it's amazing how disney can take a serious topic as human reproduction and turn into a fun comedic and educational adventure that kids of all ages could understand.
Vividly remember seeing this as a kid in Epcot, one of the older kids I was with couldn't stop laughing when the two adults were banging and I didn't understand why. Going back to it now, the camera panning up as he is just sitting on the roof without a care in the world is pretty amusing.
This always makes me cry, for some reason. Something about him being there the whole time...something about it is really bittersweet and melancholy, as if he's dead in the present. Some of the stuff, I don't even know WHY it gets to me. It's all awesome, though.
@@MuppetHell I don’t mean that I think Martin Short OR his character actually IS dead in the present! I mean it has that kind of feeling, like his character is a ghost looking over his life or something.
Kid: Hey mommy where do babies come from Mom: pack your bags were going to disney Kid: . . . Mom: This show will talk to you how babies are made Kid: Wth did I just watch
I think that was adorable and I have to agree with Michael Warbux. People take the fun out of everything and life was way better in the 70's, 80's and 90's. But after the 90's everything is going to crap quickly and they would have taken the fun out of this adorable none sickening show. But I missed out on the whole life center of this fun park and I keep missing all the good rides. I can not seem to get money to go so I get to see everything leave to never come back and that's it for me but I am so glade that people like this person was so kind to record it so that way I can see it and be able to see what the rides and fun movies was about. SO to you all who do this stuff for a living I want to say Thank you. IF it wasn't for you guys I would still be in the dark about Buzzy and all the other rides that have been shut down. SO thank you so very much.
As this was possibly produced after 1985, I'm going to say a big yes to that! Actually when I was filming this back when, I quite amazingly had the same thought.
The filming was all done in mid-1989 while it premiered in November of that year, I'm gonna say it was an inspiration to the movie's plot. Some scenes look like direct copies from BTTF too, I never noticed until I just rewatched it though.
I think this is a very educational and fun film. Would it be shown in Disney parks today? Definitely not, for a variety of reasons. But still, I found it fascinating how they were able to realistically explain child birth without ever mentioning what a penis, vagina, semen, etc. was. I could see the animated sperm segment getting cut- but outside of that I gotta say I admire how down to earth it was without being super inappropriate for children or even explaining sex- just the biology behind it.
I saw this over 20 years ago and never since. I thought about it once in a while. It was a little awkward but I can appreciate the work and imagination that went into it. Spermatozoa always grosses me out a little (more than the concept of semen does) but I always remembered that ovum having major sex appeal.
The Making Of Me is better than other religious or secular presentations on this topic. It is proper without being boring; fun and normal at the right time without being enticing.
Is this real or is this a dream. But this was a very good remastered video of my favorite film of all time. I know what your thinking this is going to sound crazy but can I order this as a dvd.
Of all the attractions at the Wonders of Life, this was my 2nd favorite after Cranium Command. Only rode Body Wars once and never rode it again because it was the only simulator ride I felt a little sick when I got off. Cranium Command had a more realistic love scene with the the boy (Bobby) falling in love with the girl (Annie) when he first meets her, and she with him after he defends her from some bullies, though him asking her out and she kissing him that same day was unrealistic. But the way they had the parents meeting and falling in love in the Making of Me is ridiculous. While it is possible to fall in love with someone when you first see them while dating someone else, there is no way they would push their dates back like that without the dates complaining or starting a fight. I know Disney is trying to make it family friendly and funny, but at least it should have looked more realistic, like having the mother having all these guys asking her to the dance and she spots dad who is looking sad because he was rejected by another girl or have them accidentally meet each other by bumping into each other in the hallway.
If this were around today, you know these crazy, psycho, social justice warriors would find this offensive and demand an immediate shut down of this attraction. EPCOT needs to get back to doing these kinds of things. Hopefully they will one day.
agreed. don't know why every group that would complain about something is labeled 'sjw'... especially when actual progressive people would embrace this kind of subject matter being safely taught to kids.
You did forget about the Feminist that would scream..... This is for dirty sweaty pig males that come here for their enjoyment and that they should DIE in a fire.
Nothing really replaced this movie but when Disney uses the Wonders of Life pavilion for their festivals they sometimes play a movie about food called Seasons of the Vine.
Apparently Disney has been trying to make some sort of "Play Pavilion" here, but that project has been on hold for so long, that I'm starting to wonder if they'll actually do it.
I guess enough kooks protested enough to remove this. God forbid kids learn anything that will help them understand their own bodies and help them make smart decisions.
This wasn't removed because of some religious groups or overprotective parent groups. It was because The Wonders of Life lost their sponsorship from MET and the pavellion wasn't that popular, plus as Mission Space opened and stole Body Wars' thunder (plus the fact people liked Star Tours over Body Wars due to it was smoother with less rocking which caused a lot of people to get motion sickness plus some people in general think blood and guts, even if this wasn't hyper realistic or gory, is gross), the whole thing slowly but steadily died (excuse the pun).
They took some drastic measures to ensure that he never actually said the word "sex." Lol
ViperRulerlm 😂 indeed they did.
It was in a Disney them park
My teacher showed our class this video for the "Human reproductive system" chapter of our Health class. Thanks Mr. O!
it's amazing how disney can take a serious topic as human reproduction and turn into a fun comedic and educational adventure that kids of all ages could understand.
Bravo Disney for what you once accomplished at the Epcot Center. The Wonders of Life pavilion was wonderful and very missed
Why serious?
Disney used to be world class
Not anymore :/

