Keep multi-player optional. Add more vehicle options. Add bows in addition to crossbows. Add weather. Add wild life. Add ability to harm and kill any NPCs on sight, without requiring a dialogue choice first. Add visibly traveling NPCs while exploring and scavenging with random chances of friendly and hostile encounters. Add deeper bodies of water and swimming skills. Add more urban, city environments in contrast to rural map locations. I'd be happy with just this list.
And some other simple cool things, like motorcycles, maybe bicycles, more customization, (more cooler hats and hat styles, glasses, facial hair, ability to change hair style, facepaint maybe, vests, or shirts with a vest style, ems uniforms, and more, you get the point), survivors appearances changing over time, (maybe hair color turning gray, or facial hair growing like rdr2), and visible bandages and blood/injuries on survivors, and more places to have a community at, (like the firestations, police stations, maybe even the food places n shit). Those would also be amazing. Customization is cool
yeah, i'll be extremely disappointed if state of decay went the MMO rout. what made state of decay for me was the SINGLE PLAYER story telling, not having to have a microphone talking to people online with meta. definitely hoping the multiplayer is optional and not forced.. i feel like multiplayer zombie games never work out because communities always turn toxic and it becomes a pain to play with all the griefing and trolling
Other than job postings that talked about looking for devs with "live service experience" I haven't seen any evidence of exactly what type of multiplayer we are set to see. I know they USED TO HAVE a VISION of an MMO type of zombie apoc game and I've heard several times now they are achieving the "vision" they have always had for the game but I'm not ready to say thats an ACTUAL MMO It could also be me like a lot of us I'm biased myself and personally hoping we aren't going to see an MMO as well. I DON'T want to see an MMO but I can't say one way or another yet. All I know is multiplayer is going to be bigger than it was. TO what degree that looks like? I don't know Thanks for the comment!
I get it's a game, but without the conflict within- it loses the apocalypse feel. Like all the people in the world, let alone a small town would stand together without conflict. Resources run low... people get greedy or start slippin... maybe roblox is more your speed if you prefer soft as baby food games... the end is nigh, if you're in my server you fry lol😂

Microsoft isn’t allowed it. Brant said on Reddit that he’s asked to be transparent like the used to be with sod2 but was denied. Microsoft is controlling the flow of information and all we can hope so is that Undead Labs stays on their game and makes a banger
The vagueness of the personal "story" aspect is what's given State of Decay 2 its legs really. The fact you don't get forced down a path and can play the game indefinitely. Crafting the ability for every character to have their own relationships etc will definitely help keep the game dynamic. PvE is hopefully still the main focus.
I think that SoD3 needs 3 core features for it to be great. In order it should be: 1)multiplayer- an actual multiplayer experience where your friends can have an impact on your game experience and story. And change the looting system so anyone can access the loot. You can make it a setting so if ppl don’t want to share loot they can have it on. 2)Map design- they should make the map either large open world or if they keep this region style map design a better transition to areas and not have to switch your base spots. There should be 4 map zones a large city, an urban residential area, farm land/small towns, and the last would be woodlands that contains cabins and campgrounds. 3)story- a good story that makes you want to do it not need you to do it. It should have an impact on your world and have diverse missions that are not repetitive like in Sod2. If they can get those core aspects done then add the frosting with other aspects such as : Vehicles- motorcycles, rvs, bikes, and horses? Improve survival aspects- clothes, weather, food, and water. Make them needed but not so much that they are annoying to manage. Base improvements- freedom to build and make improvements to the base you choose maybe board windows, build fences, new farms and electricity stuff like that. Those are just some examples but the game is going to be big we just have to wait and see if it will be good or bad.
i agree especially with the base building part. i like that aspect in SOD 2 but it just feels a little too limited for me, they should definitly add some more complex building into the game when it comes to bases. ANother thing i think would add much more freedom is the ability to build a base anywhere and not some pre-built area like a building or something.
I agree that would be the best if you could claim any location as your base and be fortified. Let’s hope for that but it will be tough for them since they have always done the premade base locations.
@@luke4010 I think that if they only focus on single player they lose a lot of fans and loose out on a big opportunity. However for sure they need to work on their solo campaign and mechanics for those that want to just play by themselves. Just have to have a nice balance. I don’t think they will go a route that would force you to play multiplayer or have to interact with others if you don’t want to.

