I wanted to see a city. From the trailer I saw only nature and barely urban areas. I do hope they make different maps, like 1 with more nature, one with nature and urban areas and one big city.
Definitely disappointed. Until we get actual in-game footage showcasing what is actually different about SOD3 compared with it's predecessor, all I'm expecting to see is SOD2 but with slightly better graphics, and probably even more buggy than before.
One big thing that makes me hopeful that state of SOD3 will come 2025 is the fact it has a steam page now and the assets in the trailer are ingame assets. I got to say though I wish they gave us a better shot of the juggernaut. Also STOD2 has been have huge sales recently and makes me think Xbox it attempting to get a final push on STOD2 and my one prediction is update 36 is going to be the update for State of decay 2. If not only small bug fixes.
@@Jason-vm9cd I doubt it is going to be more buggy than before because undead labs has been under the watch of Microsoft during the entire development process. Unlike SOD2
@@waterflameee504I think the devs want the same, and why there's no release date is because the devs stated this was there biggest project so far. So there probably a bit couscous on giving a date that they won't be making true
Couldn't agree more Jay! By the way if you guys haven't SUBSCRIBED to JAY I would highly do so. He is one of the best creators I've ever seen and he makes AMAZING State of Decay Content!
I feel like the reason they didn't build off the first trailer was because they wanted to show a different perspective. The first trailer showed a lone survivor surviving in the woods with basically nothing. Then the second trailer shows 4 survivors coming together to protect one another. I feel like this indicates you can either go solo and live by your own rules or you can create a new society from scratch. Plus they might've wanted to show a different environment for the game. The first trailer showed a snowy landscape with minimal resources where everything is valuable then it shows you a more populated area with gas stations and motels and I think I saw a house. So I personally feel like undead labs are trying to show you that there will be different environments and you'll have to survive in the landscape you're in. I bet they'll show more gameplay footage down the line. This is basically getting us hyped. We need to be patient you know?
I think the 2020 trailer was an earlier concept. They might bring in infected wildlife, but I think one of the reasons we haven't gotten a release date yet is that they had to change directions with the development when the SoD2 took off again during the pandemic. And that with the renewed interest they were under pressure from Microsoft to get on peoples radar *that* year.(2020)
First game was juggernaut at wickersons. The second was being cocky and I died in Nightmare zone. also plague walls. Dumbest death was in lethal were I exiled a comunity member for space/ hey had bad traits. When they were leaving , they got stuck in a horde, died, and it still counted as them being in comunity
I'd definitely like to see body height and definition being a thing. Getting away from every character being the same height and body build. Some characters work out a hit hard or can carry more rucksacks at a time. Some are nimble and light. Making them vault over things faster. I think that would be cool
How grounded works is you have a shared world. So one person creates the world and shares it with their friends. Friends can join the shared world while the leader of the world is gone. They can add to the world and when they leave it saves. You can share the world with up to 4 people and anyone can join and add to the world without the leader being in the world. They can all join and do stuff separately and when they leave it saves. Grounded has an amazing shared world experience.
I was kind of disappointed to see that none of the features showcased in the previous announcement trailer were included! I was really hoping to see some snow and wildlife. Hopefully the game is still great though! :/
These are game footages from UE5. We saw the assets and what they look like. They ve the ressources now to upgrade the game. Of course we'll see those things.
They probably wanted to do a featurette of just a few new things that we haven't seen yet. But like the part where the car is driving down the road and you see water puddles. I think there will be changing seasons, and we'll see plenty of weather affects, animals, all that good stuff.
The biggest thing I noticed and highlighted was the map. It very much resembles Providence Ridge, which was one of the more widely positively-received maps. A lot of greenery and trees and a much more aesthetically pleasing map. Even to this day, I prefer starting new communities on a different map and role-playing that there are “rumors that the outbreak didn’t hit Providence Ridge as harshly.”; and gradually having my communities working their way to Providence Ridge. I highly speculate that one of the starting maps is Providence Ridge. My boyfriend also pointed out pointed out Mount Tanner from the first trailer. Mount Tanner is snow-capped with a lot of trees and he immediately recognized the scene as being on Mount Tanner. And he suggested that that it’s map would be probably more similar to Danforth and it’s more of a circular map but still just as big as Providence Ridge. Our predictions are that two of the first starting maps are Mount Tanner and Providence Ridge; and that future maps will expand farther out.
I picked up Providence Ridge vibes too, it literally looked like a reskinned PR. I think there's a steel bridge down by the lumber mill base, so maybe that's significant too.
I'm gonna pre-order it just like I did SoD2. The support that they put behind it after it releases is really what sells the game for me. Don't get me wrong, it looks amazing, and I know it's gonna be amazing, but the devs are even more amazing. So I can't wait to get my hands on it and see where they take it over the next five or so years.
@@brokenbracketalways wait for reviews after a studio gets bought up. Especially by a big fish like Microsoft. We have no idea what kind of impact or changes they made when they came barging in to the development. I really hope for the best, but it's entirely possible that Microsoft came in and changed everything. We've gotta see what they did.
@@76marexthat has nothing to do with the devs, if the company is going to do something like that it’s from the top. Also it’s a good thing your settlement can be as diverse as your heart desires lmao
I would like to see more options for base customization, it can be pure cosmetics or have some kind of passives for your survivors or base. And more defensive options, traps turrets. I loved the “tower defense” aspect that they implemented with SoD2 and its outposts with traps.
This! One of the biggest letdown I had with the other games. I want more customization for the base, more loot that actually have meanings for the base. Actually, Bethesda is better in this part than undeadlabs. I wanna loot a radio and use it and modify it, I wish they add fallout lootability and add it to state of decay
I am really interested to see how base building has been changed. In SOD2 there's a kind of meta figured out, so every base build is kinda the same. I really hope SOD3 has more facilities that might offer more strategies, like imagine if you could build an "artillery battery" on a large outdoor slot, and it'd let you spend a bunch of ammo (and maybe some parts) to wipe out nearby infestations, hordes, etc. within range. It'd also be cool to see more synergy between facilities; like a sniper tower provides spotting for the aforementioned artillery battery, increasing it's effective range.
