I was there on a tour in 2002 for a week and didn't see one drop of rain. We went all over the countryand it was beautiful. They are very proud of their heritage and all the military conflicts they had against the British.
@Briselance im English and it is a really inspiring song/marching song and although we do have our differences between the home nations. If i were going to battle i would be proud to fight alongside a scot a welshman or an irishman
The bagpipes never fail to give me a chill. Beautiful stuff. I’m American but a descendant of people from Kent on my dad’s side and Lothian on my mom’s side, and I’ve always felt a connection to my ancestral lands and will always love Britain and it’s rich, glorious history and traditions. Rule Britannia! God save the Queen!
I'm an American but my ancestors were Scottish, the English sent one of my ancestors to America because my clan fought against them. Even though I'm American I have Scottish blood running through my veins I have always been drawn to the sound of the bagpipes before I even knew the history of my ancestors. May you continue to fight for freedom to be a Scottish free state.
I saw them when they played in Germany. And they NEVER befor played otherwhere than for the queen :D Im such a happy Perosn because of this. They were so awsome and the best of all military bands together with hungary. ... so awsome... :D
I had the pleasure of seeing the entire unit of The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards at the Willard Hotel Washington, D.C. in 1988. Great time got to spend some time with the men of this unit drinking scotch.
The sound of bagpipes always makes my hair rise on my head and arms. (and I find men in kilts very sexy -with DrMartens style boots even better). My ancestor had to leave Scotland in mid 1700, got married in Ireland where son John was born. When wife died, dad took John on a boat. They reached Canada in 1807 then moved south to NY. To go to Scotland makes my heart beat. Blood is blood and I carry my ancestors genes for an emotional response to Highland sounds.
Je reviens d'un voyage en Écosse. J'ai visité le musée des Royal Scots Dragon gards (Scots Greys ) dans le château d'Edimbourg Émouvant pour ceux qui aiment ce Régiment si prestigieux.
Aaron Abdullah my mom is from Linlithgow, Scotland 🏴she moved to the United States when she was 22. Her accent is bonnie (beautiful). If ya wanna play Scotsman...here ya go buddy Gaun yersel (go yourself) Haud yer wheesht (shut up) Yer off yer fuckin trolley (you’re crazy) Yer bums oot the windea ( your ass is out the window) Ach yer wee ball bag (you’re scrotum) 🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴🏴
Oh how I miss home, I only ever got to see her briefly during my tour in germany. Took a ride up and walked around Peairt looking like a lost tourist. I am 4th generation ( grandmother)/ 7th generation ( grandfather ) scottish american by way of clan stewart and clan buglass. I love it though, and when ever I do get married I fully plan on it being in Siorrachd Lodainn an Ear and I will finaly get to wear my kilt again.
I had the pleasure of seeing (and hearing) these guys and the Blackwatch at Fort Belvoir, Virginia during our bicentennial celebration in 1976. They were there for the parade in DC, but performed at Belvoir a day or two before. Awesome.
my best mate is in the scots dragoon guards and i'm in the royal regiment of fusiliers so we rarely get to meet but when we do it's a good laugh, i've known him since we were 7 :)
waltonrivers, I was born in America, but I'm forever a Scot. Its our heritage, McTrollie is full of it. Its whats in your heart and soul, not the location of your birth certificate...
The statue of the soldier on his horse is my great grandfather. I have his original picture of him on his horse. Also have all his medals and discharge papers. He survived the relief of Kimberly.
I am a 4th generation Kiwi . But both sides of my family play bagpipes , and it appears I am allowed to wear clan McLeod tartan . Very proud of my ancestory .
Ascolterei questa canzone x ore mi piace tantissimo. L'ho vista e sentita suonare da molte bande scozzesi con molte variazioni ma è sempre bellissima. Vi amo scozzesi.
@hawaiidispenser From the moment you have Portuguese ascendancy you have Celtic blood in your veins. Portugal and Galicia (in Spain) were very influenced by Celtic culture in pre-roman ages and some things like bagpipes and those rhythms were preserved in our traditional culture. (I am Portuguese and I absolutely adore bagpipes)
@Moonickazinha Amazing! Thank you. Perhaps there is something in my blood then that is making me respond to this music. My various ancestors all left Portugal (Madeira, San Miguel, and Portugal) around 1880s & 1890s to live in Hawaii... and somehow through all this chance and circumstance, I was born!

I will take my sword, I will take my scots pride, with these lads playing this behind me, I would go into battle anywhere!!!
They don't play BEHIND you.
Mark Beyer They also don't go into battle, After hearing this the enemy has a heart attack on the spot.
+AussieSparrow Jack So you'd charge into battle with the Taliban aiming right at you with AK47's. Nice..
I was talking more about sword and shield . from back in the day, but yeah, if its modern combat, would do the same!!
TheGallimimus 35
The Taliban ain't got shit on a classic Claymore in the hands of a Highlander.
I am a metalhead but I love the bagpipes. I am 15 and sometimes I just get tears in my eyes if I hear the pipes.