Weather that effects audio (snow dampens footsteps etc), animals/hunting, more freak enemies, more clothing customisation, deeper relationships/arguments in camp, longer and more in depth skill progression, armours, more vehicles (motorbikes, tractors, lorries etc). Command ability for followers (make them distract, run, melee/shoot etc). Crazy weapons like flame throwers, missle launchers, cannons for the base etc. And i would really like to see some interactive things on the world map, like zip wires at camp sites or ski lifts at mountain resorts or even small boats on rivers. Only just got into state of decay, really love this game, very hopeful for the third one.
Honestly....I feel like State of Decay 3 could turn out to be something closer to what The Day Before tried to pitch themselves as...but you know, with an actual game and reputable company.
There will be a new Xbox when this game comes out. 😅 No hate on the dev team, they better flesh this fully out before release. With the base of SoD2 with all these so wished expansions, they have the chance to create the ultimate zombie survival game ngl
I hope sod3 introduces base expansion allowing you to expand your base over to a neighboring house or building depending on your community's needs. So as your community grows you can expand more until you slowly take over an entire town. The payoff would be huge with resource generating from unique buildings in the town making survival a little easier. But the risk factor would be just as great with a greater area to defend could create multiple attacks at once and way more risks of survivor infection spreading. I also would like to see a major city in the game something resource heavy but also zombie heavy and completely incapable of being inhabited it would always have resources but also always have hoards of zombies.

This is the game ive been anticipating the most since the reveal in 2020. The anticipation has only made spend even more time in sod than i ever have before. Im honestly really excited for the next big trailer we get not just for the obvious reasons, but to watch sod 2 get a big surge in new players and see people fall in love with what theyve done since release.
Things i want in SOD3(i know some are dumb) •headshots to not explode heads •freaks to not all look the same •more weapon modifications (sights,lights) •better cars and car modifications (id like for my upgraded military truck to not have a chance of being blue and pink) •i dont want the zomvies to have glowing eyes •i want to able to sprint and tackle a zombie in some stealth takedown •i want weather and tempature changes •i want better gunshot sounds i want to hear the POP •i want a main character like marcus in sod1 and if possible just use a custom character •better clothes and character modifications
Undead Labs seems to have learned from other studios and their own growing pains. Every update since Juggernaut Edition has been a step forward. The fact that they update the State of Decay 2 as they try new tools/mechanics that might be used in the next title is very exciting for me as a player. All of these updates are still supporting a very satisfying single player game or a very lively co-op match on the same map that you're working through. It's the best post-apocalyptic survival game because of its replay ability and the evolving tools/maps/mechanics that keep getting implemented every few months. No other post-apocalyptic game (including all of the Fallout titles under Bethesda) gets the rhythm of loot, shoot, upgrade, maintain, repair and expand like SoD 1 and being perfected (because UL is still working on it) in SoD2. I can't wait for SoD3... but in the meantime, I have SoD2 on update 35.
You need some way to see them. Just like in games with snipers you need a way to spot them or its very hard and unfair for a lot of players. They want people to play, not easily quit because it's too hard and unbalanced.
Funny you mention that. When they confirmed that Starfield or Indiana Jones wasn't going to other platforms and it was 4 games total and its perhaps "community driven" I thought of State Of Decay right away. I think its VERY POSSIBLE we could see State Of Decay moving to other consoles and I WOULD LOVE THAT. SO Yeah I 100% think we could SEE it but thats just me speculating due to the fact that State Of Decay 3 is set to be a live service game and they will want people playing it in droves. I'd like to see: 1. Ability to clear roads 2. NPC's attack and challenge you for your base 3. Ability to choose any building and customize, as your base 4. Ability to bring more than one car home at a time (in single player) 5. NPC's that also drive 6. More side stories, missions 7. Variety of vehicles, operable tow trucks, bus (larger payload, more passengers) 8. More dense, urban areas I don't care about aesthetics like clothing, unless it adds to gameplay, like armor would.
I think that state of decay 2 blue print is good where you have the option to join or invite people to multiplayer I think they should keep it that way and also maybe character customisation
Pitching a tent would be nice and actually sleeping to pass time or recovery Entergy and health without having to always swap players. Weatherization (rain, snow, heat, etc.) effects on the character; and clothing impact movement and states.
I just hope we get an actual story mode. I think there should be a story mode like sod 1 , and then a survival mode like sod2. I enjoyed the 2nd game but i missed having those legendary characters that you grew attached to like Marcus.
What I really like from what they are doing is this. They arent allowed to go into to much detail because of legality and their partnership with xbox but they do continue to work on the game and constantly say that they are working on it. At the same time they are producing it through Unreal Engine 5 which they cant really talk about but I am sure has also led to some escalation in the release timelines as it has already done that for MANY of games and companies such as Ark 2. And despite all this they are still working on making improvements and additions to the game that we can play State of Decay 2 which does at least give us hope and faith that they are working on the said game. ☺
I'm still really upset that there are tons of clothing options you only see on non playable characters. I hope this changes at some point. Definitely want more clothing options and I hope to see Cash Beaumont make a return.
I like how SOD has evolved. What would be nice is more of a Heartland Story for each map. Have that be the “Storyline” But also have just the regular mode for maps too. The building weapons was fun and more mods would be nice too. Laser sights….mounts….stuff like that. The Bounty Broker is great for unique weapons. But I’d love to see more about Talon Company. Maybe beat the Story Mode and unlock Talon Company missions and weapons/tech.
Great vid and update Sunny! My 2c - I'm all for relationship engines but I personally really enjoyed the absence of a linear storyline in SOD1 Breakdown and SOD2. I stopped playing Dying Light as I felt I was playing someone else's game - just doing one quest after another to advance the game. SOD3 could do with more complex story arcs and consequences but I hope it retains the freedom SOD2 has that allows. Also weather, people will expect more than just a few defaults (rain, not rain, storm, wind) - sounds like they will employ more complex systems (mist, drizzle, wind and rain, just rain, etc). I feel if there is one team that seems in tune with their fan base it’s Undead Labs. So not worried that the franchise will lose sight of what the players have loved over the years but I hear you. How many days would you need to be in one community, to want "significantly different" weather? Momentary rain/snow flurry (5-20 minutes) every now and then would be fine. Choosing a season at the start of a map/map change would be awesome. Rain at 3pm when a "game day" lasts 80 minutes would be tedious.
A new freak I think they should come up with is a climber. They would be able to climb ladders, buildings, vehicles, just to make it more challenging. Another thing I never liked about the game was how the eyes on zombies glow. I think we should get rid of that.
I really wanted the ability to play as someone elses community members. It always felt like I wasnt helping whoever I joined but just was helping myself.
- Multiplayer is an OPTION not the default - Multiplayer needs to be revamped. When my friends and I play, I want us all to feel like we own that community. I done want my friends to feel like just visitors - More variance in encounters