Please keep all the accurate to real life guns in state of decay 3 and expand upon them. i don’t want all the guns to turn into DIY type things. one of my favorite things about state of decay 2 is all the guns and types of guns that are in that game.
Exactly, I’ve been saying the best part is the guns aren’t just some cobbled together scrap. Just because it’s an apocalypse doesn’t mean all of the guns just fell apart and rusted away
Played state of decay 2 for a long time, things that they could add to make it better - more freedom to customize bases - finding ways to follow red talon story line - find different ways to interact with in game communities other than trading and getting a follower - better bounty rewards - being able to activate more than 1 boon at a time within the same community
I noticed a few things : ~zombies no longer run and they become like walkers ~when you kill a zombie its head no longer explodes like in older state of decay games ~plague walls are back ~walkie talkie can be heard by the zombies ~new shape of screamers ~you can die very easily ~zombie animals will be rare
Oh, one huge thing in my mind is having the ability to tell a member of your community to take a vehicle you find while exploring and bring it back to base or radio back to the base the location of a vehicle and ask them to send someone to pick it up similar to how you can ask them to loot a house for you once you explore it.
Wishlist: More narrative experience (survivor romance options), realistic weather conditions, customizable survivor appearance (beards, hair, clothes, etc), a map that takes you into a ruined city (e.g. post apocalyptic Atlanta). I'd be happy to get any one of these, over the moon if we could get 2 or more
@@The_Makr_honestly, I have to agree. Like I completely respect those who want a city but I myself just could not care for it. I feel the same about character customisation too. I’d rather go out and find different people with different backgrounds and looks and fit them together rather than design them to my liking, but maybe that’s not a popular opinion in itself.
@@Boatboy_ I can kinda see the whole customization thing being similar to Watch Dog Legions, where you can change the clothes, hair, and etc but not the skin or facial structure
Next-Gen fits State of Decay 3 since the last game came out in 2018, 2 years prior to the release of the new Xbox Series X. I'm telling everybody that looked at that trailer. That's gameplay in there not a lot but just look how good it looks. This is my opion but it could be that those were actual gameplay with no HUD on. I'm guessing that animals, the bloater, the feral and other things we didn't get at this showcase are being saved for a third possibly final trailer. I don't mind waiting until 2026 if that's the case. The amount of things that they want to do is insane for 135 people working at Undead Labs even with the Coalition helping out. Not to mention but State of Decay 2 was an AA title when it released in 2018 and it seems they are upgrading to AAA title so a good triple A title needs time to cook and boy are the folks at Undead Labs cooking.
NGL, I would love to see wildlife that are infected, and are not infected. This would show us that the virus has evolved to infect others, and I would love to see how Undead Labs can expand on the lore of how the virus escaped into the world. My guess, is that it was some kind of military experiment gone wrong, but that's just my opinion. Edit: Overall I'm excited to see what SOD 3 has to offer. :D
Untethered needs to happen imo, it's what is missing from SoD2. Being able to play with a friend, but loot different towns at the same time, and meet back at the base. Or if one of your buddies gets in trouble, you need to haul ass to the next town to save them.
I was waiting to hear they were focusing on multiplayer which could be done similar to the war game Foxhole. Players get to work together on server maps which get reset like every month or whatever suits the game best.
They are working with Obsidian who made grounded for the multi-player aspects. This was my one and only wish for SOD3. It's a 4 player shared world where you share the save file with 3 friends. And can all access the saved game at any time picking up where the last player left off!!
I still want 5 things: 1-zombie snakes 2-City map(s) 3-Weather effects that change the dynamics of how you play and how zombies react 4-Smarter A.I for both zombies & community members 5-when your character is in trouble the song: flesh eating zombies plays like in SOD 1 😎
imagine the weather system, its pouring rain and you are running from a horde through a field/muddy field because it has been raining , you player getting slowed in the mud because of it.....the nightmares lol
That’s a pretty stupid suggestion. Have u seen that in other games before? Do you think they should take hundreds of hours away from other game elements to do that? Really put some thought into that for a second.
@@KizzMyAbs "hundreds of hours away from other game elements" it is literally a small implementation. but i guess a guy who's name is kiss my abs knows everything.
I think the BIGGEST thing I was disappointed with is the lack of animals, normal, or zombies. The #1 highlight from the original trailer in my opinion was the wolf, and later, likely that same wolf, getting eaten by a zombified dear. Zombified animals is something we really haven't seen much in any zombie game. The only one I can really think of is 7 Days to Die. If they put a greater emphasis into that feature, I think it could seriously be something that makes State of Decay 3 stand out even more amongst competition on top of the strong emphasis on community. The lack of any mention of animals on either the trailer or the interview has me worried that maybe the whole idea got scrapped. That would be a HUGE blow to my hype for the game unfortunately. Whats more, is that animals and wildlife could open up so many more avenues of world development. Say you could capture cows for milking or slaughtering for food, chickens for eggs and food, horses for riding and travel when gas is running low. If what UDL said is true and that supplies in the world are truly running low, things like this might be the few ways of actually aquiring food. And with gas for vehicles being a hot commodity, riding horses to travel might be the only way to get around the map if vehicles are becoming harder to get your hands on or maintain with fuel. There's just so much they can do with the inclusion of wildlife. Hopefully the idea is still on the table.
Everyone please like this.. To be a classic game they should implement more character moves/fatalities that do more hand to hand combat dismembering depending on the weapon/no weapon, to make zombie engagement more fulfilling and fun.. Example if u have a knife, sword, saw, bat or no weapon they do different dismembering or bone breaking moves... PUT online CO-OP team work type moves(hand to hand and shooting from the vehicles) that makes team work very FUN. Implement Example: building bonds with different characters that increase bond levels that unlock new teamwork moves unique to those characters. Also in online co-op allow you to save any items/vehicles u earn. Also improve the running/stamina system and keep running zombies.
