As a plumber, I just love the name "Santee"!
I have lived in Santee most of my life. I 100% agree it’s a sleepy town. It’s only a town for young families and old people. By the time you get to high school the town gets boring. If you are a couple that doesn’t plan to have kids or live the bachelor/ bachelorette lifestyle, it’s not for you.

I live in a strip of county land between Santee and El Cajon. Santee has lower sales tax than El Cajon (8.25 vs 7.75) so I tend to shop there most of the time. Home prices in ALL of California are out of control. I bought my home 22 years ago and its value has doubled. $700,000 for a starter home? Insane. It is no wonder people are leaving.
I agree- it’s crazy what our home prices are compared to most other states. Places like Inland Empire and Riverside and growing because you can get into a new build community for under $600k.

@LIVINGSANDIEGOCA I'ma san diego native. Lived in spring valley with my parents. When looking to buy I bought it santee for the reasons you listed.

Not another R.E. agent!!! Housing is not affordable right now. If you are a multi millionaire ok but middle, lower class, forget about it.
I totally hear you - that why Im sharing affordable cities as well on my channel. You don’t have to be a millionaire to afford Santee, I currently have an amazing turn-key home listed at $725k.

How about the biggest con you conveniently failed to mention. Affordability and way overpriced right now. It was overpriced 25 years ago and its much worse now.
It’s all based on supply and demand - prices are so high because of the demand and willingness to pay
Would you sell something for $200k if people are willing to pay $800k