Im really looking forward to this game honestly id love to see surrvivors wit not great traits or even bad ones but ones you will actually build stories wit and enjoy the challenge that comes wit each surrvivor I really wanted to play as a surrvivor with glasses because it would be cool appearance wise maybe like a sunglasses scraped together or glasses duct taped to look rugged And the negative being shortsighted hard to see enemies from long range and finding glasses counteracts that i know that they do alot as it is and making each character model fit the glasses is alot for one thing I also understand why they did not do facial beards or mustaches as well i have huge respect to the undead lab studios and cant wait to see what they make
More customized base building and an aspect where you can actually build in some way or another instead of slots for facilities and preset home locations would be pretty cool
This game is underrated. I'm a big fan of the zombie genre, the Walking Dead being my favorite show of all time. I don't think I've played a game this much in the recent years besides Skyrim. Hope this game continues to get more players and lives on for a long time.
There's something I always hated about Sod series .... the ammo system . It's too hard to farm and the crafting wasn't as rewarding . Having a gun wasn't worth
Id love to see clothing impact. Having to bundle up or cut a loot run short because your character is freezing or becoming worn from the elements not just sleepy
A little more freedom to build and construct. If specific or designated zones only? fine, then loosen the boundaries or add more options to the base construction and set up or perhaps go really big take the locks off locations and allow me to take over that broken down building and reinforce it... I mean always a pre-built base ? why play the exact same game again if you have already experienced everything in a session...not interested in repeating in a sort of loop
A high emphasis on Community Population (Capacity) possibly reaching a point where we could remain a small band or group - to becoming a full fledge small army of sorts. This leading in to my second biggest hope which is the capability to gather more followers because of need to fight in numbers. A bigger world comes with more populace, and as one of the greatest characters of the genre has said, "People are a resource, Rick." -Negan. P.S. The ability to have a traveling group option would be a dream fulfilled for many of us. The option to be a nomadic convoy or "pioneer posse" if you will. Using building simular to games like ark to custom ur own base. Also have coop be a shared world so u could either share a base in the same community or have separate bases maybe compete for resources with some pvp action or at least the option

Idk about anyone else but I wonder if that Zombie Deer was inspired by Train To Busan because that's the first Zombie like thing in the film. One of the number 1 things I want is to carry our characters over from the 2nd game since I think like me a vast amount of other players enjoy a lot of the characters we've created and survived like 1000 days.