It's funny that if one wants the 'classic' zombie experience it becomes more rare as they turn every zombie game into dark souls. Far Cry 5 Zombie DLC still remains faithful - hilarious considering it's a Far Cry game.
@@terrylandess6072 you know you are talking about Ubisoft Montreal, and we’re talking about Obsidian, you know, the guys behind Pillars of Eternity, Fallout New Vegas… They never did Far Cry, that’s Ubisoft…… you’re really confused
Wishlist: memorials for the characters, I want to be able to see how the characters die and their best moments, or see how many zombies that character killed, etc.
Just found your channel with this video, recently got back into State of Decay 2! Glad to see someone break it down like this, you got my sub for sure.
I really want a large city map with explorable skyscrapers and lots of overgrowth on the buildings. And i really hope for animals to hunt, and zombie animals. A pet dog would be sick. New enemy types. Honestly a first person mode would be awesome. I'm excited about the possibility of advance weapon customizing, it would cool to have different barrel sizes, that would effect velocity, and different muzzles, and different scopes, and different buttstocks. All effecting the gun. Dead space 3 actually had a really cool weapon customization system.
I feel the exact same way..... I literally don't want to see a trailer for a game that's not coming out. Until years later, that is ridiculous. What happened to showcase in a game? And then the next 2 to 3 months it drops.
Usually good games give a trailer and not very much on a release date. Just look at one of the best franchises in gaming history Rockstar and you will see what I mean. They have like 7 - 10 years in between games and their games always slap. Patience is a virtue.
I wouldn’t mind it coming out in 2026, it would be very sentimental for me since that’s my graduation year and I’ve been playing this franchise before I even started school
I want to point out that in the "gameplay sections", especially where the lady is shooting the zombies with a pistol, you can see that the camera perspective stays still, but her shooting trajectory changes as she shoots zombies in multiple directions even though the camera perspective isn't moving. I think that those "gameplay" sequences are just cinematic sequences modeled to look like gameplay. The same goes for the lady with the sniper, she shot off to an angle and not at the centre of the screen. From a gameplay perspective, surely the camera view must instead be locked to where you are aiming.
I hope the game will stay fully sandbox without some kind of main story. A main story which you´d have to repeat with every community for the hundredth time would just kill the replayability of the game. The uniqueness of every community, the survivors and their own stories, is what makes State of Decay endlessly replayable without getting boring. This is what makes State of Decay one of the best games imo.
The multi-player from Grounded is a great way to do it. It works by one person creating the world and sharing the save file with everyone they invite. This way, the first person to log into that world acts as the host. When the last person logs out of that world, the save file for it is update to reflect all the changes made. So, all members will always have all the same updates/changes. It's a good system and one that I think will be perfect for SoD3.
One thing I never seen anyone mention in these videos, which I hope happens, is more focus on injuries and medicine. This is type of world, avoiding inquires should be a priority and having people with the necessary skills to help fix/repair different types of injuries should be more important. Not just, lay on this cot for a day and you're fine. I want to see specific body part injuries, and each type to have a different affect on your character. - Example A, you sprain your ankle. You now have limited mobility, can't climb/run for X amount of time. - Example B, you break your right arm. You can no longer use weapons that require both arms/hands for X amount of time. I'd also like to see different types of wounds that cause different levels of bleeding ranging from a minor cut that maybe you need to find antibiotics for so it doesn't cause and infection to a severe laceration that requires immediate medical care or you could potentially die. If you're going to make the world more dark/gritty and give the game a more serious tone, things like would not only amplify the danger and risk, but also put more emphasis on tactics and choosing when to engage and when to avoid certain scenarios. Outside of getting overwhelmed in STOD2, you never really felt scared to venture out into the world because healing from injuries was so simple and easy.
I've been playing state of decay since it came out on xbox arcade. I will say that you're sort of seeing the evolution in SoD 2 atm in all the added features. Even SoD 1 to sod 2. From black fever to the blood plague. From the blood plague to plague walls. Its behaving more like a bioweapon, evolving to combat the humans that are adapting to it and coming up with more and more inventive ways to fight it. CLEO has been key in combating the zombie threat, so now the plague is starting to be able to affect mechanical things. Excited to see SOD 3 more
RE: DEI detected *sigh* After multiple years I finally have some more time to direct towards gaming and just the other day I discovered 'State of Decay 2'. Seeing that there now already is talk of a number 3, got me excited and so I checked it out on Steam ... and ... to my horror ... the curator I'm a member off indicated it has the taint of DEI. 12:23 And of course the rainbow flag / woke mindvirus had to be present. *sigh* With people like Zoe Quinn working on it with DEI in mind + what we see in this trailer ... I have no doubt we'll see The Message infesting the game sucking the fun out of what should have been great escapism. Mark my words ... we will see pronouns in the character bios and male models acting female and vice versa to show "inclusivity". I hope the developers have learned from the recent lash backs by gamers and the many studio closings. The "inclusivity" can be there for someone who wants it ... but I don't want to see any of that ideology in my personal experience of the game being forced down my throat. Sure it can be something random in a side story or a remote background character or an option for someone who wants to make such a character ... but if it's treated like the norm, shoved in your face, mandatory "content" and with forced writing to attempt and justify it ... the developers will shoot themselves in the foot! E.g. I loved 'Guild Wars' and despite not liking how they treated the Ascalonian ghosts and Ascalonians in general in 'Guild Wars 2' I enjoyed it. Until in the height of DEI they released Cantha and ... managed to make what should have been a glorious revisit of the vibrant Asian world into a super lackluster and crappy story with very dead looking and uninspired cities with Kaineng city taking the cake! The cities in the old game felt alive for their time ... and now it was such a horrible texture nightmare with very very very few citizens; nothing like the lively city Divinities Reach. Yet ... they found time to have a male character model be voiced be a woman and have him emphasis multiple times for no reason that he's trans and crammed The Message into a crappy 'secondary objective' mission that literally is 'talk to the npcs to hear them spout their badly written dialogue with the only goal of emphasizing "we're gay" and "we're trans"'. They didn't add anything to the story, had no value within the setting, are irrelevant afterwards, ... it was 20 minutes time wasted utterly wasted. Together with the butchering of the entire Cantha continent into theme park nonsense, totally screwing up the beautiful Asian designs in favour of horrible looking modern neon tech, a stupid main story where literally every woman is good even the ones who are supposed to be the villains, ... . And ... 'world vs world' still didn't get any love while it was the main driving force of game mode for many fans, me included. Never logged in again after that shit show AND I was a daily active WVW commander and guild officer! And most of the guild also stopped playing at that time because of the same reasons. WvW never got updates and extras in years, was full of bugs and exploits, ... and ... instead of fixing that, they spend time making the story world worse with DEI!!! ---- 'State of Decay 3' apparently focusses on single player and 4 person co-op ... I truly hope when it releases the reviews aren't full of the woke nonsense ... else I won't be buying it. The signs I've already seen, have prevented me from buying it when it launches. If it turns out to be like 'Kill the Justice league' ... they won't see a sale from me.
