I don't remember which one it was, but the username rang a bell, because some days before I got my ass handed over to me by a blue mage artificer (Urza would have been proud) pulling off absolute shenanigry with Saï and a gazillion thopters. The awe quickly took over the bitterness of defeat, something I'm convinced only blue magic can do.

I play a very similar deck but with Extinction Events, which I have found is remarkably effective in removing recurring threats, particularly Uro and Dream Trawler, exiling odd creatures in mono-red to avoid flooding the board with 1/1 satyrs, or eliminating Thassa before Gyruda and Spark Double murder me.
@@stephenruh2474 Yep, talked to some old mods of his twitch and he just up and quiet. He's getting a lot of viewers with the runeterra content though. He used to pull around ~700 viewers when he was streaming Magic and now he pulls ~1500 viewers. You can understand his decision especially when he enjoys runeterra more.
Hey CGB - A number of times in the video, you didn't use planeswalkers in play before casting Yurion and then using Yurions flicker to get double activation value? Planeswalkers are non-land permanents... misplays or am I missing something?

If I'm remembering correctly exile doesn't trigger death triggers. Bolas's +1 is an exile, and the butcher triggers when it dies, not just leaves the battlefield.
If butcher guy would have sacrificed the butcher, when you were on 2 live he would have won, wouldn't he? Or does butcher not trigger by being sacrificed?
I do think its right to not attack in that position at 30:35. Bolas was low, but as long as you keep suffocating them on cards, he'll eventually close out the game himself. as well as you already had liliana to start doing zombies to close out the game there too.
At 42:58, you hesitate between playing Castle Vantress and Interplanar Beacon, settling on the Beacon. I think that was a huge mistake. The Castle would have come into play tapped, which would be okay at that point because there was nothing to spend the mana on, as opposed to the useless 1 colourless mana from the Beacon. The next turn you end up playing Castle Vantress tapped, limiting your mana on that turn to 5 instead of 6, if you would have played the lands in the different order. I think this was the moment you lost the game. I believe that this mana inefficiency is what caused you to fall behind so hard from that point onwards. It just goes to show that a little mistake on turn 5 can cause you to lose the game on turn 20+!

That first game, you gave him a win on a platter by doing Bola's +1, while you had 2hp and he had a Dreadhorde Butcher in play with 2 power.
The card is exiled. So Butcher wouldn't deal damage.
