You just did one of the bravest things a magician can do: you explained the trick up front, and then used that to give the audience a false sense of confidence before playing the real trick. That used to be forbidden in the magic world, and that’s the tactic that got Penn and Teller originally branded as “the bad boys of magic”. And you did all that, performing for _them_ Keep up the good work!
I saw one trick like that in school. They make the audience think they know the trick. They didn't even explain it but it was quite obvious and the audience was screaming that it was done that way. Then the magician sprung up with a twist to show that was not how it was done.😅

You're dumb. The act didn't get a standing ovation from anyone. Penn turned around and did a violent arm gesture that manipulated everyone into standing up and cheering like idiots. That was the real magic. One guy in a suit controlling hundreds of homeless people.
I am glad they respected you enough to not pretend they were fooled as seasoned professional magicians. I was not "fooled", I am old enough to have seen most of this trick many, many times. However, your stage banter and the twist at the end were entertaining and unexpected. Hold your head high, you did yourself proud.

I am 63 years old, but I too did this trick when I was in junior high school before the entire school. While I did indeed fool the kids back then, none of them were Penn and Teller. I wish I had done it as masterfully and as brilliantly as you did. The quick change was spectacular, by the way.

Made me cry as I get being a 11yr old and thinking you can beat the season masters and I get the heartbreak at the “no you didn’t” but the respect they gave her is far beyond a trophy and i fully get that feeling but was so nicely done …. I’m gonna go cry in a corner now

As a former teacher, I can tell you this is a girl who has become an expert at practicing. Practicing endlessly, and remembering the improvements from that practicing. I usually don't watch the show, but saw the title "Youngest Magician......" I was surprised to see someone so young, and a girl. We just don't have enough female magicians. I watched the act and was SO IMPRESSED! You not only did magic, but you also spoke with so much sophistication. I loved the element of storytelling. I don't think I have seen a standing ovation on this show. Penn and Teller were so impressed!

What made this performance stand out was that brilliant ending. It came out of the air! I didn't expect it because I was looking right at it and didn't see it until she revealed it. Add to it the fact that she looks like a China doll, is totally charming and in control of herself (AND the audience), and indeed you do have the future of magic. Her tears at the end were the perfect prize, and better than the FU trophy could have ever been.
You did an absolute phenomenal job. That ending was absolutely brilliant. I wish I didn't know how this trick was done, just because of how good of a trick it is. I loved seeing Tellers reaction after the quick change.
I always find one of the best compliments you can get on that show is when Teller reacts. He always seems so genuine and he wants people to succeed. (That's when you know someone truly loves what they do). Although you didn't fool them, you entertained them that is big. Maybe you can figure out another act and try again! You just did one of the bravest things a magician can do: you explained the trick up front, and then used that to give the audience a false sense of confidence before playing the real trick. That used to be forbidden in the magic world, and that’s the tactic that got Penn and Teller originally branded as “the bad boys of magic”. And you did all that, performing for _them_

I saw one trick like that in school. They make the audience think they know the trick. They didn't even explain it but it was quite obvious and the audience was screaming that it was done that way. Then the magician sprung up with a twist to show that was not how it was done.😅

That was the first time I think in fool us history that an act got a standing ovation from every single person in the audience , including penn and teller.
You're dumb. The act didn't get a standing ovation from anyone. Penn turned around and did a violent arm gesture that manipulated everyone into standing up and cheering like idiots. That was the real magic. One guy in a suit controlling hundreds of homeless people.
Notice that Penn motioned the audience to stand. Well deserved.

For the first time watching this show brought tears to my eyes
I am 63 years old, but I too did this trick when I was in junior high school before the entire school. While I did indeed fool the kids back then, none of them were Penn and Teller. I wish I had done it as masterfully and as brilliantly as you did. The quick change was spectacular, by the way.

As a former teacher, I can tell you this is a girl who has become an expert at practicing. Practicing endlessly, and remembering the improvements from that practicing. Rachel I know you wanted that trophy I did also. But what you did get was the respect and admiration of everyone who watched you perform your magic. You were brilliant and had such incredible stage presence. You will come back and fool them of that I am sure of.

I usually don't watch the show, but saw the title "Youngest Magician......" I was surprised to see someone so young, and a girl. We just don't have enough female magicians. I watched the act and was SO IMPRESSED! You not only did magic, but you also spoke with so much sophistication. I loved the element of storytelling. I don't think I have seen a standing ovation on this show. Penn and Teller were so impressed!
Congrats Rachel. Your growth from having anxiety disorder to getting standing ovation from Penn & Teller is remarkable. Now, you will inspire others who see your story.
She's definitely adorable and it works. The ending though was created by me more than 35 years ago. It's in my penguin and Murphys lecture.... Except the dress part 😁 Happy she got exposure and confidence and a fantastic blessing from Penn and Teller❤

I could tell you were nervous to be there, but you did great! The trick was expertly performed. You even made Teller laugh with your quick change. And more than anything you had earned enough respect that Penn and Teller not only gave you a standing ovation but asked the audience to as well. The future of magic indeed.

I felt like the quick change trick - when she switched outfits - was so nicely done as to overshadow the classic trick she started with, but then it revealed a whole new element! Brava!

The trick is, indeed, an old standard, but Rachel made it more fun, and added that lightning-fast costume change, which gives it another dimension. Well done!

What made this performance stand out was that brilliant ending. It came out of the air! I didn't expect it because I was looking right at it and didn't see it until she revealed it.
Add to it the fact that she looks like a China doll, is totally charming and in control of herself (AND the audience), and indeed you do have the future of magic.
Her tears at the end were the perfect prize, and better than the FU trophy could have ever been.
You did an absolute phenomenal job. That ending was absolutely brilliant. I wish I didn't know how this trick was done, just because of how good of a trick it is. I loved seeing Tellers reaction after the quick change.

I always find one of the best compliments you can get on that show is when Teller reacts. He always seems so genuine and he wants people to succeed. (That's when you know someone truly loves what they do). Although you didn't fool them, you entertained them that is big. Maybe you can figure out another act and try again!