I want more control over my customization of vehicles and weapons and clothing. I don't want to just click a button and it magically transforms the vehicle into a preset design. Vehicles: - Tire options - Suspension options - Armor plating options - Engine Upgrades - Fuel Upgrades - Storage Upgrades - Additional weapon options (like spikes/blades, turrets, etc.) I'd also like to see within that vehicle customization, forcing players to make choices between different things like for example if you choose more storage you have sacrifice how much armor you can put on the vehicle due to weight limitations.
Id love to see a relationship type aspect in the game, not necessarily romance but close friends wanting/offering to accompany you on missions or having the classic "together from the start" situation where they wont leave eachothers side UGHHH IM SO EXITEDDD
I'm very excited for SoD3. I have been playing SoD2 since Day 1 release. What I most would like to see is an update to our Legacy Pool, which has some impact to our games. I want there to be a "memory" of my characters that have played and survived a playthrough together. I want there to be some type of moral or trust bonus for that relationship that they built. I make stories up during my playthroughs, and I want it to be carried over to future playthroughs if that makes sense?
I hope that the multiplayer doesnt have the tether feature and allows people to venture out on their own. I would also like to see a multiplayer system allow players to have separate communities, to either trade or fight
HUGE MAP FOR MULTIPLAYER AND LONGEVITY. I feel with the announcement that multiplayer will work like shared worlds in grounded I hope the map is massive and each player has the option to be their own community all in one map. Weather, relationships, motorcycles or other vehicle types including military vehicles, the ability to build outpost like they are many bases and stations survivors at them, and finally might seem a little extreme but if they make longevity a focus which is a VERY important thing I think they should add some form of time passing such as aging and even children. 1 - Massive Map Size/City/interconnected maps 2 - Longevity/passing of time done better/more content 3 - better bases, outpost, and enclaves 4 - Relationships and character focus/ attachments 5 - Weather 6 - Better Loot System 7 - Moar Zombies/types 8 - Better Difficulty scaling( Realistic things made harder or it gets harder faster as time progresses, no car breaking faster, no single survivor needing 6 food in an apocalypse) 9 - Better and more vehicles 10 - Multiplayer has the option for players to have their own separate communities in the shared worlds and can have a good diplomacy system between the players and enclaves (Big want very unlikely) Scaled Needs to wants. I know it says keep ideas short but I made this list for overall community input I’ve seen across social media
The speed at which the Zombie infestation occurs is the measuring stick for how many supplies would be left. If it is quick, creating areas unsafe - then there would obviously be many supplies sitting around. If slow, giving people a chance to forage among dwindling numbers, you could conceivably get several -television--seasons- years of possible supplies before foraging becomes useless.
I really hope they elaborate on the characters. I just play SOD2 for the interpersonal relationships and fun little rp options/dialogue, because as a zombie game that’s what makes this one unique. So the idea of possible ideologies would be so fun. It is also so nice that they’re keeping up a timeline with the zeds.
Amazing video! Here's my take. I get the community vibes, the value each member brings to the community, the relationships being formed. The group dynamics appears to be the foundation the devs are focusing on; narrations, backstory and whatnot. Take it a step further? Comments on this thread mentioned customization whether attire, base-build or facial futures. I would suggest facial adaptation from the real world. Why not mirror your actual face to that of your chosen character? Wouldn't that be awesome. A lot of "something" could come from that modification alone. Probably next level VR but without the bulky headstrap. Just imagine your face looking at a horde? Ohhh man, what a sight. But that's just me. 😁😄
Having played Grounded's co-op it's more than that. You literally share a save across the participants computers. It is very similar to a dedicated server without being online/live when no one is on the game.
I wish we could have freak variety even in the higher difficulties. I understand the ramp up in difficulty in Lethal, but it would add a lot of variety to it if we had the non-blood plague versions also roaming around. Maybe they could be more numerous so as to keep the challenge high...
If Helldivers 2 can have weather (sand storm, tornados, blizzard etc), vegetation, water, tons of mobs and 4 players and is built on an old engine that is not commercially available anymore. I don't see why SoD3 cannot have the same or better if its using UE5.
An idea I have for this game would be that there is proximity chat for talking to your friends (meaning their force becomes quieter or louder depending where you are) but when you are far enough away from each other, you can contact your friend through your radio accompanied with a static overlay to add a nice tidbit of immersion inside the game.
i just realized that when the screamer was shot in the head the entire head didn't just explode like sod1 and 2, only a chunk was blown away, I'm so unbelievably excited for sod3
I hope we have a dense and different environment like in the trailer with loads of trees, maybe snowy areas, they could interpret mountains, u could have a base uk their with less zombies but also less loot which introduces a high risk high rewards scenario
I got gigi and diesel probably a year after this state of decay 2 game came out and I’ve brought them in on a couple play throughs but them being my two favorite characters. I had them since before you could have a pistol and a rifle on your person to switch to I really just keep them in the character pool. I hope the next state of decay has base building like boarding up windows on your main base and on outposts. I hope there’s fishing and hunting. I’m super hyped. I also hope we can upgrade more than just muzzle attachments.