Can you ask to the developers these 3 questions: 1) we will have character creation and costumization? 2) we will can choose where's we gonna start the game: forest, rural zone or city 3) will have the option to play as a lone wolf survivor or start a community?
Please please no PVP and I would like to see a true camping set up where you can post a tent and craft at the camping spot also the camping spot can be attacked while you're sleeping or not.
Undead labs be like, here's a Teaser.. Now wait 7yrs Bih!!! I stopped playing SoD2 after curveball update. I need a new map, new legacy with boon, new less repetitive fetch missions (whatever happened to taking a frustrated community member out to smash zombie heads for a cool down), bigger npc communities that Actually move into one of the set home bases. It'd be dope if you got a message over the radio asking for assistance to clear out a huge infestation at a Base for npcs, then, as they begin to build up the base, sieges can happen. Similar to the group with Becca in SoD1 who needed your help as they build a watchtower. Now That was truly a great single player campaign with great story and characters to bond with. As long as they keep single player mode, I'm good. I despise mmo's unless it's a shooter game.
I love the idea of permadeath in State of Decay. Since the first game, we tend to get attached to certain characters in our communities, and the simple fact of putting them in real danger when they go on missions, knowing that we can lose them permanently, adds a lot of spice to the game. I think putting even more emphasis on the attachment to the characters in our community, improving their relationships, giving them more personality, and fostering empathy towards them would be fantastic and would create even more excitement and anxiety at the thought of losing them permanently. I'm also looking forward to a significant improvement in cooperative play personally. Not necessarily an MMO with servers containing hundreds of players, but simply the ability to truly play the game and live our stories with a couple of friends. Being able to create a multiplayer community on the same map and work together to try to survive.
Im a diehard fan of Both 1 and 2 and look forward to 3. 1)Outposts should require 1 to 4 people to keep them running. Start at 1 and gain a slot with each lvl up to add more characters to defend it. This way characters with certain skills can be utilized in certain outposts. 2)Also >Please NO PVP< 3)More buildings for bases other than 1 big 1 per map.
I’m telling you when new bounty’s come out the first thing I do is spend 20+ years going through my gun collection since I have 3000+ guns and I start going to the bounty broker
Honestly, simulating and expanding the outposts system so it's more tactical and you've got me hooked. Not too sure about too many players. Though adding in a level of diplomacy between player factions might be cool. Having a MMO amount of players.. idk
The new game needs more frequent and varied hostile human encounters. Such as random encounters when looting, hostiles raiding your base and hostiles in vehicles. Fixed MGs and motors would be cool too.
One of the biggest things i hope for is a thirst and hunger bar. I wanna have to search for water and food physically for my character to drink and eat
I don't mind the wait. Games these days are getting bigger and more detailed. That takes time. For example, there was only a 1 year gap between GTA3 and Vice City, and the differences between them aren't very dramatic. But, there's an 8 year gap between Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead Redemption 2, and look at the absolutely massive difference between them.
I don't understand why they're not taking one of the maps and filling it up just with freaks hoard and once an area is cleared stay clear until an event happens to trigger respawning again , they can choose whatever map make it smaller put some tanks , helicopters, heavy guns , limited survivor number in order for you just to access that mup with the best stats survivors , I mean is easy to do it instead of realising all boring features 🤞🤞🤞
I would like to see an attachment system like in sod 2 we had suppressors but i would like to see something like fortnites system where you can add a suppressor or a muzzle break then a sight/scope then a flashlight or laser option aswell as a grip option (verital or angled) and magazine upgrades and make it so u have to find the attachments to customise your weapon system but make it realistic so shotgun's cant use suppressors and shotguns cant have Drum magazines (unless magazine fed shotguns) but instead make it increase the buffer tube to have more ammo aswell as make these attachments sold by any trader at random chance but also keep the same system sod 2 had where you can craft attachments like makeshift, advanced and professional suppressors chokes and and muzzle breaks but dont make it to where you can craft any of the other attachments. only make it so you can craft the barrle attachments like you could in sod2.
Another thing is also don't make it so you can attach bipod or any grips onto a pistols cause obviously it doesnt have a big enough barrel to need a grip to help support the weight
I also would like to see fire engine's and military vehicles in sod 3 aswell as all the vehicles in the game already and also add in a police ford utility suv and a police dodge charger aswell as the police ford crown vic already in sod 2
The thing i'm the most excited and scared for is multiplayer, i have a few idea of what i could looks like but i cant say if it is going to meet my expectation
Honestly I would love a more complex skill system not a skill tree but just more to grind to unlock cool abilities that are great to have at harder difficulties
i would love the idea of zombie animals, also the story telling and relationships. i also hope the animation is more fluid, if you are used to call of duty this feels kinda stiff, in state of decay 2. i would also love the idea that you can have a base with a friend, now we can help but we still have our own base, i want to start one with a friend, and manage it together.
I hope they don't over do it with the multiplayer, I just hope it can also be played as a single player game much like the first two. If they do have MP, I hope we can make our own bases this time around.
Some attention to detail like Rockstar does with their single-player games would be very welcome. Bows and arrows, horses, bicycles, measured fuel, no microtransactions.
Bro if they keep the same state of decay soundtrack ima be happy like each time they have updates and tell us about them I always remember that at the end of the update notes they say keep surviving state of decay 2 survivors
Love your channel and SOD 3 updates! I’d love to be able to customize a character, their look, hair, and cloths individually. Be able to build a base almost anywhere with better customizable options. It’d also be cool to have more people in the base, even if it’s full of NPC’s. Also better customizable vehicles. a dynamic cause and effect system. For example if you cast out a survivor they may join another enclave and will attack your base for revenge. If your leader gets people killed then the rest of your group will turn on the leader. If you become a tyrant like Negan from TWD. Enclaves will join forces and try to take you out. If you have the love of other conclaves they will come and assist you if you’re out in the world, or will help if you’re under attack. Larger zombie hordes that can take over your entire base if you don’t have the defense or redirect them. Lastly, I’m good with either one gigantic map, or like it is now with multiple maps, but add a dang city for crying out loud. Could be cool if the best loot is in the city but it would be suicide to venture in there without an army because of the sheer numbers of the Undead.
All I want is a FPS mode and when I make my base I wanna make it somewhat like fallout 4s building system except less in depth and a make it a bit creative and more guns, other then that I am good I love everything about the games
Jez Corden teased the possibility of SoD 3 being at Xbox showcase and other leakers have also claimed we’ll get some sort of gameplay/trailer for it, I can definitely see it releasing in 2025
Im so hyped for State of Decay 3, Im a big Zombie game fan but Im an even bigger fan of games that are unique, that offer something different than the others and thats what I like so much about the franchise. And some other simple cool things, like motorcycles, maybe bicycles, more customization, (more cooler hats and hat styles, glasses, facial hair, ability to change hair style, facepaint maybe, vests, or shirts with a vest style, ems uniforms, and more, you get the point), survivors appearances changing over time, (maybe hair color turning gray, or facial hair growing like rdr2), and visible bandages and blood/injuries on survivors, and more places to have a community at, (like the firestations, police stations, maybe even the food places n shit). Those would also be amazing. Customization is cool
yeah, i'll be extremely disappointed if state of decay went the MMO rout. what made state of decay for me was the SINGLE PLAYER story telling, not having to have a microphone talking to people online with meta. definitely hoping the multiplayer is optional and not forced.. i feel like multiplayer zombie games never work out because communities always turn toxic and it becomes a pain to play with all the griefing and trolling

