As a dog groomer, I can confirm that these dogs DO smell. They may have less of an odor than other breeds but they still smell. SO KEEP YOUR DOGS CLEAN PEOPLE.
I have a Maltese and they do smell. Sometimes more then other times. I have her groomed every six weeks with trim. Plus, I bath her every week, and every morning I wash her face and use wet ones to surface clean her.
Glad to see poodle at #1! I have a tiny little poodle & he literally does not smell bad even after our many runs! I stinked after our run & he doesn't! I bathe him only once in 10-14 days. Not because he smells bad but just wanna bathe him. And he'll become a walking flower! 😂 I think it also have to do with the environment of the living place, the food they eat, how the owner take care of their dogs etc. They don't really shed too. And so loving & smart! I love love love my li'l guy. 🐶❤
My Yorkshire Terrier is a male he doesn’t smell as long as you keep him groomed however once his hair starts growing back he piss on his long hair so you have to wipe him down every time he goes to potty!
you didn’t mention the “coton de tulear” breed. they are excellent indoor dogs, no doggie smell, hypoallergenic but difficult to find because they are still unpopular. i have three of them and they all sleep with us on our bed.
Had a sweet pitbull that never smelled like a dog. I took it for granted until I was around other dogs. Not a breed for inexperienced dog owners. He was best dog I ever had.
I have a West Highland Terrier and a long haired Chihuahua. The Westie needs a shower at least once a month for the house not to stink. She hates her just washed smell, whatever shampoo I use and happily rubs herself into something..interesting..at the earliest opportunity. She also requires trips to the groomers every 2 months as minimum. She's gorgeous, cute, playful and loyal so I'm glad to have her. The Chihuahua rarely smells and when he does its usually in hot weather, something Ireland doesn't see very often. Of the 2 he sheds least. He likes attention and petting more than playing. He hates the cold and getting wet. The shower is fine as its warm and he's getting attention. Not the yappy dog I expected. Handsome, funny and affectionate make up for stubbornness. Brushing 1-2 times a week keeps shedding at bay for both dogs. Westie can be left alone for a few hours but Chihuahua literally cries if I go out without him and leave my daughter with him, full time company is essential.
I totally agree with you. I have a long coat Chihuahua and you described him beautifully. He's fur covered love and thrives on any and all attention. Wonderful companion. Not stinky and altho' doesn't like his bath he is very compliant and tolerant because he's getting fussed over.
Interesting to see other comments that their Yorkies smell. I have had Yorkie and currently has two. They do not smell at all for few weeks after grooming. I would bathe them 3 weeks after their grooming until their next grooming. They even sleep with us.🐶🐶
I had a Basenji and he always smelled fresh and clean like towels you just removed from the dryer!😁They also clean themselves like a cat........extremely low maintenance.
Okay... I SMELL -- THEY STINK... In This case, the grammar matters. I thought these were dogs that didn't have the ability to smell. I've been around some Yorkie with realy bad teeth who STINK!
Hi! Please suggest a solution to my puppy..I bought a 2 months old French bulldog pupppy. We found that it to be born deaf. Can it get its hearing? Please suggest..I consulted a vet. He said it may get hearing. But he didn't give any treatment. Presently it can't here through both ears. Please suggest..
Hi. Dogs are trained to react to hand commands. Most commands are voice and hand. Our horse has many hand commands. Left, right, halt, back. Fun to train any animal. Slowly. Enjoy !
Not sure what poodle you seen, but my friend had a large poodle and it stank. They took it to Petsmart and washed it at home, but the thing smelled so bad. It was also high maintenance. He had the dog for about 7 years and this was his 6th dog (he had about 2-3 at a time and either a rabid animal got them or old age).
I NEVER heard of or known a poodle that smells. I have had 5, and my mother had 3 or 4. Maybe this dog you speak of had a bad smell due to lack of care did it ever get bath? Was it on proper diet ?Was it allowed to roam and get into disgusting things? The end end of your comment is disturbing too.. The dogs you speak of either died of old age or Rabies!!!! This isn't the 1930s, they have Rabies shots for dogs you know, which are required by law. Atleast hear in the US 🇺🇸.
Why did you leave off Bichons Frise? They are hypoallergenic because they have hair, not fur. They are extremely intelligent, love people, and don’t smell and are easily trained.
Bichon's are nasty little buggers if they are not socialised with children from a young age. My mother had 6 show dogs, one of whom nearly bit my 2-year old's face off when she had only just approached the dog, and I was present. I have had many dogs over the years myself and this is one breed that I just do not trust.
Many things play into a dogs smell. Teeth, food, fur/hair, paws, bum etc etc. Taking care of a dogs dental, wiping face/bum/private/paws/body with doggy wipes when coming in from walks, cleaning food and water bowls, using dog perfume/cologne after baths and walks, using good quality shampoo and conditioner, Good quality food, washing leashes/harnesses/clothes etc. Can help stop any stinky dog smell!! Take care of your dog and they won’t smell bad. But remember they are animals so they aren’t always gonna smell like flowers! Like us they have a specific smell
I have a poodle and a yorkie and agree that poodle is better than yorkie in term of smell management. My yorkie needs a bath twice as much as my poodle.
My Jack Russel smells nice, she didn’t like other dogs so never goes close to one so that might have something to do with it. Just be careful with bad breath, my dog had bad breath once and it was due to two bad teeth, I’m so glad she has a twice yearly vet check or she would have been suffering for too long because I was unaware that was the cause.
Many of these dogs that are low shedders tend to hold in muck in their coats. They also are very high maintenance when it comes to grooming as their coats can Matt easily
My daughter (who is a dog groomer as well) has a Malt and there is white hair all over the dark timber floors from time to time, so not sure how accurate this is.
I have a Maltese mix and I keep her clean she still smells after being outside .. I spray deodorizer periodically! It’s not a stench but a doggie odor .. and she sheds .. I brush often and must keep hair low to avoid excess hair all over the place