I think a relationship system with other survivors would be pretty cool to see, like certain dialogue with NPC’s and maybe the more you take them out for runs the closer your character gets with them.
Wishlist: _Please_ fix the lighting for night time in state of decay 3 because in SoD2 it is too dark and adjusting my gamma doesn’t help much *or* upgrade the flashlight to be brighter/reach farther. Speaking of flashlights maybe have the option to craft a flashlight from the default one to a handheld flashlight that you can hold with your left hand or one that you can attach to your head (hat/headband) idk just some more variety. Another cool but silly flashlight option would be to change the color of the light like in Fallout 4 you can customize the flashlight color. Personally this would help me set the mood to roleplay. The daytime lighting is perfect to me especially the natural lighting indoors so no change there. I saw in the video that someone suggested “tripping up” maybe stumbling a bit after climbing a fence with no stamina. I’d suggest randomly tripping when sprinting with no stamina but I think that’s too cruel. More random stories about people’s lives you find in various containers. Side note: I would not be mad if they allowed ferals to climb vehicles since it would add to the thrill of the dangers in state of decay but I will be sad when I have to watch one of my survivors die to a feral because I couldn’t cheese them on the roof of a car.
@SunnyGames . In regards.to the 1st trailer.. you mentioned an online persistant world. Ok what if what was goinb on in the snow up in the mountains was going on so to speak at the same time as the new trailer in the lowlands. And the weather it makes total sense high up innthe hills is the snow and its all.mistu and rainy down low on road ..Dude . Great video. As you can tell im more than hyped. I got a lot of thoughs om putting into a vid soon.
The shrine with all the different items, if it is indicative of an actual in-game building or community lot, makes me think the narrative structures will be built heavily around the sandbox similar to 2’s Campaign, but maybe without (or just with a longer to achieve) victory condition that ends the survival. Maybe it will be focused on beating back the plague similar to the Hearts in 2, but either way, the shrine makes me think the game will take place over a longer period to facilitate the individual survivors’ stories and possible losses, if they really are going to have more of an impact.
With coop are you able to create different communities with friends on the same map? Example: one of your buds make a brand new community on the northern part of the map, and then you have your community on the southern or western side of the map, creating a strong faction of allies to fight down plaque hearts and enemy communities. I'm hyped for this game.
Things I’d love to see in SoD3: More dynamic dialogue between characters - After beating the game a few times, you know what they’re going to say before they even say it. More dynamic personal quest lines - it’s like everybody in the apocalypse has an prepper aunt with jeep and a high capacity .22 Larger communities / city building - Recruiting non playable characters to preform background tasks could liven up base a bit, with the treatment of these characters dependent on the leadership style (builder, trader, sheriff, warlord) Random human NPC encounters - Friendly, neutral, or hostile random encounters would give a lot of life and tension to the world, if they’re different enough to not all feel the same. Following the sound of gunshots and finding someone fighting off a horde from the roof of a car like in the trailer or two groups fighting it out would be really cool, but should still be a rare RNG roll. Another story mode like Trumbull Valley had!! - They did a great job with this, I’d like to see it again Kill off Lilly Ritter - I find her voice to be very annoying and too upbeat for the State of Decay universe Pin this comment so the devs can see!!
Im excited for when sod3 comes out, really hope it feels like an extremely improved version of sod2 mixed with days gone. Also hope to see old maps come back to in a real apocalypse look, i hope itll be amazing Also, i hope the survivor bodies stay longer or dont despawn, itd also be cool if some if not all bodies will stay and decompose over time, leaving just bits of meat and bones, also hope that maybe you could get legacy members from sod2 to sod3, having some survivors would be sweet. Last thing, i hope they expand on cosmetics, gas masks, glasses, customizable hairstyles, face paint, select pants, shoes, shirts, hats, jackets, and everything. And i hope theres maybe some character customization, not a whole bunch, but some more uniqueness for some of them, and facial hair too, we need facial hair
Wishlist 2024: *I do hope SOD3 will have lots more end-game content (high risk and high reward loot at the very end-game. Military vehicles and gear, soldiers and buildings). *Thematic theme on headquarter (if player chooses to play evil, how about home will have heads on spikes, cages and other "evil" looking things, while a good doing player can choose more of a chivalric layout?) *More options for the survivors to be sent on scavenging runs on their own while player is bussy elsewhere. Also send them to outposts to guard. *More options for player on a scaveningrun, like turn off radio so player wont be masses with radio messages, have any survivor companying to be of more use and to be given orders (Like tell them to help search a house, or drive a car or fets something, etc). *I'd also like to see the player be able to go out as a squad (think how cool it would be with the squad system from Ghost Recon Wildlands?). *More expanded crafting system and more attachments for each weapon (look at Modern Warfare for some cool weapon attachments). *Evolving and procedural generated missions: Dont just have missions go from A to B, ask what would happen if player failed to reach B, could there be a possible C? And way MORE missions, it felt like I had to redo every mission each time I started a new game in SOD2. Would make it more interesting if there is new missions to be done each time you restart a new playthrough. *Evolving map: If there is a big roadblock on the road between two cities, why cant player send out a squad of survivors to have it cleared? (or why not be able to set up a roadblock to make roaming warbands have to take a detour?). If a dam is blown, then have that dam blown for the rest of the game and the water change how the map looks. *And most important of all. Have option to get a waaaay larger community of survivors for the base (ofcourse the more the harder to get food and keep everyone happy), with option to expand and build ALL the options for said base (I really HATE how I cant have each of every room in even the largest of bases in SOD2. Late game should really allow me to finetune the base to allow all options) Sorry for the long list, but I had to let it all out :D
A cool thing would be clans so your friends will be apart of your community not literally but it will be like your other members will actually acknowledge them, such as saying their leaders name like I wonder what Jim is doing right now or something like that
I started playing the first SOD for the first time a few weeks ago and realized for SOD2 they re used a lot of assets and carried the same exact soundtrack over NOW my point im trying to make is I saw a lot of the same assets for SOD3 in that trailer. I don’t mind having the same assets from previous games placed in SOD3 but I’m reallyyy HOPING that they really they open their minds and expand how it looks and feels.