I haven't seen any evidence of exactly what type of multiplayer we are set to see. I know they USED TO HAVE a VISION of an MMO type of zombie apoc game and I've heard several times now they are achieving the "vision" they have always had for the game but I'm not ready to say thats an ACTUAL MMO
It could also be me like a lot of us I'm biased myself and personally hoping we aren't going to see an MMO as well. I DON'T want to see an MMO but I can't say one way or another yet. All I know is multiplayer is going to be bigger than it was. TO what degree that looks like? I don't know

I get it's a game, but without the conflict within- it loses the apocalypse feel. Like all the people in the world, let alone a small town would stand together without conflict. The vagueness of the personal "story" aspect is what's given State of Decay 2 its legs really. The fact you don't get forced down a path and can play the game indefinitely.
Crafting the ability for every character to have their own relationships etc will definitely help keep the game dynamic. PvE is hopefully still the main focus.

I think that SoD3 needs 3 core features for it to be great. In order it should be:
1)multiplayer- an actual multiplayer experience where your friends can have an impact on your game experience and story. And change the looting system so anyone can access the loot. You can make it a setting so if ppl don’t want to share loot they can have it on.
2)Map design- they should make the map either large open world or if they keep this region style map design a better transition to areas and not have to switch your base spots. There should be 4 map zones a large city, an urban residential area, farm land/small towns, and the last would be woodlands that contains cabins and campgrounds.
3)story- a good story that makes you want to do it not need you to do it. It should have an impact on your world and have diverse missions that are not repetitive like in Sod2.
If they can get those core aspects done then add the frosting with other aspects such as :
Vehicles- motorcycles, rvs, bikes, and horses?
Improve survival aspects- clothes, weather, food, and water. Make them needed but not so much that they are annoying to manage.
Base improvements- freedom to build and make improvements to the base you choose maybe board windows, build fences, new farms and electricity stuff like that.
Those are just some examples but the game is going to be big we just have to wait and see if it will be good or bad.
i agree especially with the base building part. i like that aspect in SOD 2 but it just feels a little too limited for me, they should definitly add some more complex building into the game when it comes to bases. ANother thing i think would add much more freedom is the ability to build a base anywhere and not some pre-built area like a building or something.
I agree that would be the best if you could claim any location as your base and be fortified. Let’s hope for that but it will be tough for them since they have always done the premade base locations.

