Did we make over 700 HORSEPOWER in our CHEAP Corvette Z06?!

  • We bought the cheapest and highest mileage C6 Corvette Z06 back in April 2022. We partnered with eBay Motors Canada to make this 5 part build series happen. eBay Motors is one of the world’s largest marketplaces for buying and selling all things automotive - the site offers trusted parts for every need for every vehicle. Huge thanks to eBay Motors for sponsoring this series. Go to ebay.ca/motors for your next car project!
    Follow along in this 5 part series where we purchase, benchmark, modify, drag race, and dyno this 2006 Corvette Z06.
    In this episode, we install all of the parts that we ordered and then put them to the test on the dyno. Let's see how much NATURALLY ASPIRATED power we can make!

    Seems like the views haven’t been massive for this series, but I’ll be one of many to say- I love this series! It’s pretty entertaining and I’m excited to see how it ends!

      @TheWolfMatt ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Agreed. They're not getting as many views on this because it's been done too many times. However, I do always enjoy watching a good C6 Z06 build as it's my favorite sports car ever built.
      Ebay needs to work on the advertising of this a bit more to bump those views up since they are promoting their own site.

      People who want to watch millionaire's cars that most people won't even see on the road - much less own - probably don't do much cross watching of car build series. I'm sure it's a struggle to diversify content a bit without having some viewers tune out. Not to mention the usual toxic internet kick back from the adult children of the world.

    • @iSOBigD
      @iSOBigD ปีที่แล้ว

      @@morstyrannis1951 Yup, see saabkyle04. The guy was an OG car TH-camr and went from millions of views to almost nothing once he started doing builds and working on regular cars. People love seeing stuff they can't afford or unique stuff with TH-camrs with fun personalities...And vlogs from rich kids for some reason.

      @@iSOBigD To each their own, I guess. I personally find that kinda stuff as a bit of a turnoff sure exotics are cool but I'm much more interested in watching builds of stuff that is more attainable to the average Joe.

    The hilarious part that never gets old is the the torque down low. Basically from 2500RPM ALL the way til redline you're making well over 400 lb-ft of torque, naturally aspirated In a C6 Z06 with stock displacement, that's nutty. XD

  • @timmietz
    @timmietz ปีที่แล้ว +38

    Great job you guys! I had one of these, Lingenfelter built, but mine was only 660 at the crank. One thing you forgot to do especially since you were planning to take it to the track again, is to upgrade the steering rack to the one that came in 2011 or newer cars. It was significantly faster than the pre-facelift steering. I found that out when I took my 2008 car to the track for the very first time. I later owned a stock 2013 Z06 and that one was significantly better steering ratio wise

    • @TheStraightPipes
      @TheStraightPipes  ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Ah yeah I did notice the ratio on track. Lots of hand movement

    • @flexinclouds
      @flexinclouds ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yeah the 2011-2013's where obviously the latest & greatest of the c6z's. TR6060, mag-ride shocks, optional carbon ceramic brakes, carbon aero, carbon hood, better interior/seats, wider & stickier wheels/ tires etc. Upgraded PTM traction control settings and so-on.

    • @timmietz
      @timmietz ปีที่แล้ว

      @@flexinclouds you are right! Mine had every single option basically, I had the 07 package and a bunch of carbon stuff. Brakes were amazing! They were Carbon ceramic, of course. I totally forgot that the transmission was absolutely fantastic comparing to my 2008 Z06.

    • @ssoffshore5111
      @ssoffshore5111 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@timmietz The 2008 and newer all used the same TR6060 trans. I do agree the faster rack on the later cars makes it easier to control when things get hairy!

    This is such a badass build series. The c6 z06 was always my realistic dream car growing up. With performance to match quite a few supercars at the time. And the later year cars kept getting better with the TR6060, mag-ride, carbon ceramics, wider & stickier tires, improved interior, & carbon aero from the zr1.. made for one helluva sportscar. Not to mention only being available with a manual, paired to that sweet-sweet LS7🙌
