Christina couple of them in person add car shows. Yours are really move down the road when you get together if that's a 400 small block Chevy like we have here from the later 60s into the 70s model trucks 👍

My first ever car was a FB wagon when I was 14.. It was outside on the nature strip of a house. I knocked on the door and asked how much they wanted for it. The guy said, "If you take it away today you can have it." I ran home and got my younger brother. We pushed it home, about one K over loose gravel in thongs. 😁😁 I managed to get it going after a few trips to the wreckers.

Hurry up with the next episode, Mick. That Holden Ute appears a good candidate as a Super Street (10.90)or maybe…with a bit more cash…a Super Gas (9.90) for the quarter mile. I like how you edited out the Bloopers of the numerous times you knocked out your prop rod for the hood (A bonnet is what our Southern Belles wore back in day) and got sandwiched underneath.😅 Keep having fun.

The FB....one of my favourite Holdens. So similar to the EK, but I prefer the swoop of chrome on the door to the full body-length strip. The "bronzed" wheels you stuck on there actually don't look too bad, mate. I'm not usually one who likes a modern wheel on an older car, but they actually seem to suit it. If you're going black steelies on the beast eventually, I think she'll need a hubcap or something to break the black - and thinking about it, the chrome ring on the edge of the modern alloys is probably what sets them off and makes them look more at home on the ute than maybe they should. Also depends on what your plans are for the bodywork and eventual paint....if anything apart from a general clean-up and buff or coat of clear. That engine sounds absolutely corker, mate. She's got just the right amount of lumpdy-lump in the idle and (at least through the camera mike) isn't that loud either. Teething troubles are a bitch, but they're gonna happen no matter how careful or methodical you are....but yeah, leaving the thermostat out is the cooling system equivalent to finding the rotor arm after putting the dizzy cap on, eh! Done it myself multiple times and had the same reaction - disbelief, then the obligatory curse, then the big sigh as you click the ratchet over to the undo setting and take it all apart again. I played a trick on one of my mates like that - I found an old rotor arm and left it on the driver's guard where he'd only see it when he dropped the bonnet after finishing up. I was inside when I heard the bonnet close and then the curse that followed.....and the bigger curse as he traced my ancestry back several generations when he pulled the cap and found a rotor already there! Ever been hit in the side of the head by a rotor arm flung at a high velocity? I don't recommend it as a repeatable event... He got his own back though.....as we all tend to do! Coming together well, mate. Looking good so far and looking forward to seeing more of the old girl at some stage. Thanks for bringing us along for the ride. All the best

Mike, have you thought about putting one of those Craig-Davis mechanical thermo switches one the ute I think the fans draw about 25 amps while they are running it draws more power from the ignition on start up. 2 The fitting at the back of the engine for the oil pressure, the proper fitting has a male thread then a hexagonal shaft about an inch long 25mm for the imperially challanged then on the top a female thread for the pressure sender because the hex is longer there is no problem to tighten it. 3 The steam ports on the 400 Chevs are just water passages and the heads must have corresponding holes in them, the hoses coming from the back of the head gives me the impression the motor has been in a boat at sometime, the 400 chev I owned years ago didn't have any hoses coming out of it and it ran fine
Yep has a switch for the thermos i just am running it constant for now as its first run , yep have a oil pressure fitting above the oil filter and yep heads are done for steam holes .🍺🍺🍺🍺👍👍👍