@@user-zg5ey5xo9iI don’t think so, what makes you think that. For me woke woke crap would be the new Star Wars movies or even TLOU, yea changing everyone’s skin tone from what there original skin tone was is just woke and pure PC. I really hope you end up liking SOD3 it looks solid!
@@IsaiahGuerrieri Look at the trailer, the only white guy in it is the one that gets mauled to by zombies. And it was already like that in the second one. There wasn't one white man that wasn't either old or looked like an inbred basement dweller. But looking at the developers that's no surprise.
@@user-zg5ey5xo9i I personally don’t see color. I did rewatch the trailer. I do see what you mean, but I can’t really see that affecting the game. The only thing that would affect the game in my opinion would be that dynamic on how people interact with each other. The last two games were completely over-the-top with how friendly people were to each other even with bandits; they were still too friendly to a certain degree, which makes no sense considering dead people are walking around, and people should be losing their minds. I’m hoping this one is more of like the last of us were people where people are reallyyy struggling to survive. If I hear “ hey neighbor, why don’t you come right in” one more time or “hey hun always great to see ya” 🙄🙄🙄.
I just can’t wait for SOD3 🎉. I absolutely hope you can build coop communities. My brother and I play this religiously and would definitely build one together
I've been saying this forever !!!! Let us create a character I feel like you get more attached to a character u start from the bottom with with no stats or characteristics
One thing I want to see is siphoning, the idea of running out of gas in the middle of nowhere and having to siphon old vehicles would be awesome. Also adding into that would be treating old gas with chemicals found within the world to make it useful again as in real life gas can’t be used years down the line after sitting, so having a setup in which you can reuse it for vehicles or other systems would be amazing. Having a mod or a build be put into the base to have that process happen. Or even allow the base to make chemicals to just bring along and cleanse the siphoned gas would be exciting too!
Finally, been waiting on you're vid. Thanks for the breakdown. Plague heart mist in the scene with the mentioned puddles. Also I'm sure the 2 way radio is the survivor network built by Lili Ritter in game 1. Plague pustule near the van has me interested. Looks like plague walls are back too. Gunslinger perk of the woman on top of the van. 4 player, untethered, drop in drop out co op on a persistent world is dope. So to me, the fact that you cant tell when the cinematics end and the gameplay begins, tells me this may be more of a in game trailer then we think. They where focusing on cinematics more right? I actually think the game will look, play and tell stories closely to how it was showcased in the trailer, just without the narration and scene cutaways. The gunfight gameplay looked awkward, maybe the over the shoulder angle was adjusted slightly to showcase it better? Idk. For all we know, this trailer was a mission right out of the game being showcased. THAT has me excited!!!
It wasn't just some little plushie.... it was Hippo Thomas. If you played through the side stories in the new Trumbull Valley map of SoD2, you'd know what it was important, and why the character made an effort to get it before anything else.
Wish list. Larger bases think walking dead levels. Include sieges like you see in that series. Imagine something like whisperers or Neigan fights. Wow that would be amazing
Would be cool if they actually added a way to remember dead survivors other than an unmarked grave in the community tab, like a certain item they had or just a permanent description of what they did
The fact that the first trailer was done and complete snow and then to show the second trailer cinematic trailer at that and to not have not near drop of snow inside is kind of depressing
The first trailer was actually just that - a trailer as the game hadn't even been nothing but a concept at that time (SOD3) so there were questions if snow would even be part of SOD3 and do we know if it is or not yet?
I love the idea of adding animals into the game, similar to RD2 that you can hunt for food, some that you can train to be a pet/companion and some that have gone feral that pose a threat as you're exploring.
i already use the shotgun and took out the zed legs in sod2, it's a strategy when u are surounded by a large group of zed, criple them but don't kill them so they wouldn't spawn more. i either used the shotgun to chop their legs off or use the sword play special move to cut their legs off and there would be around 20 crippled zeds crawling around and they won't spawn more.
It would be cool if it was kinda like dead riding where you could just pick stuff up from the environment and make things or just use them to attack instead of just searching through a cabinet or shelf
If anyone has ever seen the TV show Revolution I really hope gunplay and world feel similar like bullets are antique/rare to find only your best characters carry them as last minute resorts otherwise you stick to cross bows and melee weapons
I'm really hoping that's state of Decay 3 Is not online? I hope they have a single player offline mode. I'm getting really tired of sing games with online all the time and freaking microtransactions
What was your biggest takeaway from this Trailer? Are you excited or disappointed by what you saw? And what are you hoping to see in State Of Decay 3?
Unlike SOD2
Actual gameplay and a release date. Until then this all means nothing.
The no release window is definitely a downer, but the last thing we want is a rushed game, I’m excited just hope we don’t have to wait too long 🤞🏻
i just hope of seeing a good, time worth polished game and in general - an upgrade from sod2
@@waterflameee504yeah because sod2 was buggy asf on launch day
@@waterflameee504I think the devs want the same, and why there's no release date is because the devs stated this was there biggest project so far. So there probably a bit couscous on giving a date that they won't be making true
They need to stop showing things then if its that far from ready quit showing it
Couldn't agree more Jay!
