    It's cool how you put everything into perspective on zero gapping as a domino effect, once you zero-gap one in your lineup you have to zero Gap them all so they can blend into each other effortlessly

    If you don't, you should teach! That was a long tutorial, with lots of information, but it shiwed knowledge, was concise, well explained, and you reiterated points when needed. Whether you're teaching Nuclear Physics, plumbing, or medicine, this is what it takes to be a great teacher! Keep up the good work!

I'm a home cutter im not a barber or even taking the name i have always cut my own hair and now my sons hair, i zero gap my legend clippers and luckily I used it on my self first and yes the next day I had cuts on my head i adjusted like u said to have a small gap to not cut my own head or my sons head.

    Hey, thanks man. I wish all youtubers were as Wise as you. My mission was to replace my norelco one blade, that goes dull too quickly with a quality zero gap quality trimmer. I shave my face with the one blade and it's the closest shave possible without using a razor.Your Explanation of guard thickness made me realize that any zero gap trimmer will neve replace the one blade. The micro thickness of the one blade is unbeatable unless you use a real razor. If these companies could make the one blade way more powerful it could cut through bulk witch it does not probably because of clogging. I'm not promoting the one blade as it's exclusively for personal use and works well but would never survive a busy day trimming. In short your wonderful tutorial saved me from spending $200 on a quality zero gap only to find out it won't work for a daily shaver as I would have expected. Is my observation on the right track?

    I zero gap by eye, I hold the clipper so the light illuminates the overlap, Generally, visualizing that as maybe the thickness of heavy weight 120g stock paper, 0.15 of a mm , a flies bollocks, Close but not flush.

    I agree man, however the question then becomes why not just use one clipper zero gapped when closed to cut and line and then go straight to the razor? I think it depends how much 'prep' work do you want to do before finalizing the work with that razor blade, but zero gapping isnt necessary. Although, I do have mine gapped lol.

    • @KevvThaw
      @KevvThaw  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely agreed. There is no need for any modification. As I said, it’s just to make the a process easier. The reason we have a clipper and a trimmer is because it allows for one blade to be thinner than the other, and it allows for one machine to be smaller than the other. I rather not line up with a bulky clipper. And I rather not fade with a small one.