I have a havanese...you better be prepared to brush regularly as hair can get very matted if you do not keep up on brushing. Also, not grooming related, havanese do NOT like to be alone and they are not called the Velcro dog for no reason. You will never have a moment of privacy ever again with a havi. But that is what makes them such a special breed of dog!
Wow was surprised when poodles came first and husky wasn’t even mentioned . My poodle actually be a little stinkier than my husky dog who smells like roses for a week or more after shampooing 😂
Dalmatians have no dog odor at all, they don’t really need baths often and still retain their white coat and beautiful markings. It is quite dirt resistant. They just need a good brushing every few days to reduce the shedding which they so all year round. They are very active and playful dogs with their own brand of intelligence as well as more than average intelligence in breed comparative tests. However, they are very demanding for attention as puppies and need very loving and patient owners particularly for the first 18 months. I adore mine!
I feed my German Shepherds an organic opportunistic carnivore diet and they have no doggy odor. No commercial dog foods, and no worries about recalls, GMOs, Roundup, etc.
Basenjis are sight hounds. Make sure you understand this before you purchase one. They do shed. Those stuff little hairs get in everything. They are great dogs, as long as you understand what you’re getting in for.
I don't think there's a dog that does not smell. My boyfriend has 2 shelties and they have a standard doggy smell especially when their coat is a little damp.
It depends on skin types, always smell a pup or dog before you get it, my blue heeler always smells sweet (unless she’s rolled in something disgusting)
I have a Blue Heeler. She doesn’t smell like a dog, even when she gets wet. She might smell ‘sweaty’ a bit after a couple of weeks without bathing but you can barely detect it.
Hungarian Vizsla is another dog breed that does not smell. They are very clean and neat. They never slop water when they drink. They are called the Velcro dog because they stay very close to their owner. I had one and would love to have another.
We have a Wedgie tat sheds a little, definitely needs frequent grooming. Our Yorkie/Maltese mix smells within days of his weekly bath! How can both parents qualify as odorless? 😕
Basenjis are great dogs BUT they require a great deal of exercise and most importantly they are extreme escape artist. Unless you have a privacy fence your Basenji will escape the yard. They are highly intelligent dogs and no matter how tight you make the collar or the harness they can escape it. Many people do not know this before they get a Basenji and then spend hours trying to track their dog down. Basenjis are scent hounds therefore with their ability to escape almost anything they will run..
If a yorkie is fed bad human food, their teeth not maintained, and allowed to be wormy they can be smelly. Their breath will smell and they will have bad smelling gas.

