I've had rough collies for 60 years; they are wonderful pets and don't smell no matter how dirty they might get (usually by something like herding!) or how wet, or how long between baths. They do shed, of course, so if your heading were "dogs that don't smell AND don't shed much" they wouldn't qualify. Shelties also qualify for "no smell".

You forgot the Vizsla. They shed a little but don’t smell and are clean as a cat. When they take a drink, there is no dribbling water on the floor. They call them “the Velcro dog” because they love to be close to their human. I dearly loved mine. She always kept me in view when out on the trail and if we came to a fork in the trail, she would wait there for me to see which path I was going to take.

I have a standard poodle. He's very smart and very loving. Small correction to the video. Standard poodles were originally bred to be water retrievers and love to swim. They have webbed feet that are more webbed than a Labrador retriever. The toys and miniatures were bred down to be companion dogs, but the standard is a super smart, calm working dog who is also a great companion dog.
Designer doodles sometimes shed as much as there non poodle side, don’t always have a great personality, breeders often don't do any health testing, and generally cost more than a well bred standard poodle.
What ever dog you buy, make sure it comes from a reputable breeder who health tests, breeds for tempermant, and titles there dogs in UKC or AKC conformation, CGC, AND at least 1 other discipline like obedience, rally, or agility.

Great doggy info thanks I hope this video helps many animal lovers and dogs . Beagles are another type of dog without a bad smell I would bathe our beagle when she smiled like freetos and when wet she smiled like a clean dog. Weekly brushing is all it takes for a beagle to not shead. I like the easy short coat. We now have an amazing pitmix living off grid without a safe indoor heating method I can't bathe her in winter and she doesn't smell bad.at all. This beautiful strong.6mo puppy will get her 1st bath later this month when we move to a place with heat. She will look and small so pretty 🐾🐕

I like your video because it celebrates dogs and how truly wonderful they are on any given day BUT I cannot entirely agree about Yorkshire Terriers not being smelly dogs. In my own experience with two different yorkies they each could get smelly real quick and needed more than average maintenance when it came to their skin & hair which had everything to do w/ whether they smelled or not. I think climate definitely plays a big part, too. Nonetheless, Yorkies are some of the sweetest, loving, loyal & protective fur babies out there. For ANYONE thinking about getting a dog, smelly or not, PLEASE think about adopting a shelter dog. Their are so many out there just waiting to love and be loved.

I have a beautiful small/ medium dog who doesn’t smell and doesn’t shed - a Lowchen or Little Lion Dog.
This is a fairly rare breed, but becoming more popular. She is tough, easy to train, still very playful at 14 years, she has only been to the vet once to be sterilised, she is loyal, sweet natured with other dogs and all humans, including babies and little children. The only downside is that she doesn’t like to be left alone - so I have two dogs!

The charactaristic "dog smell" is from an animal that is stressed out, of various reasons.:)
Same with humans, we extract hormones when our system is stressed and with kontrareaction with the bacterias of the skin it etmittes certain chemicals that we can perceive as "smell".
It also correlates to what food the dog eats.
    :)

I have a Shiranian (Shih Tzu/Pomeranian mix), and she doesn’t smell at all. I’ve actually had my dog’s groomer ask me multiple times, “How do you make her always smell so good?” It’s just that she already doesn’t smell, and then snuggles up with me so much that whatever scent I’m wearing rubs off on her. 😂 My Shiranian is such a sweetheart, and is quite smart (although can be a bit stubborn). She does shed a little bit, but I think it’s a minimal amount.

My mother's otherwise perfect Australian Shepherd smells when she comes in from running. The smell fades after a while. See more than makes up for this "floor" by being sweet, astoundingly smart, and very protective

Nevena might wanna see your vet. He/she may have allergies. Mine is a purebred and does not shed or smell. And I have had several shih tzus. I did have one that started getting food allergies and he did shed. But after he was tested the vet changed his food. So might wanna look into that. I hope that helps. If he/she is scratching a lot and loosing hair. Could be allergies. That’s how mine did. Good luck. I hope you get answers.

Although all those other dogs are "pretty" good. Thanks for the GREAT video!

Hi. We have decided on a Yorky. The reasons for our choice are all that aforementioned in your list. But mostly because we’ve had great difficulty finding one for less than two thousand dollars. We’ve checked shelters everywhere but no tiny lap dogs. We are older and have had four dogs and three kitties. We have loved all of them intensely and have missed them too very intensely. We have two boys, 5 & 7 years old, they are adopted brothers but non-bio related. The shelter would have separated them but no way we’d cause them that pain when they were already suffering the loss of both human parents via auto accident. Very sad indeed. Anyway, we should be receiving a phone call from the breeder soon. We hope.
Your video was helpful in our decision. Loved ❤️ them all, on your list. Finding them though is near impossible.
At any rate, thank you for a very useful post. Appreciate that, a lot!🍃👍😊❤️🍃

We have a Morkie (maltese/yorkie), but looks just like a yorkie. Definately a lap dog! Loving, but headstrong.

My daughter has a labradoodle. While she is the best sweetest dog, she sheds like crazy! With mixed dogs like a labradoodle, golden doodle, it's always a crap shoot! The other dogs that came from the same litter look different than her.

I have a Finnish Spitz and because her hair is water-proof, it’s odor-proof as well! Sheds a lot though 😁

just going to add, even dog breeds known to have a strong doggy smell, do not smell when kept properly! my dog is a mutt but every breed in his mix is known for a strong smell, roman doesn't smell at all, i brush his teeth, keep him on good quality food that keeps his skin and coat in excellent condition, keep his nails trimmed, keep his double coat brushed (conditioning as needed) keep his ears clean and give him Benadryl after he goes in the rain or water to help with infections, i treat his waxy dermatitis issues and check his anal glands when needed. my mom is very sensitive to dog smell and was against them for years because of it, she herself states all the time that roman doesn't smell! so take care of them properly and they wont smell in the first freaking place!

Um not exactly. There's no way you're going to get that hound smell out of a Bassett Hound. I had a friend who had one, and he was exceptionally well cared-for, but my God, the smell of that thing! I had to air the house out after a visit!
