  • The World Athletics Championship is hosted by Budapest in 2023. It is the largest sport event of the year, so naturally as natives to the city of Budapest and Hungary, we had to go and see it!
In this video we'll show you what the experience was like during the opening day, what's it like to be present in the stadium and cheer for athletes, what kind of prices you may expect and what the fanzone is like outside the National Athletics Center.
If you watch this as the World Athletics Championship is ongoing, and got inspired to visit the even till August 27th, then perhaps check out the official website to snatch up some tickets:

I was there for two final days! It was great event! Well organised. Stadium is beautiful and well managed. 😃 I enjoyed the days at the Balaton and came back for evening session and the final one with Szechenyi baths and evening at the stadium 🏟. What a great expirience overall. However, it was very, very hot - up to 41*C. 🥵 Cheers from Poland!

Dear Stuffed Cabbage and lovely Producer,
My husband and I just found your videos. We hope you make more and stay true to how you make your videos. We appreciate all of the locations you mention in your videos. Thank you again for your videos! We look forward to seeing more. Especially some videos of non typical tourist locations and foodie places.
    Best regards,

P.S. There are many expat Grandchildren who appreciate your videos like my husband. His Grandparents immigrated to the US in the 1950's.

Hey there! I hope you'll have a good time in Budapest 😊 by that time it will be difficult to make a video covering the public transport, but a few hints here : bus, tram and subway (metro) all work with same pass and tickets (except the airport service bus 100e,that requires a special Airport Bus ticket). Budapest Card covers transport but it's costly unless you go to a lot of museums and attractions, but it may need a lot of planning to make it worth, so probably a 72 hour regular public transport pass may be best (depending how long you stay) district 8 is well connected so you can get to places easily from there with the public transport. Just make sure that of you go with single tickets instead of pass, you always validate them. The Budapest Go app is good for planning travels and purchase digital tickets (but that requires constant Internet connection, so if you don't want to risk that just buy a physical pass or ticket from vending machines) I hope these few lines will help a bit 😊 (one more thing, do not buy a so called metropolitan ticket, it's for outside Budapest travels, not the metro 😊)
