I’m an auto locksmith. I desynced modules in a Subaru Impreza once. Programmed under the wrong system. Called Autel tech support and they walked me through the steps to resync the modules. Car started right up after. Lesson learned.
I used to tell customers at the dealer, cut an extra key and either keep it in a safe, in a potted plant or at a relative's house cuz once you lose them all, it's up to the knowledge of your nearest dealer and most dealers don't have the experience with an all lost key situation because it's pretty rare. They will sell you all the modules because it's what techline says to do and dealers don't have cloning tools since it's so infrequent an occurrence to justify the expense
Subaru needs to improve their software or get class action suit to make it right for customers. Knowing this, I won't be considering a Subaru for future. 🤦♂️
What are you talking about I'm a locksmith and I do keys on all Subarus both of them needs an analog key and then the one with the blade key requires still an analog key and blank Blade key when all keys are lost 😂 You misinforming everybody what the hell are you talking about replacing all these modules
i got a 15 sti base model i picked up at auction it has no keys i was wondering if i give u the key cut code to cut a new key blank and a dump of the biu eeprom can u program a master key so i can start car ??
Hi mate I have 2010 subaru exiga and remote fob doesn't open door but it does start car when it's very close to push start switch. I did change the battery in remote fob but still same .then I got new remote and get the pin code through autal scanner and try to add new key but didnot worked. So not sure what is the issue is.orange key light on dash comes on and flashes but car can still start and drives.no codes in dtc .any help will be good.
Ok, I just went through this with my BRZ. I lost the key for had a program or come out and try to make a key. He couldn't do it. Took it had the BBRZ toed to the Subaru dealer. They couldn't do it. They then shipped my computers to New Jersey from California. New Jersey couldn't do it. So I had to buy 2 new modules. I have them installed. I went down to pick up my car and the car would not start even after all. The modules were replaced and the key fob was replaced in. I don't know what the h***'s going on but I got my old computers because they have the tune on them. I think i'm gonna swap him out because I found the original key fob
stop spreading fear. aftermarket tools do not brick modules. its the misuse of these tool and not knowing how to use them is what causes this. Even dealerships with their $10,000 dollar scan tools can brick modules. These aftermarket tools are made with the same knowledge as the dealer tools all made in china.
thats great info, i focus my locksmith buisness on Chrysler vehicles wich i have alot of experience (former chrysler tech) and have the proper factory tool in case of something goes wrong , i have one request for a 2012 Impreza to add a key and im glad i did my research before hand. are the 2012 models can become bricked also ?????
Out of all the cars I have done, new Subarus have not crossed my desk. Old subs with no chip yes but that is far as it goes. Subaru is asian and did not follow the trend of easy.
I hope Nasft do something about this in general, that is too much details, you don’t realize that you are not only showing everything to honest people you are also showing it to the other side, Subaru Dealer should see how easy is to bypass their cars security, what a shame!!
How easy? Did you even watch the video? Removing dash/heater core to replace a $400 immo box because that's the one module that can't be virginized on bench is not easy.
@@crash_override9435 lol well never said easy, second obviously you are not a locksmith you don’t need to remove all of that to reach immo box, so I don’t understand you point of send me a txt, good luck
Good business to be in. Your going to get a ton of work since these cowboys out here who think they,ll become filthy rich with a $600.00 programmer we,ll be sending you alot of work .All the while raising locksmiths insurance rates who do auto but arent desperate idiots and stay away from jobs that are over their heads.

Why does Subaru make such a system where you lose a key and you have very large and expensive paperweight in your driveway?
Lesson is don't buy a new car. Too many hurdles to overcome. Enjoyed the video!

Awesome, would you be willing to share the procedure for a 2021 Subaru Outback?
Could a similar method be used to program a new cluster in an Impreza with already existing key
Are you adding conformal coat across the PCB once you resolder the chip back on?
So I've got one original smart key (3rd type shown) does that mean I can't get a copy made?

And what is your cost if I have an already cut key without the electronics inside of it
