I used to build something like this but its modular. Battery / couple solar / cargo / landing gear / connector. connector / rotator / pipes /battery/ piston x 2 / connector connector / battery / drills With this simple set up, when Empty a small ship is able to relocate the entire operator to another ore location if close. The entire set up can be moved fully connected via larger ship or in pieces with a smaller ship.
Another ideal is make a very wide car with wheels on all sides and a hollow center area for a the drill to pass through with a piston 6 high crane. Wide helps prevent the crane from falling over and is a more energy friendly options then thrusters and wheels can function better with heavy loads.
This is great if you just want stone..... Otherwise this has little practical use unless you are just getting started. A cheap mobile large grid miner tho..... That would be useful
I mean not necessarily, like yes its better to find deposits, but once you get one set up its litterly just bassiclt unlimited free recourses, when it reaches its depth limit just increase the height and your good
why have vertical conveyor tubes, make as many vertical pistons as your feel comfortable with, extend them. Then begin making the downward pistons, so in reverse, the extended ones lower the compressed pistons to the ground. then make a simple either 360 around or leave a land bridge by reversing itat 340 degree with a timer block if emptying by hand.
With an advanced rotor straight out of the storage it would allow you to reset and shift to a new hole easily or harvest a ring around it but would t recommend that
You should make it even on both sides. Or it make get twisted with 1 side heavy. I don't or can't use share inertial tension. So I try to make the top block part of the base or anchored to the ground. That reduces shaking.
Thanks, it's a good idea. Can that container that collects everything be connected to the refinery? Yesterday I tried something similar but I don't know if the materials were sent to the refinery.
I like to let it complete a solid 360 on the first pass before I start messing with extending the pistons. You almost got in trouble with the drills digging down.

So this on wheels, landing gear, and a connector?

yes if connected and on

Not sure why but when I built this my material is just staying in the drills. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
There may simply be a piston head/ or rotor head that isn't completely welded up.
Could always try and make an advanced that rotates?
😓 Promo-SM!
How do i pull up that menu, where you set the Velocity to a Specific ammount Rather then using the Bar??
ctrl + left click, on slider.