I didn’t think about that
I wonder if they are showing each different season in a seperate trailer enabling us to connect the dots later idk
I think the 2020 trailer was an earlier concept. They might bring in infected wildlife, but I think one of the reasons we haven't gotten a release date yet is that they had to change directions with the development when the SoD2 took off again during the pandemic. And that with the renewed interest they were under pressure from Microsoft to get on peoples radar *that* year.(2020)
@@evilwookiee7655
The first one was a concept trailer they didn't want to make (and it wasn't even them who made it)
Average indie dev

My first death in State of Decay was the Juggernaut ripping me in half
i don't remember my first death in sod2 too well, but if i had to guess i got ripped by a juggernaut too
First game was juggernaut at wickersons. The second was being cocky and I died in Nightmare zone. also plague walls. Dumbest death was in lethal were I exiled a comunity member for space/ hey had bad traits. When they were leaving , they got stuck in a horde, died, and it still counted as them being in comunity
My first death was a feral with the army dude from the tutorial
Mine was the feral
same
I'd definitely like to see body height and definition being a thing. Getting away from every character being the same height and body build.
Some characters work out a hit hard or can carry more rucksacks at a time. Some are nimble and light. Making them vault over things faster. I think that would be cool
That sounds good. Like making survivor traits sort of affect the appearance essentially to make it make sense.
Grounded is a great game
Grounded shared world should be the staple for this games coop
That ladys got gunslinging
I was kind of disappointed to see that none of the features showcased in the previous announcement trailer were included! I was really hoping to see some snow and wildlife. Hopefully the game is still great though! :/
Wouldn’t be surprised if it got scrapped 😅
Bruh that’s a cgi trailer it ain’t real.
These are game footages from UE5. We saw the assets and what they look like. They ve the ressources now to upgrade the game. Of course we'll see those things.
They had a hiring for character artist and they emphasized animal creation
They probably wanted to do a featurette of just a few new things that we haven't seen yet. But like the part where the car is driving down the road and you see water puddles. I think there will be changing seasons, and we'll see plenty of weather affects, animals, all that good stuff.
One on my biggest hopes is that co-op is a real community builder because that just sounds so much fun with friends.
No matter what I'm buying this game the people who make this game seems to make games they want to play and care about their work and the community.
I'm gonna pre-order it just like I did SoD2. The support that they put behind it after it releases is really what sells the game for me. Don't get me wrong, it looks amazing, and I know it's gonna be amazing, but the devs are even more amazing. So I can't wait to get my hands on it and see where they take it over the next five or so years.
they care for high ESG scores
@@brokenbracketalways wait for reviews after a studio gets bought up. Especially by a big fish like Microsoft. We have no idea what kind of impact or changes they made when they came barging in to the development. Hahahaha yup me too
More unique zombie variants would be really cool. Zombie bear would be terrifying.
They done that in a game called days gone
I will be 50 years old when this release. I will be taking vacation time for sure. Can not wait to see this.
I would like to see more options for base customization, it can be pure cosmetics or have some kind of passives for your survivors or base. And more defensive options, traps turrets. I loved the “tower defense” aspect that they implemented with SoD2 and its outposts with traps.
I never considered that maybe people today no longer say 'walkie talkie'. Man I feel left out by the times.
2 way radio perhaps?
No real need for them with cell phones, unless you live in a no zone area.
I wanna build my own base wherever whenever i want to, no matter the size big or small. I'd also like to see a sewer
This! One of the biggest letdown I had with the other games. I want more customization for the base, more loot that actually have meanings for the base. Actually, Bethesda is better in this part than undeadlabs. I wanna loot a radio and use it and modify it, I wish they add fallout lootability and add it to state of decay
You don't want that.
PSH. Who says the devs read the comments? 😜

@@deRangutang hey! you congrats !looking nice can't wait!
Played state of decay 2 for a long time, things that they could add to make it better
- more freedom to customize bases
- finding ways to follow red talon story line
- find different ways to interact with in game communities other than trading and getting a follower
- better bounty rewards
- being able to activate more than 1 boon at a time within the same community
I noticed a few things :
~zombies no longer run and they become like walkers
~when you kill a zombie its head no longer explodes like in older state of decay games
~plague walls are back
~walkie talkie can be heard by the zombies
~new shape of screamers
~you can die very easily
~zombie animals will be rare
I think zombie animals will be replacing ferals. It at least feels like a more natural way to implement ferals.
I'd be happy to get any one of these, over the moon if we could get 2 or more
People always say city map, but they are even scared to go to Marshall lol... That's such and overrated request.
Dont forget a lone wolf mode too!
@@gachacell3895 that makes a lot of sense to be fair, as those would realistically be things you could change.
When you talk about the rain on the water, in the top right it looks like a area affected by a heart or at least one that's on fire
The cinematic trailer had a zombified deer so maybe
I’m just saying, it’d be cool to see the virus evolve, and maybe we would get proper clarification to what caused the virus to spread.
We've been patiently waiting for your vídeo man. And totally worth the wait. The best on this thing. Thanks Sunny!
I still want 5 things:
1-zombie snakes
2-City map(s)
3-Weather effects that change the dynamics of how you play and how zombies react
4-Smarter A.I for both zombies & community members
5-when your character is in trouble the song: flesh eating zombies plays like in SOD 1 😎
imagine the weather system, its pouring rain and you are running from a horde through a field/muddy field because it has been raining , you player getting slowed in the mud because of it.....the nightmares lol
@@PedroBob that’s right baby 😉
20:39 see that red orangish circle right there?
It could be a bomb thing like if you touch it, it will explode like a bloater.

*Why i've waited for 4 years for this they should atleast give us a release date not another cinematic trailer*
I feel the exact same way..... I literally don't want to see a trailer for a game that's not coming out. Until years later, that is ridiculous. What happened to showcase in a game? And then the next 2 to 3 months it drops.
While I understand, giving a release date might pressure the team to work faster and result in a rushed buggy mess imo

im frankly curios as to what red talon has been up too this whole time, if they are still around or were destroyed after SOD-2
No way they're not, they're an important part to the story and gameplay akin to the enclave/BoS from fallout
Me too!
One thing of note is cleo abandoned them
That would kind of suck if red talon was destroyed lol.
Yup. Definitely not gameplay.
I'm pretty sure that's just the gunslinging skill in action. I would love it to be automated like that.
that might to gunslinging. That looks miles better than the weird aim-bot-snap thingy we have right now.

