AAP Closing Logo with Merrie Melodies Music

- Although Associated Artists Productions was notorious for plastering their logo over the Paramount logo at the end of Popeye cartoons, they managed to preserve "That's All Folks" at the end of most pre-1948 Warner Bros. Cartoons seen on television. But, what if they had plastered over "That's all Folks!"? This is what would have happened. Music conducted by Carl Stalling. Interesting. I gotta admit.
If they did plaster over the WB rings, then we'd be in trouble. I wonder if the a.a.p. Popeye title alterations for the color cartoons were just on the TV prints, or if they were permanently altered on the 3 separate Technicolor filmstrips.
***** Did you mean to say that we're grateful that a.a.p. simply added their logo to the beginning of the WB cartoons instead of replacing the WB logo?
It was only on two cartoons that they took out the WB logo:
_Bars and Stripes Forever_ (4/8/1939, production number 8835; recent TV prints use the opening from _Gold Rush Daze_ instead)
_The Bear's Tale_ (4/13/1940, production number 9369; Blue Ribbon 2-13 -- thankfully an all-original non-Blue Ribbon print was found before being included on the Looney Tunes Golden Collection Volume 5 DVD set!)

@@ClassicTVMan1981X Don't forget "Pop Goes Your Heart". While the AAP hacks off it's WB logo, the 1995 Turner "dubbed version" seen on current TV airings and The Golden Age of Looney Tunes Volume 5 laserdisc restore the WB logo, albeit the closing card has been altered with a Dubbed notice
Steve Burstein This is due to a mistake on the part of AAP cutting out the WB opening logos on these three cartoons despite the fact that AAP is allowed to keep the WB references intact.

In the case of the 3 cartoons you mention, it was probably because AAP didn't know yet if WB would let them retain their logos or not.
