  • I used this odd looking piece of Olive to turn a bowl but was pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be a three corner bowl! The grain is just beautiful and contrasted with the nature in the piece and the outstanding bark, I believe this is now one of my favorites!

      I'm so glad, Josh! Most of us start as spindle turners. Making the leap to bowls is kind of a big deal but once you have a couple under your belt, it opens up a whole new world. Enjoy! 😊

    It just amazes me that you could look at that impossible to (to me) piece of wood and see what you were going to create out of it. For some reason the bowl made me think Retro. Like 1920 or 30s art. Very beautiful

    This is my favorite so far it is pure eye candy. I loved the white under side and then you cleaned out the bowl so it is beautiful all around, stunning!

    I am always amazed at how you can take a very difficult piece/shape of wood and turn it into a beautiful piece of art. You are truly an artist. Seeing and hearing how you progress through your evaluation of the piece's characteristics as you turn is a wonderful and important lesson to me (us).

      I agree with you. Pointing out the different characteristics and cracks is a lesson, especially for someone that is hoping to get into wood turning. Gaining a little bit of knowledge from an experienced person. I’ve always been told is a good thing.