I just checked out the new Trailer finally. And now I'm here to your video looking to hear more until I get my fix with SoD3....still playing SoD².
I hope the game will stay fully sandbox without some kind of main story. A main story which you´d have to repeat with every community for the hundredth time would just kill the replayability of the game. The uniqueness of every community, the survivors and their own stories, is what makes State of Decay endlessly replayable without getting boring. This is what makes State of Decay one of the best games imo.
there should be an overarching goal though. Otherwise, what the point.
A sod map covered in snow would be a really fun environment to play in as your foot steps would be louder making sneaking harder
Helicopters,Hunting,machine guns, more military equipment
I've been playing state of decay since it came out on xbox arcade. I will say that you're sort of seeing the evolution in SoD 2 atm in all the added features. Even SoD 1 to sod 2. From black fever to the blood plague. From the blood plague to plague walls. Its behaving more like a bioweapon, evolving to combat the humans that are adapting to it and coming up with more and more inventive ways to fight it. CLEO has been key in combating the zombie threat, so now the plague is starting to be able to affect mechanical things. Excited to see SOD 3 more
RE: DEI detected *sigh*
After multiple years I finally have some more time to direct towards gaming and just the other day I discovered 'State of Decay 2'.
Seeing that there now already is talk of a number 3, got me excited and so I checked it out on Steam ... and ... to my horror ... the curator I'm a member off indicated it has the taint of DEI.
12:23
And of course the rainbow flag / woke mindvirus had to be present. *sigh*
With people like Zoe Quinn working on it with DEI in mind + what we see in this trailer ...
----
'State of Decay 3' apparently focusses on single player and 4 person co-op ...
Vehicles:
- Tire options
- Suspension options
- Armor plating options
- Engine Upgrades
- Fuel Upgrades
- Storage Upgrades
- Additional weapon options (like spikes/blades, turrets, etc.)
I'd also like to see within that vehicle customization, forcing players to make choices between different things like for example if you choose more storage you have sacrifice how much armor you can put on the vehicle due to weight limitations.
get the community vibes, the value each member brings to the community, the relationships being formed. 😁😄
Im really hoping for a lone wolf mode where we can just try and survive with one survivor.
I hope we have a dense and different environment like in the trailer with loads of trees, maybe snowy areas, they could interpret mountains, u could have a base uk their with less zombies but also less loot which introduces a high risk high rewards scenario
dawg when the narrator was saying who where you, who did you love, it was the in game characters thoughts before killing the standing still zombie
Wishlist:
_Please_ fix the lighting for night time in state of decay 3 because in SoD2 it is too dark and adjusting my gamma doesn’t help much *or* upgrade the flashlight to be brighter/reach farther.
Well, they're gonna fix the first one in a SoD2 update soon
An even more evolved feral is both amazing and my worst nightmare
Things I’d love to see in SoD3:
More dynamic dialogue between characters - After beating the game a few times, you know what they’re going to say before they even say it.
More dynamic personal quest lines - it’s like everybody in the apocalypse has an prepper aunt with jeep and a high capacity .22
Larger communities / city building - Recruiting non playable characters to preform background tasks could liven up base a bit, with the treatment of these characters dependent on the leadership style (builder, trader, sheriff, warlord)
Random human NPC encounters - Friendly, neutral, or hostile random encounters would give a lot of life and tension to the world, if they’re different enough to not all feel the same. Following the sound of gunshots and finding someone fighting off a horde from the roof of a car like in the trailer or two groups fighting it out would be really cool, but should still be a rare RNG roll.
Another story mode like Trumbull Valley had!! - They did a great job with this, I’d like to see it again
Kill off Lilly Ritter - I find her voice to be very annoying and too upbeat for the State of Decay universe
Pin this comment so the devs can see!!
What I like to see in the State of Decay 3 is a different look on Trumbull Valley too see how much time progressed
Im excited for when sod3 comes out, really hope it feels like an extremely improved version of sod2 mixed with days gone. Also hope to see old maps come back to in a real apocalypse look, i hope itll be amazing
Also, i hope the survivor bodies stay longer or dont despawn, itd also be cool if some if not all bodies will stay and decompose over time, leaving just bits of meat and bones, also hope that maybe you could get legacy members from sod2 to sod3, having some survivors would be sweet.
Wishlist 2024:
*I do hope SOD3 will have lots more end-game content (high risk and high reward loot at the very end-game. Military vehicles and gear, soldiers and buildings).
*Thematic theme on headquarter (if player chooses to play evil, how about home will have heads on spikes, cages and other "evil" looking things, while a good doing player can choose more of a chivalric layout?)
*More options for the survivors to be sent on scavenging runs on their own while player is bussy elsewhere.
Late game should really allow me to finetune the base to allow all options)
Sorry for the long list, but I had to let it all out :D
Thank you my brother I was waiting patiently for you to drop us a breakdown of the SoD3 trailer! Tbh I know that was basically another teaser!
Will be woke crap.
Just hints towards diverse environments so you shouldn't be all sad lll
Could just mean seasons which would be cool
It means different maps. Goodness you’re dumb.
The first trailer was actually just that - a trailer as the game hadn't even been nothing but a concept at that time (SOD3) so there were questions if snow would even be part of SOD3 and do we know if it is or not yet?
I love the idea of adding animals into the game, similar to RD2 that you can hunt for food, some that you can train to be a pet/companion and some that have gone feral that pose a threat as you're exploring.
the waiting is going to turn my mind in a state of decay!
i already use the shotgun and took out the zed legs in sod2, it's a strategy when u are surounded by a large group of zed, criple them but don't kill them so they wouldn't spawn more. i either used the shotgun to chop their legs off or use the sword play special move to cut their legs off and there would be around 20 crippled zeds crawling around and they won't spawn more.
Not likely this will happen unfortunately; it's just the way everything is now (always connected)
There will likely be singleplayer offline, that's always been a big thing with state of decay
No worries it'll have a single player mod always does
It’s already been confirmed by one of the devs that there will be single player