However for sure they need to work on their solo campaign and mechanics for those that want to just play by themselves. Just have to have a nice balance. Weather that effects audio (snow dampens footsteps etc), animals/hunting, more freak enemies, more clothing customisation, deeper relationships/arguments in camp, longer and more in depth skill progression, armours, more vehicles (motorbikes, tractors, lorries etc).
Command ability for followers (make them distract, run, melee/shoot etc).
Crazy weapons like flame throwers, missle launchers, cannons for the base etc.
And i would really like to see some interactive things on the world map, like zip wires at camp sites or ski lifts at mountain resorts or even small boats on rivers.
Only just got into state of decay, really love this game, very hopeful for the third one.
Honestly....I feel like State of Decay 3 could turn out to be something closer to what The Day Before tried to pitch themselves as...but you know, with an actual game and reputable company.

I hope sod3 introduces base expansion allowing you to expand your base over to a neighboring house or building depending on your community's needs. So as your community grows you can expand more until you slowly take over an entire town. The payoff would be huge with resource generating from unique buildings in the town making survival a little easier. But the risk factor would be just as great with a greater area to defend could create multiple attacks at once and way more risks of survivor infection spreading. I also would like to see a major city in the game something resource heavy but also zombie heavy and completely incapable of being inhabited it would always have resources but also always have hoards of zombies.
I can wait longer. Just as long as they don't venture out too far ,to the point where it doesn't feel like SOD.

This is the game ive been anticipating the most since the reveal in 2020. The anticipation has only made spend even more time in sod than i ever have before.
Im honestly really excited for the next big trailer we get not just for the obvious reasons, but to watch sod 2 get a big surge in new players and see people fall in love with what theyve done since release.
Things i want in SOD3(i know some are dumb)
•headshots to not explode heads
•freaks to not all look the same
•more weapon modifications (sights,lights)
•better cars and car modifications (id like for my upgraded military truck to not have a chance of being blue and pink)
•i dont want the zomvies to have glowing eyes
•i want to able to sprint and tackle a zombie in some stealth takedown
•i want weather and tempature changes
•i want better gunshot sounds i want to hear the POP
•i want a main character like marcus in sod1 and if possible just use a custom character
•better clothes and character modifications
Undead Labs seems to have learned from other studios and their own growing pains. Every update since Juggernaut Edition has been a step forward. The fact that they update the State of Decay 2 as they try new tools/mechanics that might be used in the next title is very exciting for me as a player. All of these updates are still supporting a very satisfying single player game or a very lively co-op match on the same map that you're working through.
It's the best post-apocalyptic survival game because of its replay ability and the evolving tools/maps/mechanics that keep getting implemented every few months. No other post-apocalyptic game (including all of the Fallout titles under Bethesda) gets the rhythm of loot, shoot, upgrade, maintain, repair and expand like SoD 1 and being perfected (because UL is still working on it) in SoD2.
I can't wait for SoD3... but in the meantime, I have SoD2 on update 35.

8. More dense, urban areas

I think that state of decay 2 blue print is good where you have the option to join or invite people to multiplayer I think they should keep it that way and also maybe character customisation

Keep the same general gameplay loop. Don't lose what made SOD2 so great.

I just hope we get an actual story mode. I think there should be a story mode like sod 1 , and then a survival mode like sod2. I enjoyed the 2nd game but i missed having those legendary characters that you grew attached to like Marcus.
What I really like from what they are doing is this. They arent allowed to go into to much detail because of legality and their partnership with xbox but they do continue to work on the game and constantly say that they are working on it. At the same time they are producing it through Unreal Engine 5 which they cant really talk about but I am sure has also led to some escalation in the release timelines as it has already done that for MANY of games and companies such as Ark 2.
And despite all this they are still working on making improvements and additions to the game that we can play State of Decay 2 which does at least give us hope and faith that they are working on the said game. ☺
I'm still really upset that there are tons of clothing options you only see on non playable characters. I hope this changes at some point. Definitely want more clothing options and I hope to see Cash Beaumont make a return.
I like how SOD has evolved. What would be nice is more of a Heartland Story for each map. Have that be the “Storyline”
But also have just the regular mode for maps too.
The building weapons was fun and more mods would be nice too. Laser sights….mounts….stuff like that.
The Bounty Broker is great for unique weapons. But I’d love to see more about Talon Company. Maybe beat the Story Mode and unlock Talon Company missions and weapons/tech.