When he barks it's always for a reason. When he barks you had better go check to find the reason. Example someone on property or at the door stranger etc. Great small watchdogs. Small dog big dog attitude
I have 2 schnauzers and they do have dog odor. I bathe them weekly and have them groomed and cut monthly. The breed has skin issues. They get Schnauzer bumps and have skin allergies. I have to keep my furniture covered and wash my coverings weekly to try and keep the "dog smell" out of my furniture. I know several other Schnauzer owners who say their dogs have similar odor and skin issues. Mine are on a grain free diet due to one having food allergies so no cheap dog food so that's not what causes them to smell.
I have an red heeler / shepherd mix. Very surprised to discover she never smells even though she only gets a bath a couple times a year. Only her feet smell like cheesies once in a while. But she’s a heavy shedder. So not quite perfect :)
I have a 3 pound Yorkie. My biggest issue with her is her breath🤢 I have had her teeth checked 2 x seeing if that could be the problem... But they say not. It seems like it comes from her gut. And worse when she's nervous or anxious. Anyone have any ideas? Our vets here do not specialize in toy breeds so if it's something out of the norm. It's not much help. She is 9 yrs old. Any ideas appreciated.
I have a whippet puppy who smells like his dog food and because he's a puppy he eats 4 times a day and smells constantly. Though not even close to as bad as some other dogs.
I think you forgot Scottish Terriers. They are much like the Westies (haireise) and they don’t shed hardly at all. So you need to add the Scottish terrier to that list. All dogs were smell if they are allowed to be outside rolling anything. Any of these dogs would do the same.
i have a german wire haired pointer and she is a very non smelly dog i believe it is mainly to do with the fact that she mainly eats meat butcher bought pet mince her breath doesnt even stink like most dogs that i have met she also has the whitest of teeth no sign of yellow or decay pet mince is hardly any more money than dried pet food (biscuits, cereal) just giving some friendly advice to all who are willing to listen. thankyou. ps.. we bathe her only if she has decided to go for a mud swim (not fun when she comes wandering in the house like that)

I love that there was a shiba inu even on the introduction. I checked this video out to see if it was featured, as mine doesn't smell at all.
I had two female schnauzer babies. They never smelled, and I loved them so much!!! The house never smelled, and they were beautiful angels!

Cairn Terriers do not smell, even when soaking wet and they do not shed. Loveable, cuddly, smart as all get out. I miss my sweet Roxy Pie.
I have two big standard poodles (mainly indoor dogs as I live in Europe) and my house doesn’t smell.
My 2 daschunds never smelled bad
Always had a great smell
Have 2 Huskies. Both dont smell at all unless they swim in a lake. They usually smell like flowers and clean themselves constantly
What no Shih tzu ? I had one for 16 years and she never shed or smelled
They fo smell
If not kept clean ANY dog smells like crap. I had friends with poodles and schnauzers. They stank !!!!
I have both of those ur correct they smell good if you take care of them
Maybe they didn’t clean them good🤷🏻♀️
You just need to mention a dog ! And I’m there 😂
Thank you!♥️
My Yorkie smells like a bag of corn chips daily.
The paws specially... haha, yes, I smell my Yorkie's paws while she sleeps.

All dogs that have bad teeth smell( as do humans with bad dental health ). Their cost doesn’t smell but their mouths do.
Shut up. No one cares what you think
Smartest dog is the one that listens to your commands and all dogs listen but not all dogs reaction is the same

Hahaha omg I thought you meant they had no sense of smell.
Glad I’m not the only one lol
likewise
It's what they are eating
What about Chihuahua s???
I want a poople but they have alot of health problems.
@Gina Price how about a probiotics that's what help my greyhound 👍I give him non fat Greek yogurt.
My sister has a maltpoo and her little beard smells all the time, otherwise pretty clean doge
My JRT hardly smells...
I have a whippet puppy who smells like his dog food and because he's a puppy he eats 4 times a day and smells constantly. Though not even close to as bad as some other dogs.
I have a long haired chihuahua and he has never smelled. I wonder if it’s just him or if they are all like that?
They're all like that. Chihuahuas don't smell.
My mother's chihuahua does have the doggy smell. Her coat is short. She gets baths every few weeks.
What was the breed the girl had on the chair at the start of the video before the list started!? So cute
It looks like a Japanese Akita.
Shiba Inu.. very similar to Akita but smaller sized
My baby is a Maltese....
I wanted a Teacup Poodle.
I settle for a Maltese.
Whatever you do.... don't settle.
Actually one of my Yorkies bless her did smell. She had Cushing's disease and needed two baths a week. She has sadly gone now.
So sorry for your loss. I lost my Yorkie a month ago so I feel for you. xxx
What bred dog started and ended this program?
I think you forgot Scottish Terriers. They are much like the Westies (haireise) and they don’t shed hardly at all. So you need to add the Scottish terrier to that list. All dogs were smell if they are allowed to be outside rolling anything. Any of these dogs would do the same.
Samoyed is a guarantee odorless dog. I have a few, but they do shed.
You didn’t mention the "Portuguese Water Dog" breed. Excellent indoor/0utdoor dogs, whith no smell and hypoallergenic fur.
i love all breedsof dogs smell or not🐶🐕
i have a german wire haired pointer and she is a very non smelly dog i believe it is mainly to do with the fact that she mainly eats meat butcher bought pet mince her breath doesnt even stink like most dogs that i have met she also has the whitest of teeth no sign of yellow or decay pet mince is hardly any more money than dried pet food (biscuits, cereal) just giving some friendly advice to all who are willing to listen. thankyou.
ps.. we bathe her only if she has decided to go for a mud swim (not fun when she comes wandering in the house like that)
