one breaks me. Could have gone to Arlington a couple of times but don't know if I can handle it. I know in the past I wouldn't have been able to. Much respect and appreciation for getting this video out. This time of year too... Memorial Day is coming fast.

War affects everybody involved, one way or another. You're doing a great thing here.

Thank you for your service and continued service to veterans. One thing you said at the end sticks out to me because it’s important for veterans to hear and know
“It’s OK NOT to be OK”
You are 100% correct. It’s ok not to be ok and to reach out for help.
Thank you for continuing your service to veterans in this way. I’m convinced you helped a lot of them by doing what you are doing right here. ❤

Just helped my son with his essay for school. It's on the tanks used in World War 2. He's 15, a huge military war buff and is considering a career designing tracked and wheeled vehicles for the military. He's also considering being a high school history teacher because he believes that kids need to be better educated on our military.

as a disabled combat vet, I have realized that no one really cares to listen. People will change posture, change the subject or just avoid you. I have figured out it is best not to talk to anyone.
I have lost brothers and I still see them in crowds. I cant go back in, I originally went in in 89 and got medically discharged in 95 for combat related wounds, then back in in 2008 and medically discharged for combat related injuries in 2009 (IED). I am 90% disabled now and if not for my daughters I would not be here today. I still fight, often, for another day. So far I have won but I have come to accept that one day I wont win. It is just lifef

I was at Fort Eustis in my final week of AIT when 9/11 happened. After coming home from my last deployment, I wanted to go back, but “too soon” turned into “too old.” (Not in so many words, but the meaning was clear.) I’m 43, but I would still re-enlist even now, if they’d let me, for the same exact reasons I had when I first joined at 19. These vids definitely hit hard, but the awareness on these issues that FFDP is putting out there is a good thing.

Ive heard it doesnt sit well with vets sometimes when a civ says thanks, i dont want to be viewed like that. I just wish I could convey to you more. A nod of the head, a heavy heart, and tears for my countries brave guys I never met. That much is real. Something i hope transcends the gap from civ to soldier. 🙏 You'll be in my prayers.

I'm not a veteran but I live with survivors guilt everyday for the last eleven years. I lost my brother in a drowning accident, on May 5th, 2012 my aunt took my family to Bonham state Park in Texas. My dad wanted to go for a swim so he went the dress rooms to get changed. Me and my brother were already in our swim trunks and we wanted to throw the football while wading in the shallows due to us not being strong swimmers and him being mentally challenged we thought we were safe, that was until he hit a sudden drop off. I tried save him but I couldn't get a hold of him since he panicked and then he was gone. Divers found him an hour later. I can still hear my mom's screams for her baby boy. It should of been me, had i not got the bright idea to go in water he'd still be here.

I know what I was doing on 911. I had two hammer drills on my hand. I had brain trauma that kept me from another enlightenment so I walked off my job the next morning and got hired by the sheriffs department. When they told me that the background may take a few weeks. I told them they would get it back tomorrow. I was military with top secret clearance, federal and state investigations. My wife and I I mentioned that because of my past there’s no way I couldn’t . All agencies have my prints, photo, and dna. If nothing else in my corpse has not destroyed, some of us (USMC) have called called a USDA stamp meat tag tattoo on my torso

Aussie here, did a party tour over in the states from LA to NY. Via the south. In winter. Had too much fun and blew my knee out in North Carolina, next stop was Arlington to see JFK's grave and also the tomb of the unknown soldier. I'm a fucken idiot Australian so in the dead of Winter I wore a singlet, shorts and flip flops, and with the help of crutches I made sure I got all the way to the top. If I'm completely honest though I wasn't aware how long that trek was up to the top, but at that point I committed so we did the damn thing. Special place.

This vid really gets to me so I try to avoid it. I spent the better part of my tour in 05 doing convoy secfor. Thankfully nobody died (there, after we got home is a different story) but we did take wounded. I did lose a bro due to a sniper. (Same tour, different units) This vid is all to accurate of what many go through after they come home and trying to deal with things. Been 16.5 years since I physically came home and I'm still trying to put it where it belongs. (And yes, I've been to counseling etc) Keep fighting the good fight brother. Some day we'll beat these demons.

The original version by The Offspring that came out back in I think 1997, I remember literally just sobbing when I first heard it. Couldn't stop. I'd lost a number of very close friends in quite a short period of time just prior to hearing but just hadn't taken the time to really grieve. The song just broke the dam I guess. Then 20 years later the Five Finger Death Punch cover came out. No less powerful. They did The Offspring's lyrics a lot of justice.

I felt this deeply! We can NEVER thank our vets enough for their sacrifices but we CAN do right by them when they come back home 🏡! Please everyone, show some love and appreciation for what they've done for all of us! Not just today, tomorrow, and next week...but everyday that you're able to enjoy your life here at home,...remember who bought you that gift of freedom! These men and women did!...Some with their own blood!
Thank you so so much to our vets. We love you!

Seen guys come back, but not fully come back. They leave a part of themselves over there and can't handle normal life anymore, they need to be in the heat and it hurts to see and not be able to say anything.

you should listen to blue on black it is a song based on the notion that if blue and black were mixed together, they would blend into one color, with black being dominant. Due to the generally negative terminology used throughout, many people have interpreted this song as being about a dysfunctional relationship, abuse or even death.

The survivors remorse/guilt is real! My best friend was deployed to Afghanistan as a Marine, and her unit was struck by a roadside bomb(her words). Without saying as much, it’s been implied she was the only survivor in her unit. Her PTSD can be off the charts. When she shared this video with me several years ago, just before Memorial Day, and how she absolutely hates it; it gave me a glimpse of what she endured. Thankfully, through some friends of mine who breed, and train service dogs, I was able to procure a service dog for her-put about 5k of my own money to make it happen. And I would do it again I a skinny second. Sure, she still has her issues/nightmares, etc, but it’s already made a world of difference. I’m grateful she trusted enough in me to share her nightmare, and I’ve helped make a positive impact in her quality of life.

Not an army person here. Yet, the swelling in my throat, the tears, the sadness, they are all here still. I want to cry so damn much. Why? I haven't experienced what you all went through. I don't have the slightest clue. I'm just a geek working in IT. I don't even know how to complete this comment, there's no understanding I can share, I don't know what and who to be thankful for and to without it sounding hypocritical to myself, I'm just... Lost. In this sadness that has nowhere to go. And I just wish for useless wars to end.