Great vid and update Sunny! My 2c - I'm all for relationship engines but I personally really enjoyed the absence of a linear storyline in SOD1 Breakdown and SOD2. I stopped playing Dying Light as I felt I was playing someone else's game - just doing one quest after another to advance the game. SOD3 could do with more complex story arcs and consequences but I hope it retains the freedom SOD2 has that allows. Also weather, people will expect more than just a few defaults (rain, not rain, storm, wind) - sounds like they will employ more complex systems (mist, drizzle, wind and rain, just rain, etc). I really wanted to play as a surrvivor with glasses because it would be cool appearance wise maybe like a sunglasses scraped together or glasses duct taped to look rugged
And the negative being shortsighted hard to see enemies from long range and finding glasses counteracts that i know that they do alot as it is and making each character model fit the glasses is alot for one thing I also understand why they did not do facial beards or mustaches as well i have huge respect to the undead lab studios and cant wait to see what they make

This game is underrated. I'm a big fan of the zombie genre, the Walking Dead being my favorite show of all time. I don't think I've played a game this much in the recent years besides Skyrim. Hope this game continues to get more players and lives on for a long time.
There's something I always hated about Sod series .... the ammo system . It's too hard to farm and the crafting wasn't as rewarding . Having a gun wasn't worth

A high emphasis on Community Population (Capacity) possibly reaching a point where we could remain a small band or group - to becoming a full fledge small army of sorts. This leading in to my second biggest hope which is the capability to gather more followers because of need to fight in numbers. A bigger world comes with more populace, and as one of the greatest characters of the genre has said, "People are a resource, Rick." -Negan.
P.S. The ability to have a traveling group option would be a dream fulfilled for many of us. The option to be a nomadic convoy or "pioneer posse" if you will.

Idk about anyone else but I wonder if that Zombie Deer was inspired by Train To Busan because that's the first Zombie like thing in the film. One of the number 1 things I want is to carry our characters over from the 2nd game since I think like me a vast amount of other players enjoy a lot of the characters we've created and survived like 1000 days.

I stopped playing SoD2 after curveball update.
I need a new map, new legacy with boon, new less repetitive fetch missions (whatever happened to taking a frustrated community member out to smash zombie heads for a cool down), bigger npc communities that Actually move into one of the set home bases. It'd be dope if you got a message over the radio asking for assistance to clear out a huge infestation at a Base for npcs, then, as they begin to build up the base, sieges can happen. Similar to the group with Becca in SoD1 who needed your help as they build a watchtower.
Now That was truly a great single player campaign with great story and characters to bond with.
As long as they keep single player mode, I'm good. I despise mmo's unless it's a shooter game.
I blame Microsoft for that. Microsoft have always announced games too early which can kill the hype. But they've recently gotten better

100% the tethering drives me nuts. I wonder what the reason was for even implementing this in the game.
I love the idea of permadeath in State of Decay. Since the first game, we tend to get attached to certain characters in our communities, and the simple fact of putting them in real danger when they go on missions, knowing that we can lose them permanently, adds a lot of spice to the game.
I think putting even more emphasis on the attachment to the characters in our community, improving their relationships, giving them more personality, and fostering empathy towards them would be fantastic and would create even more excitement and anxiety at the thought of losing them permanently.
I'm also looking forward to a significant improvement in cooperative play personally. Not necessarily an MMO with servers containing hundreds of players, but simply the ability to truly play the game and live our stories with a couple of friends. Being able to create a multiplayer community on the same map and work together to try to survive.
Im a diehard fan of Both 1 and 2 and look forward to 3.
1)Outposts should require 1 to 4 people to keep them running. Start at 1 and gain a slot with each lvl up to add more characters to defend it. This way characters with certain skills can be utilized in certain outposts.

3)More buildings for bases other than 1 big 1 per map.
I’m telling you when new bounty’s come out the first thing I do is spend 20+ years going through my gun collection since I have 3000+ guns and I start going to the bounty broker
Honestly, simulating and expanding the outposts system so it's more tactical and you've got me hooked. Not too sure about too many players. Though adding in a level of diplomacy between player factions might be cool. Having a MMO amount of players.. idk
The new game needs more frequent and varied hostile human encounters.