"dead in the present"
You do know Marty is still alive right?

I came to Disneyworld a year after the Life Pavilion shut down.
I would have loved to experience this firsthanf
You missed something truly special. Cranium Command and Making of me were unforgettable
I found this surprisingly touching.
Love the remastered stuff! Good job CFSS! 👍
Thank you Lou! Always a pleasure to hear a great compliment from you!
I loved this ride as a kid in 2005, and loved the animation teaching about health and science, I will always remember this ride 😀.
You don't see stuff like this in theme parks anymore or in general
Oh absolutely. Iger doesn't have the cojones to allow stuff like this anymore.

Never noticed that this had allusions to Back to the Future.

6:01 the dancing is a blast!
Thought I was watching back to the future
Both have a short Canadian actor going back in time to find his parents 🤷🏻♂️
I love Martin short he’s great in this
Cane here for the animation. I was NOT disappointed! 😄

I wish I could too. Along with Cranium Command and Body Wars as a little bundle of sorts.
the autism brought me here because now I have to watch everything he’s ever been in
*_..Marty I'm a bit scared why are you in this_*
This is just beautiful. 💖💕

That was pretty awesome.
Ron desantis would never let this exist in todays Florida!
Totally. He's all for abstinence-only sex education
And that my friends, is how I learned where babies come from.
The making of me is such a good show
Is this available on Disney+?
Nope, They're lost in HQ.

Michael Warbux yeah, especially the "two basic different types of people" part. I can see the SJW tweet and tumblr posts now.
Would it be the SJWs complaining or the conservative parents who think that the best sex ed is no sex ed?

man,it sucks that i was born 1 year after the ride closed,THANKS ALOT MOM! (jk mom, your a great mom and i love you)
This is why I'm childfree...
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm childfree but I do love The Making of Me. I find it funny how it's pro-childfree for a few seconds. "You mean, you'd rather do THIS than have me?"
Wait...what replaced this? Disney might as well have showed Mulholland Drive’s lesbian scene in the Wonders of Life pavilion.
NOTHING! Wonders of life has been abandoned for years now
Nothing really replaced this movie but when Disney uses the Wonders of Life pavilion for their festivals they sometimes play a movie about food called Seasons of the Vine.

It was made in the late '80s, when IVF was still very new.
