      Hahaha that's hilarious - I'm sorry about that Christopher! In one of my less genius moments, I played back the video while editing & felt like I was talking WAAAY too slow, so I sped it up 10%. Now I know: I'm just in my own head too much.

    Wait.... Someone put this on youtube and isn't charging 45$ for information?? Dude you are an absolute legend and deserve all the good that comes your way. I cannot express how helpful this is. I have been looking for a guide that breaks down what a pitch deck is as well as how to make one. Thank you so much brother. I cannot wait to put these into action.
    Oh, and this should be a college course too! Just saying!

    I watched this video last night. I was searching for everything about pitching to make my pitch emails even better than they are, and i was literally searching for that plus, extra. I took your template, found a brand I want to shoot for/with, so I did everything as you said, this evening I sent out the pitch. I worked on that for hours, to get to know that brand well, etc. I was like, if I get back an answer within 2 days, that is good. I got an answer back within 10 minutes. I was so surprised. It NEVER happened before. I got answers, but not this fast, never. Not only this will get me an assigment with them, but I made an impact with it, and they said that this is very touching and they appreciate it so much, and are impressed. Thank you so much for this! This is very helpful, this makes real difference in my pitching, and gives exactly what I wanted to have. To make an impact, and stand out. THANK YOU!!! This is just crazy perfect.

    • @shxbhangi
      @shxbhangi 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      did you record yourself and send the pitch as a video or did you send it as a pdf file? Also, what did you include in your cover letter? I have created three pitch decks for three labels but am too scared to send them thinking that they won't even open them.

    • @shahbanas
      @shahbanas 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@shxbhangi Hey, I send it as a pdf. No video. And I just put in the email a short introduction (very short, only name and what do i do. since everything is in the pdf) and that they find my introduction in the attachment and if they have any further question do not hesitate. Very basic I know. But since there is everything in the file, I did not feel include more. Well, what you need now, to battle your fear. Just push the send button. Because what is the worse can happen? That they don't read it. Or they read it and do not answer, than it is the same situation like now. But if they reply you're closer to them already. Just send it! Do not overthink it! Wishing you success!

    Love this man, such a great breakdown. My one pain point would be don't give away unlimited image licensing. One to two years is more common, they're most likely not going to want to use the images longer than that anyway as they'll have new products.
    Then after two years, if the images have been successful for them, they'll either re-licence or book you for another shoot. And if they don't want to re-licence the rights return to you and you can sell them as stock to other brands, magazines, websites and publications. I've made thousands of dollars re-licensing images that I had already been paid to shoot.
    So grateful that you've put this up, wish more people would share this. Pitching is definitely a pain point for me.

    I've done sale for 7 years before last year when I became a full time photographer for my company. Somehow, I fell into a scarcity mindset and forgot my years of training & experience. Thank you for translating it into my new career in photo/video so I can have more success and use both of my professional skills in a cohesive way. I couldn't find anything nearly this helpful anywhere else before now, so thank you! This is a fantastic video. I've yet to pitch my first client but have had an idea for a local business I've interacted with previously -- this really showed me how to utilize the shared values, and my commitment to their product as a strength to prove my necessity to them and build trust. This really helped me to reframe from trying to sell them "photos" (difficult!) to selling my skills and creation as a path to help them achieve their goals. Also, the walk through of the pitch deck was everything I could have asked for as a beginner photographer. I subscribed, can't wait to engage with more of your content. thank you !!

    Great approach, very helpful. My only feedback would be that if I was a brand I would care more about seeing examples of the photographers work, than an image of their face. I'm not sure if any of the mood board images were your own, but if we're trying to create belief, I think it's important to show the client examples of our portfolio. I also feel like the deck felt quite long, and although the content was very succinct, if the client was busy and seen how many pages it was, they might be put off engaging with it. Maybe some of the information could be condensed into less pages? Loved everything else in here!

      Bang on! This was less about that step and more about once you're in the room / on the call, but you're 100% right - FIRST you need to get in front of them!
      Although I will say in my experience, getting in front is pretty easy with SMALLER brands. With bigger brands it can be a real challenge, so my advice would be start with the smaller ones or ones not getting hit up by 10k brands a day :)

    This is so great - exactly what I needed! I have a questions tho - I've read about influencer pitch before (not as a photographer) and they all say to keep the media kit and pitch very short. And even though this pitch deck looks way better and more proffessional, I can't help but wonder what will make the brands open and go through this whole thing? I guess the writing in the email must be convincing enough for them to open the pitch deck? :) Thanks for this video and I'm downloading the template as we speak! Can't wait to land some deals!

    Thank you SO much for this video. I think the most interesting takeaway for me was positioning your offer with an unlimited license. Do you do this for all your clients? I've heard from many other creators what a "must" it is to license the photos for a given period of time so that you're compensated as they continue to earn revenue off those images. I have to say though, it seems like most brands I've spoken to don't like that and will go find someone else. I'm finding they want to use them whenever, wherever and however...FORever haha. Definitely something I'm thinking about as I continue pitching.

    Great video. Questions - I think it is a little strange that you would tell the brand their own statistics - isn't this something they would already know and would know far more than you which could result in you looking silly?
    Another important factor is the funding you mentioned, you said the price is dependant on how much they need this pitch idea, but you don't know how much they need it so what price would you put unless you ask them for a budget first?

    this is great but the screen changing colors is super distracting, it goes from blue grey to grey to green.

    You pitch your self to every couple that want a wedding photography job or it's only for companies that don't know you

      Hi Tal! I wouldn't do a formal pitch deck like this with statistics etc, but I ABSOLUTELY pitch every couple I meet, in the sense that each one gets a client info guide showcasing beautiful imagery, testimonials from other clients, and outlining the process. THEN I'd do a meeting with the couple where we form a connection and I address any concerns. SO yes, you do pitch for weddings - just in a more subtle way!

    I love your content but the only way I can really learn is to slow it down to .75 because you talk waaaaaay too fast. At that speed it looks and plays like a normal video. Do you speed up your videos?

      Same problem here. It's been sped up by 20% sounds (and LOOKS) like.

    partnering with influencers and offering their services to uoir clients is smart. Takes the need out of having your own audience. Do you pitch influencers?