I don't mind the wait. Games these days are getting bigger and more detailed. That takes time. For example, there was only a 1 year gap between GTA3 and Vice City, and the differences between them aren't very dramatic. But, there's an 8 year gap between Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead Redemption 2, and look at the absolutely massive difference between them.
I don't understand why they're not taking one of the maps and filling it up just with freaks hoard and once an area is cleared stay clear until an event happens to trigger respawning again , they can choose whatever map make it smaller put some tanks , helicopters, heavy guns , limited survivor number in order for you just to access that mup with the best stats survivors , I mean is easy to do it instead of realising all boring features 🤞🤞🤞
I would like to see an attachment system like in sod 2 we had suppressors but i would like to see something like fortnites system where you can add a suppressor or a muzzle break then a sight/scope then a flashlight or laser option aswell as a grip option (verital or angled) and magazine upgrades and make it so u have to find the attachments to customise your weapon system but make it realistic so shotgun's cant use suppressors and shotguns cant have Drum magazines (unless magazine fed shotguns) but instead make it increase the buffer tube to have more ammo aswell as make these attachments sold by any trader at random chance but also keep the same system sod 2 had where you can craft attachments like makeshift, advanced and professional suppressors chokes and and muzzle breaks but dont make it to where you can craft any of the other attachments. only make it so you can craft the barrle attachments like you could in sod2.
Another thing is also don't make it so you can attach bipod or any grips onto a pistols cause obviously it doesnt have a big enough barrel to need a grip to help support the weight
I also would like to see fire engine's and military vehicles in sod 3 aswell as all the vehicles in the game already and also add in a police ford utility suv and a police dodge charger aswell as the police ford crown vic already in sod 2
The thing i'm the most excited and scared for is multiplayer, i have a few idea of what i could looks like but i cant say if it is going to meet my expectation

Honestly I would love a more complex skill system not a skill tree but just more to grind to unlock cool abilities that are great to have at harder difficulties

i would love the idea of zombie animals, also the story telling and relationships. i also hope the animation is more fluid, if you are used to call of duty this feels kinda stiff, in state of decay 2. i would also love the idea that you can have a base with a friend, now we can help but we still have our own base, i want to start one with a friend, and manage it together.

I hope they don't over do it with the multiplayer, I just hope it can also be played as a single player game much like the first two. If they do have MP, I hope we can make our own bases this time around.

Some attention to detail like Rockstar does with their single-player games would be very welcome. Bows and arrows, horses, bicycles, measured fuel, no microtransactions.
Pets and animal companions for sure. Allow players to control as if they are community members.
Days Gone has weather biomes and zombie animals, but they would be a welcome addition to SoD.
Bro if they keep the same state of decay soundtrack ima be happy like each time they have updates and tell us about them I always remember that at the end of the update notes they say keep surviving state of decay 2 survivors

Love your channel and SOD 3 updates! I’d love to be able to customize a character, their look, hair, and cloths individually.
Be able to build a base almost anywhere with better customizable options. It’d also be cool to have more people in the base, even if it’s full of NPC’s. Also better customizable vehicles.
a dynamic cause and effect system. For example if you cast out a survivor they may join another enclave and will attack your base for revenge. If your leader gets people killed then the rest of your group will turn on the leader. If you become a tyrant like Negan from TWD. Enclaves will join forces and try to take you out. If you have the love of other conclaves they will come and assist you if you’re out in the world, or will help if you’re under attack.
Larger zombie hordes that can take over your entire base if you don’t have the defense or redirect them.
Lastly, I’m good with either one gigantic map, or like it is now with multiple maps, but add a dang city for crying out loud. Could be cool if the best loot is in the city but it would be suicide to venture in there without an army because of the sheer numbers of the Undead.

All I want is a FPS mode and when I make my base I wanna make it somewhat like fallout 4s building system except less in depth and a make it a bit creative and more guns, other then that I am good I love everything about the games

Jez Corden teased the possibility of SoD 3 being at Xbox showcase and other leakers have also claimed we’ll get some sort of gameplay/trailer for it, I can definitely see it releasing in 2025
Im so hyped for State of Decay 3, Im a big Zombie game fan but Im an even bigger fan of games that are unique, that offer something different than the others and thats what I like so much about the franchise. The stories, characters, to gather resources and build your own base while fighting the Zombies.
Could you make a video about into the dead Our darkest days? I think it would fit your channel really well and I think you would like it a lot. Sins like a game that you'll be interested then.
How about first person exploration, sicknesses close to DayZ's Sickness Engine, and more ways to travel (Horse, Bicycle, ETC)
If it keeps it's state of Decay feel and aesthetic but adds the mmo survival antics without being forced to play online... we're set.
This is the best video on state of decay 3 by far! I am so hyped for this! Also in the meantime I am also looking forward to John Carpenter's toxic commando that is releasing later this year. Unfortunately may be a epic games exclusive but not sure. Either way I'll try it. Looks like something I would love if they do it well. But state of decay 3 is definitely the best and waiting patiently.
